If you are still on the fence about subscribing to Paper Pumpkin, now is the time to get on the band wagon.
The December Paper Pumpkin was fabulous - here is just a teaser of the alternate projects that we came up with (collectively as a group)
And as agreed I can show you one of those beautiful cards (designed by Glenda Calkins)
Each month you will receive a PDF of several alternate ideas - it's a win win situation.
The December kit was such a big hit that they sold out of the refill kits within hours.  This shows how popular these kits are getting.  You get a cute little box of inspiration every month including an ink spot and everything you need to make up the project with the instructions they give you.  Please click HERE to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin under me.

We will tie up loose ends here today and fly home tomorrow, arriving later in the evening.  We have been blessed with a wonderful time with my sister, Lynette, and her husband, Rich.
On Sunday we went to church to hear a young Chaplin preach who Rich mentored and we got to meet his adorable wife.  What a special time.
After lunch out with them we parted ways and decided to take a tour of the MYSTERY CASTLE in Phoenix.  Here are some photos...

Here is the story behind this MYSTERY CASTLE...
The reality of dying was thrust upon Boyce Gully in his prime. Choosing not to live a life of quiet desperation awaiting the end, he ran away from home, family and friends.
Those were sad but wondrous times of soul searching and physical creativity. In his heart was permanently etched the vision of those precious moments when he and his little girl, Mary Lou, built sand castles on the beach in Seattle. How she would cry when the tide washed them away. “Please, Daddy, build me a big and strong castle someday that I can live in. Maybe you ought to build it on the desert where there is no water.”
He would just smile. Perhaps, it wasn’t a coincidence that he migrated to Arizona. He built Mary Lou a native stone castle - eighteen rooms, thirteen fireplaces (because he was the youngest of 13 children in his family), parapets (a low protective wall along the edge of a roof, bridge, or balcony) and many charming nooks and crannies, then furnished it with southwestern antiques.
Boyce Gully died in 1945 before he could send for his family. His “princess” was an adult when she moved into her “castle” and began living her fairy tale, perpetuating her dream. She shared her “home” by giving guided tours of her beloved Mystery Castle until her death in 2010.
What a unique story.  I can't believe the daughter lived there so long because it is NOT your "normal" castle.
A treat for us to end the day was to have a short visit with our high school friend and her hubby who live in Phoenix.  We were here for their wedding in 1984 when Julie (age 5) and Jeff (age 3) were the miniature bride and groom.  We get to see Diana each year when she visits family in MI, but it was nice to be able to see where they live, and David again.
Thanks for stopping by!
