A C3 Christmas Card Swap

Thursday, October 15, 2015
Please use Hostess code: ANWC9P9G for the month of October.
Last night was our monthly Team Meeting with the entire Red Hot Stamper Group.  Glenda does such a great job keeping our team informed of all the new things going on in Stampin' Up! and encouraging us in our own businesses.  Once a quarter she allows my wonderful team of ladies from Christi's Creative Crew join in on the monthly meeting, and this was a perfect time with the new plan that started up in October.  Just wanted to say how much I appreciate her leadership.
My team of ladies wanted to do a Christmas Card Swap with just our group and October was the chosen month.
I wasn't sure what stamp set I wanted to use for the swap so I asked Gracie to pick one out for me.  After looking in the Holiday Catalog she chose the PEACEFUL PINES stamp set and she specified which tree she wanted me to use. I will just say that if I were to pick a set (and-or a tree from that set) I would not have chosen either (I don't think).
I knew that I wanted to make a winter scene with sponging, but needed a little inspiration so I went to Pinterest and found a beautiful card by the talented Jan Tink.  We are told that if we change up a card only by 10% we can call it our own.
I started out with making 3 masks to create the shape of the landscape.  My intention was to use POOL PARTY INK, but after I inked up my sample/trial card I realized that my POOL PARTY INK was messed up and it was a blend of Pool Party and MINT MACRON, and the card stock for the base of the card fit better with the MINT MACRON so I thought I would just go with it - loved the outcome!!
The tree in the foreground and the one on the envelope is from PEACEFUL PINES while the others (embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder) are from FESTIVAL OF TREES and the "Merry Christmas" is from PETITE PAIRS.
At the very end I spritzed it with some Champagne Shimmer which sadly is now retired.
