Bloom With Hope

Thursday, April 30, 2015
I love the way this card turned out.  I cased it from a card I saw on the boards at Leadership in January.  I changed it up by giving it a Daffodil Delight base and I printed out my own words for the front on my computer.  It reads "You're admired as a woman. You're loved as a mom. You're treasured as a friend."  I used my Blendabilities Markers to color in the flowers, but if you were not able to get some of these before they were pulled from the Stampin' Up! line you can easily use our Marvelous Markers. The stamp set featured is one of the Hostess exclusive stamp sets.  If you LOVE this set you can either 1) book a class with me before June 2nd OR 2) place an order of $150.00 or more and with that you get to choose $25 worth of product.
INSIDE I used the stamp set SWEET LAUGHTER for the sentiment.

Painted Petals

Monday, April 27, 2015
This week I will be featuring Mother's Day cards.  This next holiday is creeping up on us rather quickly and you don't want to wait until the last minute to make or buy a card for your mom on this special day.  This first card was inspired by Glenda Calkins who is my direct up line in Stampin' Up! She has been a great encouragement in my Stampin' Up! business even when I swore I was only going to sign on to get the discount.  That is where the story began in February 2008 and look how far I've come!!
And here are the ingredients that I used to make this pretty card:

5!

Only 5 more weeks until Tyler turns 13! and this is the treat that I gave him this week
Not much more that Tyler likes than beef jerky.  As a joke at Christmas time I gave him some jerky called Kryptonite which was SUPER SUPER HOT!! Even Tyler couldn't handle it.

And here he is at age 9.
This was the year he earned his purple with white stripe belt in karate.  Hard to believe he is a black belt level 1 already

Sweet Saturday

Saturday, April 25, 2015
I love this picture that I took on Easter Sunday of Jeff with Gracie!  What a great uncle he is to these kids.
And here is a flashback to when she was 2 years old.  Uncle Jeff was working the fun night at church (in lew of trick-or-treating). Gracie dressed as this cute little lamb and Gramma was Little Bow Peep.
Now Jeff has a little one of his own! sigh!!  Happy Sigh!! Love these little ones!!

Celebrate Today!

Friday, April 24, 2015
On this fun Graduation card I finally used some current Stampin' Up! stamps!! LOL!! This stamp set is called CELEBRATE TODAY.  Once again I used the Hudsonville High School colors of Maize and Blue (Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy).  I used the same Grad hat as on Monday's card.  I love the co-ordinating Framelits that go along with this set for the little bow and tassel as well as the balloons.  I used the LARGE POLKA DOT Embossing Folder like on Thursday's Card.
This second card is just plain fun!! Thanks to my friend, Nancy, who owns a variety of HOUSE MOUSE stamps and let me play with them.  The little hats and the sentiment is from the retired stamp set GO GRADUATE.
I hope you have enjoyed this week of graduation cards.  If you live in my area you can shop at the USED TO BE NEW Consignment Shop on Cherry Street.  However if you really need a card and do not live nearby,  I will gladly send them to you.  They are $2.00 each plus shipping.  You can contact me anytime at christiwaite@gmail.com

Go Eagles!!

Thursday, April 23, 2015
Please forgive my use of non-Stampin' Up! stamps.  I owned these 2 stamps WAY BEFORE I ever signed on as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in February 2008.  They are perfect for making graduation cards for the consignment shop.  Especially the Eagle because we ARE the Hudsonville Eagles after all!
The 2015 is my favorite set of dies called TIMELESS TYPE ALPHABET JR.  Sorry, these are retired, but I NEED to tell you that you don't want to wait until things retire and then be sorry that you don't have them on hand.  So this is a heads up that the RETIRED LIST is coming out already on Tuesday, April 21st - that's NEXT WEEK already. So go to your catalog and start planning what you REALLY don't want to miss out on, then when you get the RETIRED LIST you can see if your favorites are on it.   As always you can go HERE to place your order.  This is your best bet for the RETIRED items because I will NOT be putting in an order every day. If your order is under $150 I will have a HOSTESS CODE for you to use and will publish that on the 21st.  If your order is over $150 you will not use the HOSTESS CODE because you will be your own hostess and get $25 minimum FREE hostess product.  Clear? (as mud?) LOL!! If you ever have any questions please contact me at christiwaite@gmail.com
This next card I used the same layout and stamp.  I used the BOKEH technique using Soft Sky and Island Indigo Inks along with Whisper White CRAFT. I stamped the (non-SU) grad hats BEFORE I embossed it.  The verse was one I love to use in Graduation cards and wanted to add it to my line up because I get MANY requests to have scripture included on my cards.  I printed it out using my WORD program.  Super simple to do and it gives me such a great way to add words to a card when I don't have a stamp for it.

