Why I Love Tuesdays

Want to know why I love Tuesday's?  Every Tuesday I open my craft room up for ladies to come to stamp with me.  I set out 4 different cards that they can make and they have the opportunity to make one, two or all four cards.  Some will even make more than one of each card.  It is a day filled with surprises because I never completely know who or how many will come to stamp with me.  Some weeks I have left overs and other weeks I need to cut extra, but it is always filled with ladies who have a great time creating.  This is one of the cards that I had out last week for the ladies to make which was inspired by Glenda Calkins.

Some of the ladies needed wedding cards so we went through my catalog of stamps and they chose this one from Label Love, and the "Congratulations" is from Itty Bitty Banners.  They changed up the twine making it into a double bow and I really love the outcome.  That is the beauty of Tuesday's COME STAMP WITH ME class that they are able to change things up if they want to.

Thankful Thursday

There are so many things that I am thankful for and to list every single one would be impossible because I would be sure to miss some (sigh*), but today I wanted to share a Thankful Thursday post.

My dear friend and fellow Red Hot Stamper, Rachel, is a care giver for a sweet little 1 year old guy plus her own 2 year old little guy and therefore we have had to discontinue our weekly girls day where we would get together with our other friend, Marla, and stamp and enjoy one another's company, a little lunch, and a lot of chatting, etc.  Rachel just loves to pitch in and help me to accomplish whatever is on my Stamping agenda.  She got word that her last day to care for her extra little guy ended one week earlier than when her own kiddos get out of school so she said "let's play, what can I help you with?" WOW!! music to my ears!!  We chose Monday of this week and she came for about 4 hours to help me with this BIG ORDER I have for (60) Wedding Invitations that need to be completed and to the bride by the 12th.  CRUNCH TIME!!

This has been quite a process but I AM THANKFUL that Rachel came to help and knocked off 4 hours of the time I would have had to spend doing these myself!  You're the BEST, girl!

Here is the front of the Wedding Invite inspired by Trish Swagerty

And the inside... the front pocket, which is also embossed like the front, holds an RSVP card as well as a Parking Info card.  This is my sample card that I sent to the Bride and Groom so the RSVP Card and the Parking Card are revamped with the correct wording (and not hand written) and the invite area is also just a mock up, but Jessica will get the real deal

I'm Leavin' on a Jet Plane!!

Remember the song "I'm leavin' on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again"... Well, I AM leaving on a (jet) plane and heading to TEXAS for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference.  I am so very excited that my hubby is going with me (again) and this time he is joining me for the Manager's Reception at the Houston Aquarium.  Here is a card I made inspired by Heather North. (sorry Heather does not have a blog to link you to)

Since I only had one friend show up to last weeks COME STAMP WITH ME CLASS I thought the best thing would be is to offer the same cards for another week BUT... I added one more new card to the mix...

And this is the new card out to make today.  This card would be GREAT not only for a Happy New Year card but it could easily be GREAT for a graduation card.  It is never too late to get started on stocking up on those.  I know I can go through a ton during that time.

WHAT A MESS!!

My craft room is a DISASTER!! but it has to get worse before it gets better, right?!

 It's either giant termites or a very busy hubby!!

Today was the day to run all the electrical into the newly studded wall

Red Light, Green Light

What a fun and easy card to send to someone who has recently received their drivers license.  This card was inspired by Brian King (yes, Stampin' Up! has some great masculine stampers out there) 

I used the stamp set LABEL LOVE #130622 $17.95 combined with the ARTISAN LABEL PUNCH #130920 $15.95 to create the traffic lights.  These two items can be bought as a bundle #132722 $28.95 and you save 15% - BONUS!!

Punch Art Class

Next week Tuesday, July 23rd at 7pm, is the next PUNCH ART CLASS.  Here is a glimpse at the punch art cards that we will be making that night. 

 

Punch art was inspired by:, Patty Bennett - Pizza card, Doris Denman - Baby Card, Andi Potler and Patti Lee - car card.

Last month we made a pregnant lady card so this month ist seemed appropriate to make a baby card.  The original punch art for the baby card came from Doris Denman.  My friend and fellow Red Hot Stamper Sara Hoogendoorn made a card using this punch art as well.  Check it out by clicking on Sara's name.

Tyler is off to Summer Camp this week so it is just Gracie and Gramma.  Last week the kids and I stopped in to the Used To Be New Consignment Shop to reload the card rack and while I was busy the kids took a look around the store.  Gracie found a friend for Henry and we just HAD to buy a friend for Henry.  HARRY quickly has made a home here and Gracie had fun instituting him into our day.  He even helped while we prepared lunch.

Then when I was organizing and cleaning my craft room I spotted TOMMY my childhood doll so now Henry has 2 new friends.

Silly? YES! and I love it! The kids that their Gramma is a lot of fun!  Who am I to argue?
We've also been playing games each time they come...Tyler seems to be the overall winner so far.

This is the sketch we had to work with...

I thought I would use one of the retiring stamp sets for my challenge today so I started at A and chose the first set that I thought would fit this challenge.   So a fond Farewell to BABY BUNDLE STAMP SET.

I also used some of the retiring colors...Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery.
