Indescribable Gift

Monday, March 30, 2015
This week I am not going to feature a specific stamp set.  Instead I am going to feature the Easter cards that I made this year to send out. This stamp is called INDESCRIBABLE GIFT, and that is what Easter is all about - the Indescribable GIFT of our Savior who gave HIS life so we might live.
I used CRYSTAL EFFECTS over the flowers and leaves to make them stand out.
The background is simply sponged with Pink Pirouette for that soft touch.

Sweet Saturday

Saturday, March 28, 2015
I guess I could have titled this Sweet SAWYER Saturday!! I took a little walk to see Sawyer on his very first - FIRST day of Spring so I could bring him a spring time book and read it to him.  He LOVES books and Mommy reads to him ALL the time.  He will probably be an early reader like his daddy (age 4)  Maybe even be an author like his daddy! (Book 4 is nearing completion!).
Adoring eyes? or just wondering who this crazy lady is that keeps showing up!!
One thing is FOR SURE - Sawyer will be musical.  Mommy plays piano and violin, giving lessons in violin as well.  Mommy and Daddy both sing too.  With all that music in the home he will for sure pick it up.  Mommy is already giving him time on the piano and he loves plunking away. She said he can sit there for quite some time.  All I know is he was so happy when he was "playing" the piano!

 look at those fingers fly!!

   Happy baby!!

Pop Up Card

Friday, March 27, 2015
The last card in this weeks weekly feature of the BABY BUMBLEBEE stamp comes with a WOW factor.  When the recipient takes the card out of the envelope this is what they will see...
Not a big WOW yet, is it?
But look! It pops up with all these cute little flying baby bumblebees!  Gracie thought this was the coolest card I've made!  And can I say SOLD?!! yup one of my stamping friends saw it and purchased it from me! SWEET!!
I followed this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers, but I copied Vicki Allanson on using the Baby Bumblebee stamp.
We made this same pop up card in a Projects class last June using The Open Sea stamp set.  Want to join us for a Projects Class?  April's Project Class will be Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm.  Cost: $12 for 3 projects.  (Projects vary month to month so if you have something you have been dying to make/try please let me know)
I challenge you to make one for yourself featuring your favorite stamp set!  So how did you like the BABY BUMBLEBEE stamp of the week?  So cute isn't it!!

Love the Little Things

Thursday, March 26, 2015
I super-duper love this card using the BABY BUMBLEBEE stamp.  I teamed it up with the SO YOU Photopolymer set which is part of the PROJECT LIFE line for scrapbooking.  I am so happy to be able to combine my love of stamping with my love of scrapbooking!  This just shows that the Project Life line is not exclusive to scrapbooking.  I gave Jessica a bunch of the project life items and she is making wonderful cards with them.
This card was on display at the Leadership Conference, and it was super easy to duplicate.  The strips on the bottom of the card are WASHI TAPE!  Have you ever tried this stuff? It is FABULOUS!!  I stamped the baby bumblebee on the card and then stamped a second one, cut it out and layered it on top so his wings could "flap". (I went back and added Dazzling Details to the wings so they could sparkle)
Here is what you will need to duplicate this card:

The second card for today is another of my favorites by Erica Cerwin. The Hello Honey Twine is something you can get FREE during Sale a bration so it is still not too late to take advantage of this great deal.  With your $50 order (before S&H and tax) you get to choose 1 item FREE from any of the Sale a bration items.

Floating on a Cloud

Wednesday, March 25, 2015
This is day 3 on the BABY BUMBLE BEE Single Stamp.  Are you liking what you see?  The card for today was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. I love the little booties dangling (from the Bundled Baby stamp set), it gives this sweet card the perfect dimension, and don't you LOVE the cute little buttons?

All Bundled Up!

Tuesday, March 24, 2015
This first card was one that Shelly Gardner demonstrated on stage during the Leadership conference. She cut off the wings of the Bumble Bee so it looks just like a baby.  Then created an envelope bunting for him to fit inside.  The little hat was stamped a second time and popped up to create dimension.  I used a tiny eyeshadow applicator and some Blushing Bride Ink for the rosy cheeks. The button is tied using the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon by cutting the side stitching off and pulling off a strand. You could, however, just use the Linen Thread - they are equally good products, I kind of like the kinky look to the Burlap Ribbon though.
Here is what you will need to duplicate this card:

This second card is featured in the Occasions Catalog.  The Stampin' Up! catalogs are the perfect resource for ideas in your card making and scrapbooking.

