Keeping it Simple

Saturday, July 24, 2010
At our last downline meeting Glenda challenged us to make a card that was simple.  No layers, no embellishments…who would have thought that would be soooo hard to do because I love the layers, the dimensions, the ribbons, etc.  She did say that we were allowed to use one layer besides the base card and we could use an embossing folder – but that is IT.  YIKES!

Well, I knew that I wanted to use my new Circle Circus Stamp Set that I WON!!! (EARNED) FREE from Glenda – (Thank you Glenda!) for hostessing a workshop.  I'm sure you heard me say it before, but I belong to the BEST stamping group ever!  GO RED HOT STAMPERS! I must say that I was disappointed in my turn out that night (one lady from church besides three demos), but my daughter was in charge of a mother daughter craft day at the elementary school and because of her order the mystery hostess received a LOT of free product!  She was so thankful that she helped my daughter on the craft day by manning one of the craft tables!  Thanks Marla!

This is the card that I came up with for Clean and Simple

clean and simple cardSince I could not use glitter, shimmer paint or ANYTHING FUN … I used shimmer paper instead.  I even kept it simple with one color.  I really like the black and white.

Now to “Step It Up” a bit – I rounded the corners, sprayed it with Champagne Mist Shimmmer Paint (hard to see in the photo but it is soooo pretty), Added a tag with Dimensionals and NOW I like it much better.  Which one do you like?

We actually used the Stepped up version at this weeks STAMP A STACK