Graduate-ing Color

Wednesday, April 22, 2015
This card is a graduating color scheme of our "yellows": So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Hello Honey.  I cased this idea from Mary Fish but made it the school colors for Hudsonville and added the polka dots using the embossing folder and my Big Shot.  This card is teamed up with the CRAZY ABOUT YOU stamp set which is full of fabulous words.
I love the HELLO YOU Thinlits (which are on the unorderable list right now - that shows you how popular they have been). I will give you all a heads up when they become available because you are going to WANT these thinlits in your stash of supplies for your card making and scrapbooking.
HERE are the ingredients that I used on today's card.  I put in the bundles but you can purchase the stamp set separate from the Thinlits if you desire.  Buying as a bundle saves you 15%

Class of 2015

Tuesday, April 21, 2015
This is a super-duper simple card to make - perfect if you need to make several graduation cards this year.  This card is out TODAY at my COME STAMP WITH ME CLASS.  So if you are in the area please stop by, and you can make as many or as few as you want/need.  It's a little hard to see on the photo that I used the LUCKY STARS embossing folder on the Basic Black card stock, but it gives it just that little bit of dimension instead of a "flat" card.
The stamp set used is called CLASS OF 2015 (how appropriate!)  I also used Brushed Gold Card Stock and the image is heat embossed with Whisper White onto Basic Black.
Here are the ingredients that I used on todays card

Happy Graduation

Monday, April 20, 2015
This week is GRADUATION CARD WEEK.
One of the gals on my team created this card, and I loved it so much I wanted to try making it in the Hudsonville colors.  I will be needing a variety of cards for the consignment shop where I sell my cards, and selling the cards using the local school colors is always a good bet, but I REALLY like Lynda's original card best. She used the WORK OF ART stamp set along with GORGEOUS GRUNGE and TEENY TINY WISHES - a staple for any stamper!  Her colors are Basic Gray, Silver Encore and Sahara Sand.
I used her idea of making the grad cap but used the CURLY LABEL PUNCH for the base.  My colors are Night of Navy and Crushed Curry.
The Hudsonville High School stamp is one I purchased from a local crafting store MANY years ago! It has been super-duper handy to have on hand.

Just Kidding Final Day

Friday, April 17, 2015
This is the final day to share with you the JUST KIDDING stamp set so I actually have 2 cards to show you.  Be sure to scroll all the way down to see the second card.   I hope you have enjoyed each card and will want a set for yourself.  I bet as you saw each card you had ideas running through your head of cards that you could make and of people who you could make them for.  I sure had fun making them!!  This final card layout was inspired by Karen Leveille and I used my stack of ALL ABLOOM PAPER that comes in a pack of 48 - 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" sheets, 4 each of 12 designs.
on the inside it says "that is not even a question!"  I just love how cute they all turned out.  If you come to my stamp a stack classes or are in my down line you receive cute cards like this from me when you have a birthday!! - Just sayin'!
Card #2 for today:
I used an old stamp set called IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY because I wanted a different greeting on it.  This card will actually be featured some day at one of my COME STAMP WITH TUESDAY classes.
I used the fun STACKED WITH LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER STACK.  The little strip on the left was just a leftover piece when I cut the front down to size that I thought gave a little more color to the inside.

Card inspired by: Pinterest (had no link to a person :().  I changed up the coloring, used the polka dots instead of the hearts, and of course, the greeting, but either way it is a cute card!

To Stamp or Not to Stamp?

