Another card from the stamp set SEE YA LATER

This time I CASED Eveline vanHeijst.  this is what you would call a clean and simple card, and I love the lines on the black card stock made with the chalk marker and my ruler.  I heat embossed the Birthday Greeting with Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder.

Take it to Heart

Thursday, January 30, 2014
So yesterday I was playing with the SEE YA LATER stamp set that you can get for FREE during Sale a bration (through March 31, 2014) and I loved this idea from Heidi Sorg.  I did combine it with a retired stamp set called TAKE IT TO HEART but I thought it was so cute and I am sure many of you veteran stampers out there hang on to your stamps too.

It thought this would even make a cute wedding card so really just use your imagination.  Very simple and sweet!

Good As Gold Card Kit

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

SALE A BRATION!!! YEAH!!! I am loving all the FREE products that we can all get with only a $50 purchase.  Yesterday I played with the GOOD AS GOLD CARD KIT. Click HERE to see the Sale a bration brochure.

First I made this card using the GOOD AS GOLD CARD KIT, the stamp set BANNER BLAST, and the BANNER punch.  All these items you can get FREE with a $50 purchase per each item.

(I think the gals will be making this card at then February Stamp A Stack class
HERE are those details:
February Stamp A Stack Classes...Choose from...
Monday, February 10, 7 pm  OR
Wednesday, February 12, 10 am OR

Saturday, February 15, 10 am
COST: only $12.00 for 8 cards

Then I went to Dawn Olchefske's blog and she had a video on how to make this cute treat bag using the card from the GOOD AS GOLD CARD KIT. I put a Ferrero Rocher candy inside mine so you can see the approximate size of the treat bag.

THEN I was thinking if Dawn can make a treat bag what else could I use this great card for besides a card?  A BOX!!

Want to know what is inside my cute little box? My hubby has been making homemade soaps to sell.  This one has Chamomile Face Bar in it, but we really wanted to use this paper/card for his Pink Champagne Soap.  So here is the picture of that one... The stretchy gold cord is also included in the kit along with the Bermuda Bay Twine seen in the Treat Bag photo and the gold foil banner.
Wish there was a "smeller" attached to my blog so you could smell the absolutely amazing scents of his soaps.  Also available are Rose Soap and Lavender Soap.

Back to the GOOD AS GOLD CARD KIT...
The kit comes with a sheet of banners as you see in the treat bag photo.  It includes 8 in English, 8 in French, 8 in German.  Since I didn't have a need for the other languages I threw the rest in the trash only to pull it out again.

I figured I could use the back side of the banners for other cards and projects.  See the Calypso Coral border on the bottom left banner?  Well, I cut that out from the large sheet and now I have a border, but wait - I can border the printed side too and make it a two toned banner.

I just love it when I can use every single inch of the kit!!  Here they are all together...

What is in it for you during Sale a bration?  Be a hostess and if your class goes over $300 you get an EXTRA $30 in hostess product!

Is there more?  You bet!! Purchase the $99 starter kit and get an extra $25 in product.  No kit to buy - you get to choose whatever you want.  Click HERE to get started

For Noah

Monday, January 27, 2014
One of my friends just had her first baby.  This sweet little guys name is Noah so I thought using the TWO BY TWO  stamp set would be appropriate for her baby card.

This card was inspired by Julie Davidse.  Julie made her TWO BY TWO card was designed on My Digital Studio, but I wanted to just make it with stamping.  I guess the only thing I copied is the colors that she used to color in the animals as well as making clouds in the sky.  Then I went to my stash of sketches and chose this sketch layout to incorporate my Noah's Ark.  I love the way it came out and I am very anxious to meet little Noah.  HERE is a link to Julie's Stampin' Connection page where she posted her version.  I could not find the card on her blog but I gave you the link to her blog anyway.  Go check it out!

Celebrity Sightings

Saturday, January 25, 2014
Leadership was such a great time and the Managers Reception was the best one yet! If you are a blog hopper like me you probably have seen many demonstrators posting pictures of the Leadership event and the Managers Reception at the Downtown Houston Aquarium.  I won't bore you (hopefully) but I thought on this Saturday I would show you some of the Celebrity Sightings I had while there.

Here I am with Dawn Griffith.  I have watched her blog for many years.  Her hubby, Richard, was with her at the Managers Reception as well and he and Dale really hit it off.  I think I need to take Dale with me more places because he is such a people person.

This is Shelly Gardner's (CEO) Daughter Sara Douglas and her hubby. Sara is the "Advisor to the CEO"  She does a fabulous job and one day could easy fill her mothers shoes in the Stampin' Up! role.

And this is Shelly Gardner herself!! One of the sweetest women you will ever  meet.  She treats EVERYONE like they are the most important person

These two goofy guys are Chad Richards "Chief Information Officer" and Scott Nielsen "Chief Financial Officer"
Here I am with Rich Jutkins who is the President and COO of Stampin' Up!  Very neat guy - super family man.  I love hearing his stories even though he did not get on stage this year.

