May All Your Dreams Come True - Be Careful What You Dream!!

Thursday, December 12, 2019
So this is what happened yesterday - Fusion of the big toe, left foot. this is the 4th surgery on this area which all started with a bunion problem.  Let's all hope and pray that it is the LAST!!
Thought I would go home with a "boot" or a "shoe" but ended up with a huge cast
It goes all the way up to my knee

And this is my view for 17 - yes, SEVENTEEN days!! I can only let it dangle for 10 minutes or less so basically I can get up to go to the bathroom.  When I get sick of my bed I might sit in the living room for short spells
After 17 days I can get around more but total no weight bearing is 8 weeks!
I was SOOOOO blessed that not one, but two of our pastors showed up in the morning before we left for the surgery center to read scripture and pray over me.

The dogs thought that they were here to visit them.
Didn't get a picture of our lead teaching Pastor because he was behind me - laying his hands on me and praying, and Dale didn't think to snap a photo, but this is Keoni, our lead teaching pastor

The great thing was that last Sunday he spoke about Jesus - Mighty God - Isaiah 9:6
He is the MIGHTY CALMER, the MIGHTY HEALER, our MIGHT DEFENDER, and our MIGHTY CONQUEROR.
At one point in the sermon he said "why aren't we lining up come to an elder meeting to have them pray over us?"  You can view this sermons HERE
Funny (but not so funny) story is that my hubby had a dream prior to the surgery date where the doctor came out after the surgery and said "I'm sorry, we weren't able to save her toe - we had to cut it off" - we had a good laugh about that one! Good thing not all our dreams come true!  When he texted them after surgery he told them "good news - she still have 5 toes!)
So I just had to make up this card using the LEAVE A LITTLE SPARKLE Stamp Set combined with the STILL SCENES Bundle.
I thought the sentiment: "Make Your Dreams Come True" was so funny in regards to Dale's dream, and this shaker card is truly a step above card.
This card was inspired by Mikaela who is one the the ARTISAN designers with Stampin' Up! This group of stampers are what I consider to be "a cut above". It was fun to recreate this card.
What I changed up was to add the SUBTLE Embossing Folder to the front piece of Whisper White (4 x 5-1/4)
Here are the products used on this card:
Stamp Sets: Leave a Little Sparkle, Still Scenes
Paper: Purple Posy, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Silver Foil
Ink: Memento, Basic Black, Versa Mark
Stampin' Blends: So Saffron light, Flirty Flamingo light, Pool Party dark
Tools: Snow Globe Scenes Dies, Snowglobe Shaker Domes, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder, Iridescent Sequin Assortment, Wink Of Stella, Whisper White Twine, Frosted Flower Embellishments, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Ice Stampin' Glitter

I was going through some extra stuff laying around in my craft room and found this Designer Paper. I had purchased some Disney paper several years ago and this one was part of the Frozen theme with Olaf the snowman. I cut away the word portion to make my own card front.
I added a cute little snowman from the SNOWMAN SEASON Stamp Set (bundled with the SNOWMAN BUILDER PUNCH)  and a snowflake from the November Paper Pumpkin Kit.
What a quick and easy card to make.
This is my someone worth melting for...

These are the 4 cards that are out for you to make at today's class.

Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper really works on this first card. With the SAILING HOME BUNDLE
This will be our very last Christmas card this year, and good news! The Feels Like  Frost Specialty Designer Paper will be back for the 2020 Holiday Catalog!! Woot!! Woot!! I am using a retired Christmas stamp set for the sentiment as well as the Hearth and Home window die.
I love this wedding card with just a touch of Purple Posy Stampin' Blends and silver. The Silver Foil flower is from the WILD ROSE DIES. Also used: STITCHED LABELS DIES (circle), PIECE OF CAKE Stamp Set, Cake Builder Punch, Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stitched Shapes Dies, Tufted Embossing Folder
Product used: HEALING HUGS Stamp Set, Subtle Designer Series Paper - retired,  Tufted Embossing Folder, Retired Ribbon (Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green reversible), Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana Inks

There are Many More DistINKtive Stamp Sets in the catalogs. If you need a copy for yourself, please let me know and I will be happy to get one to you.
In order - these cards were inspired by: 1: a Swap card I received at On Stage, 3: Gail Ellis & 4: my friend Julie Gilson

Sentimental Sunday!

Sunday, December 8, 2019
You have seen me post before about my dad being in WW11, we all are so very proud of him.
He was on ship, but was able to see when they raised the most famous flag of Iwo Jima. Something that is so amazing to be able to witness
Recently he attended a Veterans dinner at a local church, and while there, he met a man who had gone to Iwo Jima and had collected a bucket full of the volcanic sands from the beach of Iwo Jima.
He heard my dad's story on the WOOD TV 8 News and made sure that he met him that night and then he gifted him with this tube containing the volcanic sands.
He wanted to protect them so he made this wooden cradle and asked me to make a label so he could display it without the worry of it breaking
It's kind of nice to have a hero in the family (of course, don't tell him he's a hero, because he was just doing his job)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed Lord's Day!

Team Christmas Party

Friday, December 6, 2019
We had so much fun at our team Christmas party last night.
I'm always so encouraged when there is a good turn out, and we had 14 of us there making my craft room VERY full!
I don't take a lot of pictures because I am living in the moment, enjoying the time with my team, but we had a wonderful spread of yummy foods for our potluck and a fun gift exchange.
The gift I received was a lovely collection of buffalo check ornament & a Michigan magnet, plus some lip exfoliate and lip balm.
Carla made a treat to share with everyone - love the colorful candy canes - so thoughtful, Carla!
We played a fun game of BINGO and the ladies went home with a ton of Stampin' Up! product as well as some goodies from Dale's soaps and candles.
At our November Team Meeting I issued them to a challenge using the empty toilet paper holders that we get in bulk from my hubbies job at our church. They are about 1/3 the size of a normal size and they are a bit more sturdy.
Here are the creative ideas that everyone came up with:
 Lynda made these darling reindeer.
Anna made an ornament for her tree. She colored her Whisper White twine with Poppy Parade and wrapped it all up. The picture really doesn't do it justice. - very cute!
Janell is using hers for her Christmas table settings - So elegant with the Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Paper.
Linda made these darling Easter egg holders. I love the punch art!
Carla stacked 2 of them together and made a cute top hat candy holder.
This is what I made originally to give them an idea of what they could make. It is filled with candies, and is two of the TP holds taped together.
Linda and I had a similar idea for Easter. I had this cute little Easter bunny in my stash so wanted to put it to use on this challenge
And my last idea - I stacked 3 of them together and made a holder for the napkin and silverware for a holiday table setting.
I received some thoughtful gifts last night as well...
Some yummy mug cakes, a beautiful festive kitchen towel, a gift card and Debbie crochets these darling jar toppers. I love the hand made touch!  Thank you Debbie!
Barb shared a yummy bag of Christmas nibble mix.  Crazy that we don't make this during the rest of the year and it is always a favorite. Love the hand stamped tag! Thanks Barb!
This gift is Coffee and Cream - with the cream being some Mary Kay Satin Hands lotion. Cute & clever idea! - Thanks Bonnie!

We would love to have you join our team! Please follow the links below to purchase the Starter Kit or to place your on line order.