Thursday, April 16, 2015
To stamp or not to stamp? That is not even a question!! I LOVE my stamp room and I can spend hours upon hours in it - it just makes me happy when I am down there.
This is card #4 using the JUST KIDDING stamp set.
I teamed it up with the Birthday Bash Designer Paper
and the T was cut out using the LITTLE LETTERS DIES
I am anxious for my craft room to be completed so that I can do a video for you all.
I am sure some of my stamping gals will be getting this fun card in the mail some day.

Just Kidding part 1

Monday, April 13, 2015
This week I am going to feature the stamp set called JUST KIDDING.  This fun new stamp set came out in March as a part of the once-a-month photopolymer new stamp set program.  The sad part is that these stamps are not in any catalog so you have to rely on demonstrators like me to keep you in the loop.  I must say that this has been a best seller for me personally, I bet you will want one too.
If you need to see a clearer image click HERE, then go ahead and place your order!!
So here is my card for today...

maybe closer to 7 1/2 on these next ones
First day of school 2nd grade. He is holding a first day of school gift for his teacher that Gramma made, it is becoming quite a tradition

Silly Saturday

Saturday, April 11, 2015
This past week has been so much fun!  It always is when my sister, Lynette, comes in from South Jersey for a visit. Lynette is only 3 years older than me (I'm the baby) so we are probably the most alike.
She arrived on Monday afternoon and then on Tuesday we (Mom, Dad, Judy and I) headed up to Grant where our fourth sister, Vicky, works and just bought a home.  We are so happy for them as they have been staying with her in-laws to help them out for several years now. (She really has the best heart of all of us).  If you have watched my blog for some time now, Vicky is the one that crushed her knee in a simple fall, had surgery to bolt it together and then in the last 4-6 weeks had a knee replacement.  We were amazed how well she is doing, she doesn't even walk with a limp!
We saw this sign for a junky little store and had to stop (even though the store was not open) to get this picture.  This was the only day that all 4 sisters could be together. We are standing by age: Judy, Vicky, Lynette and myself.
Wednesday was a fun afternoon that Lynette and I had a chance to go the mall.  You see, she got Dale and I hooked on watching an old TV show on Netflix called CHUCK which ran from 2007-2012.
This is what Wikipedia says about it...

Chuck is an American action-comedy/spy-drama television series created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an "average computer-whiz-next-door" named Chuck, played by Zachary Levi, who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend now working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The message embeds the only remaining copy of a software program containing the United States' greatest spy secrets into Chuck's brain.

We have had so much fun watching this show, not sure why we never watched it when it was on TV, but thanks to Netflix we are able to watch it now.  If you haven't seen it, you should give it a try.
Anyway...Chuck wears these black Converse shoes with everything.  At first I thought it was a bit different, but it really fit his NERD HERD persona on the show.  Lynette and I decided that we NEEDED to get a pair of CHUCK shoes.  So on Wednesday we hit the mall to find some CHUCK shoes.  What a blast when we went into TRADEHOME shoe store where they have the greatest sales guys EVER!  Low and behold our sales guy was: wait for it: CHUCK!! we laughed so hard!  He fit us with some CHUCK shoes, but of course we had to go to EVERY other store in the mall to make sure we got a good price, but when it came right down to it, these were the best and we LOVED our Chuck!  He even put on a pair of Chuck shoes and had his picture taken with us.
We decided that Lynette was going to buy me a pair for my birthday and I would buy her a pair for her birthday (next week) - this makes them even more special!!
The store manager gave me his email address and asked me to send him the photo - how fun is that!!  We actually had all the shoppers in that little store laughing and joining in on our fun!
Back to CHUCK! His character is played by Zachary Levi
and like I said, he always wore these shoes.  This is him with his buddy, Morgan.
You might remember Zachary Levi in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS THE SQUEAKQUEL as Toby Seville. (2009)
Head on over to NETFLIX to give CHUCK a try - see, there are those shoes again!!
OH! and if the show couldn't be any better - they added SCOTT BAKULA as Chuck's father!! WOOT WOOT!! my all time favorite!!
Yup! He's a good guy!!  Chevy Chase plays the bad guy
It was a short but sweet visit, can't wait for her to come again!!
Thanks for stopping by and indulging me!!
