Money Holders + RHSSC #69

Sunday, December 30, 2012
My mom is one of the most giving people I know.  I am thankful to have learned a lot from her.  At 84 years old she still keeps on top of birthdays for everyone imaginable and she loves her (4) children, (12) grand children and (25) great-grand children VERY much.  Even on a fixed income she makes sure to remember each of them with a money gift each Christmas.  The bank would only give her 10 money holders so she asked me if I would be able to help her out with the remaining 15.
SURE...
I made a template of the money holders that she already had so that they would be the same.  The oval hole was made using the NEW Oval Collection Framelits in the upcoming Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog.  *A great perk for us demonstrators is that we can get our hands on the new product one month early, and it sure came in handy for this project.  I covered the front with Designer paper from Be Of Good Cheer # 126896, $10.95 (annual catalog) and Snow Festival #126908, $10.95 (Holiday Catalog - current through January 2, 2013).
If you would like to have this same perk click HERE to get started.  Purchase the completely customizable Starter Kit for only $99 + tax (shipping is FREE)
The new Starter Kit comes with
· Up to $125 worth of exclusive Stampin’ Up! products that YOU choose
· A business supplies pack (valued at $65)
The total kit is valued up to $190, but the Stampin’ Up! opportunity can be priceless!
Talk to me today for more information or for help ordering your kit!
Once you purchase the starter kit there is no further commitment (if you don't want), or you can stay on as a hobbyist with a quarterly purchase of only $300. (this amount is before your fabulous 20% discount), and your first order over $150 (within 45 days) you get an extra 10% off.  This is such a good deal so I am looking forward to hearing from you.  It doesn't matter if you live in my area or if you are a long distant demonstrator.  It's all good, and I do my best to keep you informed of any new things going on.  I can only imagine that there is going to be wonderful things happening in the coming year as Stampin' Up! celebrates their 25th Anniversary!

Lest I forget to share this weeks Red Hot Stamper Sketch Challenge...this is the sketch we had to work with...

And this is my take on it... You can see I did a flip on the sketch

The colors I used for sponging the sky are Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Elegant Eggplant.  Colors for the moon are Daffodil Delight and More Mustard

So Excited! and January Classes

Saturday, December 29, 2012
I am so EXCITED!  At the Coopersville Craft Sale I was approached by a lovely lady to see if I would like to put my things in a new consignment store her brother was opening in Hudsonville.  Would I!! I have been waiting for something like this for YEARS! However, I really only wanted a spot to put my large card rack which holds 160 different cards.  Thankfully they said YES!!!  So my hubby helped me bring the rack to USED TO BE NEW CONSIGNMENT SHOP, Cherry Street in Hudsonville.
When we were setting up, Dale walked around to check out the booths that were there already and he liked what he saw.  The store was roomy and had an open feel to it.  Prices were great throughout the store as well.
My friend Kris has a booth there which is called VINTAGE GAL and her things are very lovely, she does a great job.  Kris works with me on the Women's Retreat Committee - oops - we've adopted a new name - Girls Getaway Committee, and Kris focus' on decorations.  When you check out her booth you will understand why, she really does a beautiful job!
We hope you will check us out!  Price for a card is only $2.00

Get Well Sooner

Friday, December 28, 2012

Now that the weather is cold we are experiencing the typical "cold and flu season".
I thought this was a fun card to have on hand to send out to those who are struggling with not feeling so good right now.  Thanks to Glenda who let me borrow her BUTTON BUDDIES stamp set, I was able to use up some buttons I had on hand.
The Sentiments are from WORD PLAY and SWEETLY SAID.

I love cards that have a little element of surprise in them don't you!!

This is not the card that I gave my friend, Marla, after her shoulder surgery, but I thought it was appropriate to show you what Henry's been up to when he came with us to visit her.
Get well Soon Miss Marla!

Have a Healthy Day!!

