Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!!

I just couldn't be more grateful that my daddy is still with us at nearly 92 years old.
If you have ever spent any time with him you would not believe that he is that old.
He is doing such a great job taking care of Mom.
Here is a family photo taken in March when we were all together

And this is the card that I made for him for Father's Day!

Since my dad served in the Navy during WWll, and still has a love for lighthouses, I thought this would be the perfect card for him.

Christy Bauer on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook page made a bra/swimsuit card using her January 2017 kit so I took inspiration from her and made this elegant bra card thinking it looked like a Victoria's Secret bra and I thought it would be perfect for a bridal shower card - especially if it is a personal shower and you could tuck in a gift card to VS.

Is your hubby the king of the grill like mine is? That is why I chose to make mine for Father's Day.
I love using the WOOD TEXTURES Designer Series 6x6 Paper Stack. It really gives the card that masculine feel.
The little black embellishments also came in the kit BUT they were not black, they came in Flirty Flamingo color, but I used my black Sharpie Marker to color them. I used the small size on the apron and the larger size on the top right section of the card.
Don't you just love the little grilling utensils?  You can get these in the APRON BUILDERS FRAMELITS DIES.

Buy the bundle with the APRON OF LOVE stamp set and save 10%.
The "Happy Father's Day" Stamp is from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit. It is amazing how many times I use the stamps that come with the kits.  You also get an ink spot each month. This is a great way to build up your ink supply!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my sweet Daddy!!
I am so very grateful that he is still here with us especially since he will be 91 years old next month.   He gave us some scares when he had congestive heart failure, but by God's grace he is doing extremely well and has the ability to care for my mom.

My daddy is a hunter and a fisherman. Just recently he was able to do some local fishing off a dock.  I can remember him coming home with buckets filled with smelt and the tedious job of cleaning those tiny little fish never swayed him. So when I saw this cute fishy card on France Martins blog I had to duplicate it for him.

Father's Day Card #3

This is a fun one for Dad! I have two options with this card.  I can either borrow the stamp set from my friend you purchased it (because I did not and now it is retired) OR I can go to My Digital Studio to print one off.  Now the sad part is- My Digital Studio no longer exists so I am very glad that I took advantage of buying it and boat load of down loads when it was assessable because I can continue to use it and print it from home, I just no longer can have things printed through Stampin' Up! nor will I be able to purchase anything new.  So - all that to say - DON'T WAIT to purchase something you might regret not having later.  This fun set is called KING OF THE GRILL, so if you are an eBay shopper you could look there.

I hate to show you things that are retired because it does not boost my sales, but this one was so cute and I didn't have that many Father's Day Cards to share this year so I hope you enjoy some Father's Day humor!

Father's Day Card #2

This card is so appropriate for today's post.

My daddy served in the Navy during WWll and this week Monday -Wednesday he was on the honor trip to Washington DC.  We went to the airport last night to see him and all the others come in.  What a wonderful event they put on for these veterans.
While we waited I captured this photo of my mom looking at my dads Navy photo.  This is what he looked like when they met.  I'm sure there were a lot of memories flooding her mind

 My sister, Vicky, stayed with Mom while Dad was gone because her hubby (a Vietnam Veteran) was my Dad's escort for the trip. The 3 sweet girls are Vicky's grand daughters.  They made posters and were excited to see both of their grandpas come home.

 There were MANY who came that were in wheel chairs, but my Daddy walked strong. I enjoyed seeing him greet all the people who came to welcome them home.

 What a treasure to witness the love my parents still share after 68+ years.

 I guess this could technically be called a Sentimental Sunday Post but while it is fresh in my memory  I wanted to post it today with the Father's Day Card

Wow, am I ever behind the eight ball on posting this one!!

Happy Father’s Day!

I hope all the wonderful fathers out there have an extra special day today!  I am so thankful to still have my own father (aka Daddy) with me.   He is (was) an avid golfer so I thought he would like this card I made from our retired stamp set “And Many Mower.”


I am so glad that the Baja Blue in this designer paper is coming back.
