Owl Treats

Friday, October 24, 2014
Tomorrow we will be at the Georgetown Bible Church for our next craft sale.  I'm pretty excited about this one because it is in our town so we get to see many people that we know and love as well as brand new shoppers to meet.  I love making fun, inexpensive gifts that people can buy for teachers, stocking stuffers, shower favors, holiday gifts, etc. and I love sharing my love of stamping with everyone who comes to out booth.  This is the first year that Georgetown Bible Church is having a craft sale and they have done a bang up job in advertising from what I can see.  I hope you will pop on over to see us and check out our fun booth.  The church is located on the corner(ish) of 40th and Baldwin in Georgetown Township.  If you are googling it, it might say Hudsonville.
This is the fun owl box I made yesterday for the sale.  We find that owls are still a BIG seller and I liked this idea by Jackie Topa.
Dale will have a booth right next to ours with his fabulous all natural soaps, lotions, and 100% soy candles and his newest product: wax melts (for your Scentsy type warmers)
This is what it looks like without the goodies in it.
I used some retired designer paper that had feathers on it which I thought was appropriate for his wings.
I made up a batch of my Carameled Corn Pops to fill the bags.  I had all I could do to leave this yummy treat alone and have enough for my boxes.
Want the recipe?
I'm warning you - you won't be able to leave them alone

CARAMELED CORN POPS
1 bag of Corn pops - NOT the cereal! you will find these where you find the bagged popcorn (chip aisle)
1/2 C real butter
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C light Karo syrup
1 tsp Baking Soda
Preheat your oven to 250 degrees
Put your corn pops in a large bowl (I use my big Tupperware bowl)
prepare the syrup in a 2 quart pan: bring butter, brown sugar and Karo syrup to a boil (medium heat).  Boil 2 minutes then add the baking soda.  Pour the syrup over the puffs and mix well until they are completely coated.  Put them into a roaster pan and bake at 250 degree for 45 minutes - stirring every 10-15 minutes
Pour onto waxed paper to cool, break apart while warm and store in an air tight container.
YUMMO!!
Thanks for stopping by!
