Sweet Saturday

Saturday, November 29, 2014
Well, I did not take as many pictures yesterday with Gracie as I had hoped, but we sure did have a fun day.  I guess the "SWEET" part of our day would be the Cinnamon Roll Casserole we made for our breakfast style lunch.  It has been somewhat of a tradition to have breakfast for lunch on the day after Thanksgiving when the grandkids would be over.  Tyler always loved to make the scrambled eggs but this year it was all Gracie.  Tyler did see several deer while hunting yesterday but no luck in bagging one.
Gracie was so excited to tell her mom that Gramma let her use a BIG knife to cut with, just look at her eyes!!
This is what the Cinnamon Roll Casserole looked like prior to baking...
Want the recipe?
Crock Pot Cinnamon Roll Casserole from Gooseberry Patch's Slow Cooker Christmas Favorites.
Ingredients
  • 2 12 oz tubes of cinnamon rolls cut into quarters- divided
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Spray your crock with cooking spray.
  2. Place a layer of cinnamon roll pieces to cover the bottom of your slow cooker. (Reserve icing packets)
  3. Beat eggs, cream, maple syrup, vanilla and spices until blended well.
  4. Pour evenly over the rolls in the slow cooker.
  5. Place remaining roll pieces on top and spoon one packet of icing evenly over rolls.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 2½ to 3 hours or until sides are golden and rolls are set.
  7. Drizzle remaining icing over top and serve warm.
Gracie also helped me to transfer the new family photos into the existing frames on our wall.  Not sure why I procrastinated on this - maybe I just needed my little helper, but I am glad it is done now.  Do you like my generic family in the top left spot? I forgot to order the photo of all the girls together so that will be in there soon.   This is the frame behind our couch...
This is the proud grandparent wall.  Yes, I know the 1 frame going the opposite direction is going to bug me all year, but the photo was too precious not to display it.
And this is what we see as soon as we enter our door!
LOVE MY FAMILY!!  We are so blessed!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my SWEET SATURDAY

BLACK? Friday??

Friday, November 28, 2014
I am not a girl who rushes to all the sales on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  I suppose if there was absolutely something I couldn't live without I might give it a try.  Even the $10 off coupons for a purchase of $10 or more doesn't intrigue me.  The older I get the more I embrace the on line shopping and have it shipped right to my door!  Just a few more little things to pick up for stockings and my shopping is complete for this Christmas!
WHAT DO I DO on the Friday after Thanksgiving??  I get to spend the day with my grand kids while Mommy works!  Normally Tyler helps Grampa put up the Christmas tree and put on the the lights then Tyler and Gracie get to hang all their ornaments on the tree that we have bought them over their years.  This year the ornaments we purchased are to support orphans in Africa with a program called Ornaments4Orphans that our church is supporting.  When we purchase these we are helping a mom to support her children so they do not need to live in poverty.  Now, I say, this is what Christmas is about!!  These are the ornaments we chose...

A giraffe for Gracie, of course, a lion for Tyler a zebra for Sawyer and of course I HAD to get a little elephant for myself!!  I love having one more grand baby to buy for this year!!
This year is a bit different as Tyler is getting older and has more opportunities to do things - he is hunting today with his karate Master, Master Rick!  What an amazing connection this has been for Julie and Tyler - it is WAY MORE than just learning Karate - they have a whole second family with them and we are so very thankful!!
Gracie, Grampa and I are spending the day together so tune in tomorrow for our SWEET SATURDAY post.

Thanks for SHOPPING by!

Pocketful of Birthday Wishes

Wednesday, November 26, 2014
Before I get started on today's post - don't forget to check out the deals at Stampin' Up! with their ON LINE EXTRAVAGANZA! You can click HERE for the details

Then Click HERE to start shopping with me and while you are there you can purchase the Starter Kit.  $125 worth of product for only $74.25 this is a 25% savings and what a fab deal!! It won't last long though - only through DEC 2!
Normally I would do a Throw Back Thursday post tomorrow but I wanted to share a Thanksgiving card in tomorrows post so I am one day early to share this Throw Back Thursday card.  You may have noticed that a lot of my TBT cards I have been using the retired stamp set POCKET FUN.  I am thankful that my friend Nancy lets me borrow this stamp set.  On Tuesday's I have a COME STAMP WITH ME class that is held open house style - "come when you can and leave when you must."  On this day I have the freedom to use retired stamps and product.  Many times I still use what is current but I love the freedom to use other favorites.  At the craft sale last Saturday I had this card on my rack to sell and one of the gals who comes occasionally to my Tuesday class said she would really like me to have this one out to make.  I love having them give me ideas like that, it takes the pressure off of trying to come up with ideas all the time.
I took the layout idea from Sarah B at Splitcoaststampers.com and used some retired Stampin' Up! Chevron Designer Paper, but I had to go to our local craft store to find a denim look paper for the pocket.  Let me tell you right now...the quality of the Stampin' Up! paper is far superior to the stuff in the stores, BUT sometimes you just need to get something to match perfectly.  All that being said - I no longer can get the Chevron Designer Paper so when we make this card at a Tuesday class it will take on a whole new look.
So if it is your birthday today - I wish you a pocketful of birthday fun!
Like this card, but need an birthday card for a child?  Well, try this one...
How fun! I love his little googly eyes staring at me!
Thanks for HOPPING by!

Have Your Elf a Very Merry Christmas

Tuesday, November 25, 2014
Tonight is Projects Class and we are doing some PUNCH ART.  This is just one of the three projects we will be making and it is a little different than what we normally do for a punch art class but I thought it was very appropriate with all the gifts you will be giving to friends and family this Christmas.  What a fun way to doll up a plain old white paper bag!! Of course, I was inspired by the fabulous Lorri Heiling.  After I took this photo I added some silver 1/8" ribbon to the little elf shoes. You can find that ribbon HERE
Once I got started I wanted to make a dozen of these because they are soooooo cute!! (and easy) I will be using one for my White Elephant gift when the Red Hot Stampers have their Christmas party next week!!
Don't forget about the ON LINE EXTRAVAGANZA going on right now... Click HERE to see the list of sale items (FYI: the Red Glimmer Paper on the elf shoes is 50% off right now! a great time to stock up) and then click HERE to start shopping.  Please use the HOSTESS CODE XRGZQTSX. Everyone who places an on line order during the ON LINE EXTRAVAGANZA will be put in drawing for a FREE stamp set (I have 5 brand new sets to choose from) or you can choose 2 stamp sets from my retired bin!!
Have you been on the fence whether to buy a BIG SHOT or not?  This is the perfect time because from now until Dec 2 you can purchase the Starter Kit at 25% off - so for ONLY $74.25 + tax (FREE shipping on all Starter Kits) you get to choose $125.00 worth of product so you could choose a BIG SHOT and still have $25 more to spend and get it all for only $74.25!!  You will never be sorry with this machine - FABULOUS!!  Stretch out your $125 by buying from the ON LINE EXTRAVAGANZA and get products at a discount.  If you have any questions please contact me at christiwaite@gmail.com  I would love to have you a part of Christi's Creative Crew!!

I just wanted to share with you the card that I made for the gals in my Down Line - I am especially thankful for them being a part of my team.  This card was inspired by Brenda Sprenger