All the people who work for Stampin' Up! are genuine.  Every time I had a question - and believe me - I had questions! They were so kind and patient.  Each person filled many roles during the Leadership Convention.  First you would see them teaching you about My Digital Studio (where I spent most of my time) and the next time I would see that same person handing out our free tee shirt and stamp set for attending the Managers Reception.  Stampin' Up! truly is the BEST company to be involved with!  I LOVE my job!!  And when you love your job, you will never 'work' again!!

Why not join my team!! what a great opportunity is in store for you.  Sale A Bration officially starts on Tuesday, January 28th and goes through March 31st.  If you purchase the Starter Kit for only $99 (plus tax but no shipping!)  you will get an additional $25 added to the already great deal of $125 worth of product.  So that means you pay the $99 and get $150 worth of YOUR CHOICE of Stampin' Up! products!  The Red Hot Stampers is having an Opportunity Night on Thursday, February 6th so if you would like to join me to see what it is all about I would love to have you come along.  If you do not want to come or do not live in my area (therefore cannot come) you may still click HERE to JOIN NOW.  I would love to have you become a part of my team.  Don't even fret if you are not even in my state of Michigan - I have a few gals in my downline that are not either and I make sure everyone feels a part of the team.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

What Does The Fox Say?

Friday, January 24, 2014
Another snow day here in Michigan and Gracie, our 8 year old grand daughter, gets to spend the day here with Gramma!!  WOOT! WOOT!

We decided to make Gracie's Valentine Cards for her classmates at school

We cheated this year because we found exactly what Gracie wanted on the fabulous blog called DARLING DOODLES - a great source for printables - so we just printed those off and cut them out

But we wanted a special one for Miss Scott her 2nd grade teacher.  We also wanted to keep in the Fox theme so we went to Pinterest and searched for  a fox punch art.  Why wrack my brain when someone has already done a fabulous job, right?!

I found 2 punch art fox...one by Deidre and the other by Avery Murphy.  Avery's gave me the exact punches to use so I followed hers for this card.

Of course I didn't have the words etc to make the card resemble the cards Gracie will give to her friends so I made a dash to My Digital Studio to print this out.  I think Gracie had fun helping me decide how the word bubble would look.  I chose an oval punch, changed the color to black, made a text box and typed in my words, changing the colors.  "WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY" was also typed in a text box and I found the arrows in my newest download purchase of a class called BEAUTIFUL DAY.  I love this one!  You will see more of this coming soon.  Once I printed it out Gracie was disappointed that the oval didn't have the word bubble look so I simply added that with the fine tip of my black marker.  We added the cute little fox (we added the glimmer bow to her) and some hearts from the Heart to Heart Punch and the Owl Builder Punch.  The Designer Paper is POLKA DOT PARADE #126902 $10.95 on page 154 of the main catalog.

I am so delighted with this card I could shout!!

Back in Business

Tuesday, January 21, 2014
We are home from our extended Texas vacation and I am back in business!  My craft room will be open today from 10 am to 5 pm for my COME STAMP WITH ME 'class'.  Looking forward to seeing you all - seems like it has been forever since my last Tuesday class.  This is one of the cards I will have out for you to make.  It uses the NEW Hexagon Hives Thinlits Die from the Occasions Catalog.

The little bee stamp is from the stamp set COLLAGE CURIOS and, yes, it is still currrent!!  I printed the BEE MINE on the computer and the little bee was made using the Simply Pressed Clay and a mold I found at the local craft store.

See you all soon!

Can You Spot Henry?

Monday, January 20, 2014
Dale and I had such a wonderful time on our vacation visiting with his brother and sister-in-law.  Sherry is more like a sister though and we had such fun together.  I may like Henry Elephants but Sherry LOVES rabbits!  They are scattered ALL over their beautiful home.  Henry was feeling rather playful one day so see if you can spot him amongst all the bunnies...

Sherry also had MANY candy dishes out to treat us.  Dale and Henry like the Peanut M and M's the best.

We were treated like a King and Queen during our stay.  We tried to help out but Sherry would shoo us away.  We snuck in some specials for them, like making our LAZY EGGS for breakfast a couple times, and grilling some burgers.  I had purchased a gift card to Olive Gardens as a thank you, but I forgot to grab one of my gift card holders.  What will I do?  Sweet! I was able to use one of the swaps from Leadership to put the gift card in!!  I took a picture, but forgot to document the name of the demonstrator who I swapped with.  So if this happens to be your Leadership Swap please let me know so I can give you the credit!!

She used the Envelope Liners Framelits to make the gift card and the PERFECT BLEND stamp set.  Very Cute! and I was thrilled to have a gift card holder in my swaps.  I might just consider this myself next time!!

Valentine for the Tool Man in Your Life

Saturday, January 18, 2014
When I saw this Valentine card idea by Pamala Smith I knew it would be perfect for a guy like my hubby who has a huge collection of tools.

I am sad that the TOOL SHED background stamp is retired but I like to post cards using retired products because if you are like me, you hang on to all the stamps you love, and even if you don't copy it exactly it still gives you an idea of what you can do.  This card will be a great addition to the Used To Be New Consignment Shop in Hudsonville.  So if you are in need of a card for any occasion, stop on by - cost is only $2.00 per card.
