'Tis the season for graduations!!

When I started doing child care in my home in the fall of 1996 I never knew how big it would get over the 15 years I stayed with it or how many kids would come and go through our home.  Some of the kids came when they were older and some came as infants.

Harrison came to play on a very part time basis when he was about 2-3 years old, basically only when his mom needed to install window treatments and couldn't take the little guy along to work with her. He loved to play with the kids when he came and not only was he "friends of the family" they were also neighbors.  I loved having Harrison come from time to time to play with the others and now it is his turn to graduate from high school.  I can't believe how big he has gotten.

From this cute little guy...

to this massive football player!!

Harrison will be playing college football in the fall!  Congratulations Harrison on your graduation!!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Inspiration

Wednesday, June 25, 2014
When I saw this card by Sam Donald I thought it was so elegant
But as I am working at my work station this is the view I have...
So I thought that I should design the butterfly card to match my Tempting Turquoise wall
This just wasn't working for me so I changed it up, and since the adjoining walls are painted Sahara Sand I thought I would have that be the base of my card instead of Basic Black.  Adding the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder made it come together for me.
So what version will I have out for you to make at the July Stamp A Stack classes?? Well, I guess you will just have to sign up and find out for yourself.  What a tease I am!

Sentimental Sunday

'Tis the season for weddings.

Two of the college gals from church that I have been sending cards to during their 4 years of college as an encouragement to them while they were away from home are now getting married, and I was honored to be invited not only to their weddings, but also to their bridal showers.  I wanted to do something special for them so I went directly to My Digital Studio to make them each a journal.

I chose photos that they used for their engagement pictures from their face book pages

I am super happy with how they turned out, and the girls really loved them!  We went to Jenna and David's wedding on Friday night and they used the journal that I made for them as their guest book! Gotta love that!
The happy bride and groom on their first dance as a married couple.  I wish them all the very best as they begin their new life in Atlanta, Georgia. David is a tennis pro and Jenna will be going for her Masters Degree - God speed, David and Jenna!

Fussy Cut, that is...
I loved this layout by Karen and I wanted to give it a try with the FLOATING RE-INKERS Technique.  This was my first color combo: Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight.  I wasn't terribly fond of the center of the flower so I stamped a second flower center and colored it with Stampin' Write Marker in Daffodil Delight, fussy cut it out, and popped it up with a Dimensional.
My second color combo is Wisteria Wonder with Elegant Eggplant.  The flowers center was REALLY dark so this time I stamped and embossed two more flower centers and fussy cut them out and popped each layer up with a Stampin' Dimensional.
The flower stamp is from the very popular stamp set called Blended Bloom, and the Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Photopolymer stamp set called ENDLESS BIRTHDAY WISHES.  This is such a great set, so great that Stampin' Up! ran out of them very quickly.  We are told that they will get more in stock but are waiting on their distributors.  I will give you a heads up when the stamp set is available to purchase again because this set, of course, is great for your card making but it is also fabulous for your scrapbooking.

Sentimental Sunday

Gracie is our little Ballerina and a few weeks back she had her dance recital at the end of this years classes.  Next year she should be in the next level up as a 9 year old.  Wow, did I really say that?  Let's just let her be 8 years old for these last few months - why rush it.
Here she is getting all her stage make-up on - (she hates it), but she is smiling!

Gracie did a fabulous job and we are so proud of her.
Gracie is front and center in this video.  I think it taped it in fast motion (hahaha)

Receiving her award and her photos
Mommy gave roses!  Gramma and Grampa gave a single carnation, but she sure did feel special that they were REAL flowers
I love this picture of Gracie and me - I even set it as the wallpaper on my iphone
 A special picture with Mommy
Even Tyler asked to have his picture taken.  After Gracie danced I could see the look in his eyes that he was so proud of his little sister
This is the card that I made for Gracie inspired by Fran Sabad
