This is For You!

Friday, December 30, 2016
As I eluded to in yesterday's blog - I will be having surgery on my right foot on January 23rd.  In the meantime I have been prepping projects to work on while I sit around recovering.  I'm told as of now, there will be 3 full weeks of absolutely NO WEIGHT BEARING.  If you know me at all you know that I am NOT a sit-around kinda gal so this could be challenging.
One of the projects I cut was some cute little treat bags that I can use for the craft sales next fall.  I made a coordinating card with some scraps left over and already had need to sell it as a gift card holder.
A quick and easy treat bag I saw by Sam Donald aka Pootles.  You can also follow her on Pinterest, she has great ideas and a lot of little boxes and treat holders.
The Designer Paper is CANDY CANE LANE but sadly it is all sold out, but there are tons of great stamps and accessories on the YEAR END CLOSEOUTS
The stamp is called TIN OF TAGS and you can find it on the YEAR END CLOSEOUTS.

Thanks so much for your faithful business this past year!

Nailed It! - Sneak Peek

Thursday, December 29, 2016
One of the Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that I follow faithfully is Rachel Tessman.  She is the one that started the Facebook Page for Paper Pumpkin (Paper Pumpkin Fan Club).  She has fabulously creative ideas, and this is a box that she featured on YouTube.  I changed it up with different Designer Paper (URBAN UNDERGROUND - found in the upcoming Occasions Catalog) and added the tools from the NAILED IT! Bundle - also found in the upcoming Occasions Catalog. Instead of one of those cute paper straws as a handle I added a pencil.
You can check out Rachel's original HERE
I think this will make a great Father's Day gift filled with treats for your favorite handy man.  The finished size is 2" x 2" x 2" (not including the points.)
Don't forget to check out the YEAR END CLOSE-OUTS
You have through January 3rd to get in on the deals and not miss out on the items that are leaving (forever)
Thanks for stopping by!

What a fun gift this was to receive.  Inez made a wrapper to tuck the gift inside.  Kind of like a cupcake wrap. (I saved it for a pattern!)
A cute little note card size (3x3) with a mitten cut out of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Paper Pack
 Cozy socks tucked inside
And the PERFECT greeting stamped inside.
Here is a little update on me...
On January 23rd I will be having more foot surgery and these cozy socks will be perfect for recovery time.
I will keep you up to date as the time draws nearer.

Wonderful Winterland

Friday, December 23, 2016
The third Thursday of the month is devoted to working together on our Paper Pumpkin Kits.  I would love to have you subscribe through me (CLICK HERE) and join us in this fun Paper Pumpkin Work Play Night.
This month I worked on my November Kit because my December Kit had not arrived yet.
What a darling kit!!
This is what the kit was intended to make...
These cards are small, but so much fun!!
I added the intended card to a standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base. CASED from Linda K
Pool Party, Whisper White, Old Olive and Soft Sky are the card stock colors used.
I CASED this idea from Tami H.  I absolutely LOVE this one !!  Added the WOODLAND Embossing Folder and some SILVER GLIMMER PAPER and SILVER FOIL to make this really shine!! I also added the SILVER 1/8" ribbon.
Since I made my cards a standard A2 size I was left with the 8 little envelopes.  This next idea for a gift card holder was found on Pinterest (my favorite search engine), but I do not have the name of the original artist/demonstrator.
I sealed the envelope then cut off 1/4" from one of the sides to make the pocket.  Since I used all my landscape pieces on my cards I pulled out my SLEIGH RIDE EDGELITS (retired) to make my own. I cut the little cards (included in the kit) and cut them down the center where it is scored. I used one half for the front and the second half for the inside. I absolutely love the way they turned out!  Gift Card Holders were my hottest seller during (and after) craft sale season, so I am glad to have some of these on hand for next Christmas.

The final special order card - and this one I made 185 of them!!
To step this card up add some rhinestones on the center of the butterfly.  Maybe even adding some sponging along the edges of the Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  When making this many corners can be cut just a bit.  She doesn't want the rhinestones so I made the stepped up version available for the ladies to stamp yesterday at my COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY CLASS.
Stamps: Watercolor Trio (R), Rose Wonder
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Mint Macron
INK: Crumb Cake, Mint Macron, Memento Black
Extras: Ribbon (I used up a bunch of retired white ribbons), Wide Oval Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Rhinestones, Sponges, Dimensionals
I would love to earn your business too! Please hop over to my on line store to place your order. CLICK HERE. Be sure to check out the year end clearance items.  The new Occasions Catalog and Sale a bration period starts on January 4th. But don't miss out on the products that are retiring.  Get them by January 3rd.

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, December 18, 2016
Decorating the Christmas Tree is always a special day for us because we have the grand kids come to help us.  For 12 years it has been Tyler and then Gracie, but this year was Sawyer's first year to join us.
Sawyer made sure all the needles were vacuumed up
Each year we get the kids a new ornament for our tree.  When they grow up and move out on their own they will get to take their ornaments with them.  They are chosen based on their likes for that year or a special event for the past year.
These are the ornaments that we had for them this year.  They were purchased on our trip to Arizona.
Sawyer's... We got the biggest laugh when we realized that people in Arizona decorated their yard cactuses for Christmas.  Very cool!
Little Miss Lilyanna was not in the picture on our trip to Arizona so this is the one she got for her first Christmas ornament.
The older the kids get the higher their ornaments land on a tree
This is all new to Sawyer and he was mesmerized
Sawyer quickly wanted to pitch in and hang ornaments too.

 Gotta love Gracie's photo-bomb
The final product.
The Little People Nativity is a great addition to our Christmas decorations
After we decorate the tree we head out for a fun dinner out. It was a beautiful winter day
The restaurant of choice is Steak 'n Shake.  It all started when we took Tyler out the first time when he was 18 months old and now they ALWAYS choose Steak 'n Shake EVERY year.
One of the best things is that Sawyer is finally eating table food.  This was a long journey for him and Jeff & Jess, but he no longer has his G-Tube and he ate his entire grilled cheese sandwich like a champ (in fact, when I look back at the records that I kept on our kids, Sawyer is just a bit bigger than his daddy was at this same age.)

Glassine Sheets (SNEAK PEEK)

Friday, December 16, 2016
This is a SNEAK PEEK for a lovely new product you will find in the NEW Occasions Catalog called Glassine Sheets.  They are 6" x 12" and one sheet will make one of the MINI TREAT BAGS using the Mini Treat Bag Die.  PLUS because the Die to make this bag comes in 2 pieces you will get a second cut for the small section of another bag.
Here is a close up look at the delicate pattern
I thought that it would make a great gift card holder by attaching your gift card to either the front or back, but I really like how the bright print shows through the Glassine.  I am so sure there will be a ton of ideas using this great alternate option instead of regular card stock.  Stay tuned...
Do you have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator? If not, I would love to earn your business and get a NEW Occasions Catalog in your hands.
