Cracked Glass

Wednesday, June 30, 2010
This is one of my favorite techniques and it is one of the five different techniques that was taught at last nights Techie Class. Thanks to Glenda for her layout idea, I only changed it up by using the Cracked Glass Technique.

My sister likes roosters – go figure! So when I saw this card front at our combined Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators garage sale I knew I had to buy it and make it my own to give to my sister. Cute idea for a rooster, don’t you think?

This is actually a cake on a cake.  Michael loves NASCAR so wanted a race car theme with his school colors of Red and Gold.

So NOW what am I going to do with my time???

WEDDINGS!!! Bring on the WEDDINGS!!!  So far I have four weddings booked - 2 in July, 1 in August and our son, Jeff and his fiance` Jessica, in October!!  I am really looking forward to all the beautiful cakes for the weddings.  It has been so fun to see everyone's individual personalities displayed through their choice of cake and decorations, looks like the wedding cakes will be no different.

Hot Tubbin’!!

Saturday, June 26, 2010
My husband has been caretaker for a family who is renting out their home while they are furthering their education in another state.  It hasn’t kept him too terribly busy and we did have one fabulous benefit.  They gave us their hot tub!!  Of course we had to pay for the set up, running the electrical, and Dale bought a nice new cover that is easy to lift so even weakling me can handle it.  I sat in it a couple times over the winter months which is really neat with the snow falling all around you, but I just get TOO HOT, so I like it better in the warm summer months when Dale turns the temp down and we use it like a mini pool.  Just enough for the kids to splash around in, and I bought some floating devices for Charlie and    Gracie. hot tubbin' 9 Charlie, as you can see loves the water.  Tyler and Gracie thought it was so much fun to have Charlie in the hot tub with tubbin' 2

Antique Car

Friday, June 25, 2010
My Brother in Law has been actively involved with the Antique Auto Club for years and years. I remember as a teenager going on vacation with them as they toured in their antique cars and dressed in antique clothing. It was a lot of fun to ride down the road in his Model T and see all the people look at you and think how cool it was to be in those unique cars. When I found this card front at our combined Stampin’ Up! demonstrators garage sale I knew I had to get it to give to him on his birthday. Since this is a retired set I could not make one of my own so I attached the front to a full card and added a verse and birthday greeting designed just for him.
Jim's 63rd
Do you think he will appreciate this verse in his card??
Proverbs 20:29 the glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
Happy Birthday Jim!!!

What to do on a rainy day

Thursday, June 24, 2010
Yesterday was a bit on the not-so-nice weather day.   Thankfully I was down in numbers for kids so activities stayed a bit more quiet.  So what do you do with a 6 year old girl who LOVES to do crafts but does everything so FAST that you can’t keep up with her?  I pulled out a retired Card Elements Kit and let her go at it.

I “walked her through” the first three cards and then let her create to her hearts content.  Little sister helped and even did some stamping too.  Then I let them use my punches.  You know how much I love to create things with the punches!!  Well, I didn’t even have to give her any tips she came up with this little person all on her own.  I think I see a future Red Hot Stamper in the making!!

Charlie was his normal happy self and loved all the attention the big girls gave him.  How can you not LOVE this happy smile!!

2725 And, of course, EVERYTHING goes in the mouth!!

I still haven’t posted the cards we made in our June STAMP 10 Class, so for all you who missed class this month – this is what we made…

M & M's Fan!

Wednesday, June 23, 2010
I LOVE M & M’s!! Especially the peanut kind, and when voting for my favorite M & M guy – my choice is Yellow! Of course this means I need to vote for the M & M NASCAR driven by Kyle Busch!

Our daughter and our grandchildren were out one day and spotted the M & M car on display in his car carrier trailer so they had to take a picture by it and send it to Gramma’s cell phone. Tyler is a HUGE NASCAR fan, but he roots for Jeff Gordon, but he thought it was pretty neat to see the M & M car up close.

And here is a card I made with the M & M theme. Thanks to the Stampin’ Connection for this yummy idea! If you would like to have access to the Stampin’ Connection all you need to do is contact me and I will help you sign up as a demonstrator – and NOW is the BEST time EVER! Until the end of June, Stampin’ Up! is offering a Mini Starter Kit for only $99.00. Then you can be a part of Christi’s Creative Crew and the Red Hot Stampers!! The benefits are endless – how about giving me a call TODAY!!!

So For Now…
Happy Stamping

Sunday, June 20, 2010
I hope all the wonderful fathers out there have an extra special day today!  I am so thankful to still have my own father (aka Daddy) with me.   He is (was) an avid golfer so I thought he would like this card I made from our retired stamp set “And Many Mower.”

I am so glad that the Baja Blue in this designer paper is coming back.

Trash or Treasure

Saturday, June 19, 2010
I’m working on more graduation cakes today so I will post those pictures later.  Today I thought I would share a Trash or Treasure posting.  During Spring break when I had the school age kids here we took these empty gravy jarsDSCF2027 and some retired rub ons and created these flower jars for the kids when they picked their beautiful flowers during the summer time. DSCF0017Added some pebbles I had on hand from the dollar store and ‘Voila – they have some cute flower jars.DSCF0020DSCF0019
 Flowers a flowers b
During our walk this week the little girls were thrilled to find their favorite flowers – the dandelions still scattered here and there.
