Write Your Story On My Heart

Nearly 2 weeks ago was our Talent Night at our church.  The kids (and grown ups) in our church have such amazing talent.  This week I thought I would share with you the cards that I made for the participants.
This sweet trio of girls sang the song "Write Your Story On My Heart" by Francesca Battistelli
They did such a great job and I found myself designing their card in my head while they sang.  I do not plan their cards until I see and hear their performance and I love to take notes so as much as possible I can design their cards according to their performance.

This is the card that I made for them.  I started with this one - I put the hearts down on the TYPESET SPECIALTY PAPER with 2 glue dots to hold them in place and then stitched them down using my trusty 39 year old Kenmore Sewing machine.  I thought the Specialty Paper was perfect for the "WRITE...(Your Story)" and the SWEETHEART PUNCH was perfect for the "...On My Heart" part of the song.  Beautiful job Claire, Olivia and Caroline!
It looked too flat so I tried another one and just placed them while I sewed so I could flip the heart sides up for more dimension.  I tried stamping the "thanks" from ANOTHER THANK YOU directly onto the specialty paper but they kind of got lost with all the print
so I opted to stamp the "thanks" onto Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out using the banner from the CIRCLE CARD THINLIT DIES and popping it up with Dimensionals.
After I finished uploading all the pictures I added a small Basic Rhinestone to each heart and it really added the finishing touch but I was too lazy to take another picture and upload etc. but adding the Rhinestone would be called "stepping it up".  Very pretty.
INSIDE:

I actually punched out a SWEETHEART PUNCH from the Very Vanilla Cardstock and placed a piece of Designer Paper behind it.  Yes, I could have just put a punched out SWEETHEART on it but I liked the element of dimension it gave it doing it this way.

Thanks for stopping by!