Baby Bumblebee & Craft Room Update

Monday, March 23, 2015
A new week means a new stamp set to feature!  For this week I am going to feature the single stamp called BABY BUMBLEBEE

This single stamp is only $7.95 and comes in wood mount only.  What I did before I mounted the stamp on the wood block was to cut away the words and mount them on the side of the block.  That way I am not obligated to use those words every time I use the stamp.  If you hesitate to cut your stamp apart you can always use the masking technique.
The 2 cards I am sharing today are cards using the HONEYCOMB Embossing Folder which is on sale right now with today being the LAST DAY to get in on these weekly deals.
This first one was inspired by Melissa Davies and instead of a baby card it is a "mom-to-be" card. Perfect for a baby shower.  The finished card measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" so that the embellishments could hang off the edge yet still fit in the envelope.
For this one I inked up the HONEYCOMB Embossing Folder with Soft Suede ink and instead of running it through the Big Shot, I just lightly rubbed it with my hand.
Supplies needed to duplicate this card:

This second card is also using the HONEYCOMB embossing folder and was inspired by Eimear Carvill.  This time I embossed the HONEYCOMB using the Big Shot for a raised embossed effect.
Supplies you will need to duplicate this card (BTW this card is one that we will be making at the April Stamp a Stack classes)

So DON'T WAIT be sure to get your order in TODAY if you want to take advantage of the sales on the WEEKLY DEALS. You also have only 8 more days to get in on the Sale a Bration FREE items with your $50 order. Here are some new items added to the list of product that you can get FREE

If you stayed with me looking at my entire blog post you can now see an up date on my cabinet that Dale is building for me in the craft room under our stairway.  I can hardly wait until it is complete!  I want to fill up all those drawers!! Actually I already have put some of my class supplies in a drawer - just to see how it will fit!! LOL!!  The top piece goes (today) to the guy who will put the formica on it.  So thankful for friends who have all the equipment and talent!!  I think Dale is tired of me asking "what's the next step?"

Coloring Techniques

Saturday, March 21, 2015
Oh NO!! The Blendabilities Markers are gone!! However am I going to color my images??
Are you asking yourself this question?  I know that I loved the Blendabilities and I will still be using them in my personal card making and I will continue to use them at the COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY classes, but Stampin' Up! has so many ways to color your images all you need to do is choose what works best for your card.  Here are 3 videos you can watch for some great ideas in coloring.

I hope you found these to be helpful.  Stampin' Up! has a ton of tutorial videos out there so if you want to look up anything please go to youtube.com and type in Stampin' Up! Tutorials in the search bar.  This alone could keep you busy for HOURS!! but don't get too sucked in or you won't have any time to MAKE your cards.  The tutorials will be there forever so go ahead and search out what you are looking for and then put the new technique to work!!

Sweet Saturday

Last weekend was the annual Women's Retreat (Grace Girls Get-Away) for our church.  I have been on the committee for several years now, and this year one of the treats we had for the ladies was a cupcake.  Our color scheme was Chalkboard Black and a Turquoise Blue, so the frosting HAD to reflect our color scheme.
Each cupcake was individually packaged with a scripture verse on top.
I even made gluten free ones for the ladies who needed it. (they were delish!)
I think they really enjoyed them!

This card, inspired by Melissa Davies combines my love for this stamp set as well as my love for punch art (& Chocolate!!) LOVE<LOVE<LOVE this card
When I said this was my favorite saying of all the sentiments in this set, my friend said "well, it depends on the day!"  Made me laugh out loud!  Rachel is always good for a belly laugh!  Love her quick wit and humor!!

Would you like to see what else you will need to make this card? (the embossing folder on the chocolates is the retired Square Lattice)

Can't Thank You Enough

Thursday, March 19, 2015
Every time I see this cute little birdie stamp, I think of my friend, Jackie, who loves birds.  She has a sweet Goffin Cockatoo of her own named Squiggy,
but this little bird (after seeing someone post it) is probably one like this called a bee eater bird. Aren't they colorful!
I used the LOVELY AMAZING YOU stamp set
for the sentiment and the little bird stamp set A HAPPY THING is one you can get FREE with your $50 purchase during Sale a bration!  The time is coming to a close SOON - you have until March 31st to get in on this great deal.  Yes, I used my Blendabilities Markers that are now unavailable (manufacturer problems - sorry), but this card will be out during next week Tuesday's COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY class, and you can make as many or as few as you want/need.

Monday, March 16, 2015
This week I am featuring the Photopolymer Stamp Set called LOVELY AMAZING YOU.  This set is not found in any of our catalogs so it can easily get overlooked.  Stampin' Up! comes out with a new Photopolymer set once a month so stay tuned for future stamp sets coming out!
Today I will share a card inspired by Lisa Young.  After a fabulous birthday I had a few Thank you's that I needed to send out, and I LOVED this one!!
The envelope stamp was embossed with clear embossing powder.  The words and feather was embossed with gold embossing powder.  The sponging is done in Baked Brown Sugar.  The Designer Paper is called Typeset Specialty Paper