Christmas Greetings From Friends

Wednesday, December 26, 2012
We had a fun Christmas Day that started with my hubby making a yummy breakfast for us and my parents, and then a leisurely day until we joined up with two of our kids for a late lunch early supper (lupper as our kids say), and to play games together.  Tyler and Gracie each got an ipod for Christmas so they were busy on those - Gracie is our 7 yr old computer whiz and constantly amazes us.
Tyler also played a Wii game with his uncle Jeff - guess who won??
We had a simple make-your-own-sandwich buffet and I made these cookies to go along with our "lupper" - as Stampin' Up! Demonstrators we not only share our card ideas and layouts we occasionally share recipe ideas.  I saw this cookie idea on Lorri Heiling's blog.
Lorri called it an Arizona snowman, but here in Michigan we are still waiting for snow so I guess this could be a Michigan snowman too.  I just thought it was so cute.  I used purchased sugar cookie dough (yes, I know, I cheated) and then the melted snow part is simply a powdered sugar glaze that sets up.  The rest I used my cake decorating frosting.
This year we played a new game that was a lot of fun called Say Anything, and then, of course, a rousing game of Apples to Apples.  How fun to laugh with your family, and just enjoy time together.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well. Now I will share with you the hand stamped Christmas cards that I/we received this year...
This one is from a former day care family.  I love getting updated photos of my "kids"
From Chris and Peggy, friends ever since our boys were born close together.
From Carla, one of my dear friends in my down line
Another down line gal, Donna made this cute snowman card.
From Debbie, a sweet gal who comes to classes and faithfully comes to my craft sales
From Sarah who in in the Red Hot Stampers groups with me
From Maggie another stamping friend in the Red Hot Stamper group
From Rachel my play day buddy and fellow Red Hot Stamper
From Becky, my pen pal and dear friend since I was 12 years old, and now she is in my down line
I love how she put this cute little bird inside the card
From Sue, a dear friend, cousin by marriage, and was my first recruit in my Stampin' Up! downline
This is from Judy, another Red Hot Stamper!  I LOVE how she duplicated the Christmas postage stamp that the PO sold this year. Didn't she do a great job!!

From Lois, Linda and Bev who are faithful attenders of my Stamp A Stack classes
And last but not least - this one is from Glenda, the fearless leader of the Red Hot Stampers.  I just love getting these hand stamped cards.

Christmas Lodge + Henry

Monday, December 24, 2012
This stamp set was a HUGE hit in the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.  My friend Sue bought this one so I chose to just borrow hers, and while I had it on hand I wanted to make up this card that is inspired by Ann Schach

Lots of Dazzling Details, and pearls

Always Artichoke (retired) button and Ribbon, Mini Jingle Bells and a Merry Tag from Tiny Tags Stamp Set

INSIDE

So what is Henry up to? Henry has found a friend...  This is how our bed looks when it is all made up nice...
Bear has held this special spot for several years, ever since Dale bought him for me as a Valentine gift. Now both Henry and Bear can have a comfy place together.  However, Henry usually spends his days on the crafting table keeping me company.

A Family Christmas

Sunday, December 23, 2012
We celebrated Christmas with the kids and grand kids on Friday night.  Along with the store bought gifts we gave each of them I also made a set of cards for each of the girls
For Julie who loves owls...
 Inspired by... Beth Crocker

 For Jessica who loves music...
Inspired by Elizabeth Sanders

And for Melissa who will often wear animal print fabrics...
The purses were made using the instructions from Frenchie.  But to get exactly what I wanted for the girls I used printed glimmer paper purchased from a local craft store.

We had a delicious meal with everyone pitching in - even Henry helped me make the potatoes

How do you like the bib I made for him using the Scallop Circle Die and the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies.  Didn't want Henry to get all messy working in the kitchen.  Henry thought he would play a little hide and seek....look where I found him...taking a ride in the Lazy Susan!
Joey and Melissa had a power outage so they came early to make their yummy chicken and pasta salad.

Jessica is doing her final touches on the vegetables and it sure seemed nice to be able to walk out of the kitchen and let the kids do their thing.
Thanks For Stopping By~
