Wedding Cake

Monday, March 1, 2010

Last weekend I was hired to make a wedding cake.  With all the different changes I’ve seen at weddings lately not everyone is choosing to go with a cake, but Grandma (to the groom) wanted to “gift” them with a personal one, feeling it wouldn’t be right to have a wedding without a cake.  They got my name from a friend at our church who saw my photo album at our silent auction recently.  With one weeks notice and only getting their request over the phone…

  • All white with a…
  • Hint of purple and a…
  • Sprig of silver.

This is what I came up with…DSCF2008 DSCF2004 The ‘sprig’ of silver is the butterfly bouquet pick and the ‘hint’ of purple is very much a ‘hint’ as I brushed shimmer dust on the bow, (it showed up much better in person)  but you can see I then painted some purple on the bows on the bottom layer.   DSCF2012I was so thankful that the mother of the groom loved it when she picked it up.  WHEW!!

So For Now…
