School is almost done for the year and this would make a great card to give to the teacher as a HUGE thank you for all the time and influence that she/he put into your child's life this past school year. Don't let this chance slip away without telling your child's teacher how much you appreciate all she/he has done.
Card inspired by Connie Babbert
All cards you see on my blog are available for sale at the Used To Be New Consignment Shop in Hudsonville. Don't live in my area? Just contact me and I will be pleased to mail them out to you.

Another chance to use my MY DIGITAL STUDIO to make a card. I printed out the letter B from NOTEWORTHY NOTES ALPHABET, enlarging to the size I wanted, changed the color to Real Red, and then printed out the sweet Valentine girl from GREETING CARD KIDS, this time shrinking the image down to the size I wanted. Once I printed it out I colored it in with the markers of my choice (I used Blushing Bride for the skin tone, Marina Mist for her dress and socks, Real Red heart and dress highlights, and Crumb Cake for her hair and the part where her slip shows) How cute! Thanks to Christine Biggs for this layout sketch. My favorite Designer Paper FIRST EDITION makes most any card look great!
Playing with the Red Hot Stampers again today!! and this is my take on the challenge
I was working on some Valentine cards using one of my new items purchased through the Clearance Rack called LOTS OF LOVE LETTERPRESS PLATE. So since it is still available in the Clearance Rack (for only $1.59) I guess I won't call it retired, but it is not in any current book. If you want to get your hands on some really good deals, click on the Clearance Rack Icon and start shopping.
This card was cased from Becky Robinson. Want to know how I made the scallop heart border? I punched out an 11" long strip using the Heart Border Punch, ran it through the crimper making the card stock more pliable. I put Red Line Sticky Tape on the back of my circle and then just adhered the Heart Border onto that.
Can you see the difference in the sizes of my little Valentine Girl from the GREETING CARD KIDS stamp set? Well, I have this stamp set on My Digital Studio, so I can increase the size or decrease it to my liking. I had actually made the larger girl but was too large for this second card so I guess my sketch challenge is actually a LUCKY LEFTOVER!! And the Letterpress has the word LOVE going in both directions so it worked for both cards.
Colors used are Real Red, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette

POEM:
A little cup of cocoa
I'm sending your way,
for your to sip and enjoy
On some cold lonely day.
It's warmth will warm your heart
Just like our friendship warms mine
Right from the start
Happy Valentine's Day!
I'm sure I will be using this same pattern for the Christmas Craft Sales and my Snowman soup. It was simple and easy. I gleaned this idea and pattern from Chris Twing. I have seen it on other blogs such as Becky Roberts, but Chris' blog it the one that actually gave me the dimensions. I figured this gave me a great chance to use up some retired Designer Paper.
When Rachel came for our weekly play day I asked her how to do a few things on My Digital Studio because she is a real pro at it.
I learned how to fill an area with designer paper
so I could make blocking like on the sketch challenge.
This is what I came up with...
Kind of plain, I wanted to color the little girl in, and I was too lazy to do it on MDS, so I printed this out, added a card base of Riding Hood Red, then colored in my little girl from GREETING CARD KIDS and added a Riding Hood Red Taffeta bow. The white parts of her coat I envision them to be furry so I added Dazzling Details Glitter Glue so now she sparkles too.
Here is the finished card again...

Hey, did you notice the tile in the background? Dale was able to get it up and hopefully soon he can do the grouting. We also have a great decorative piece going on top. You can watch the progress as you follow my blog, OR better yet, see it in person by attending one of the classes listed above. Thanks For Stopping By! Have A Blessed Day!! Christi
When deciding what to title this post I thought I could call it "Following a Rabbit Trail" but I settled on "They're BAACCKK!!" because a couple weeks ago my play day pals Rachel and Marla were able to pop in for a few hours of stamping play time. We all realized how much we missed our regularly scheduled play stamping days.
Hoping they will start coming back on a regularly scheduled date
Which would be TODAY!!!
I showed them this project that I was working on inspired by the box
shown in the Stampin' Up! Catalog on page 181. Check out this video on on how to make this box.
So Rachel started
coloring in all the cute coffee cups and Marla
attached them after I
tied the ribbon. I normally do my craft sale projects in 12's so
I
automatically stamped 12 of the tags only to realize that I only had
enough coffee
packets to fill 9 boxes, therefore, we had 3 tags left over.
What to do?
Well, I think they look perfect on this little 3x3 card
don't you?
Next project... I asked them to help me decide how to decorate/design
a label or tag for some lotion bottles for the craft sales.
This is Rachel showing off all the coloring that she and Marla did and then
she added the "bling", (Dazzling Details and some ribbon).
Here's the Rabbit Trail...
When I add ribbon to my cards I usually use CRYSTAL EFFECTS #101055 $6.25.
It is an amazing glue (among other things).
We were singing the praises of how much we liked Crystal Effects and I was
saying that I especially like it when I add a large bow -
like on this card...(inspired by Terry Blais)
It really helps to keep the bow from falling off.
At this point Marla said "ooohh I have some Pumpkin Pie ribbon like that"
HMMM...so do I
Since the GREETING CARD KIDS Stamp Set was sitting there from making
the lotion tags we thought "why not use this stamp set and use the same layout"
VOILA!!
I had enough ribbon to make 12 cards... so we did!!
Thanks to my friend Sue who was loaning me the
GREETING CARD KIDS stamp set #119887 $20.95 Wood Mount or
#120633 $15.95 Clear Mount
so we could make such fun things on our play day.
The sentiment is from GRATEFUL GREETINGS
And you know me, I am very GRATEFUL for my play day gals
I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since February 2008 and I LOVE IT! I have been married to Dale, the little boy I fell in love with when we were only 5 years old, for 45 years now. Our three adult children and our married-in children and our 7 wonderful grandchildren are our joy and delight. I am so thankful that they all support me in my Stampin' Up! business.
