Perfectly Plaid

Wednesday, February 5, 2025

Today I am featuring the PERFECT PLAID 6x6 Designer Paper

I think that this patterned paper really lends itself to some masculine cards, and this card for today I saw this layout/design at a local craft store.

It took a bit of figuring out because all I had was a photo, but I finally got it to where I was satisfied.

The hardest part was the angle of the collar and because I didn't want the plaids to line up, it actually takes more than one sheet of the 6x6 Designer Paper. For the buttons I used a 3/8" circle punch then added the two little dots for the button holes using the Black Stampin' Write Marker.

I popped up the collar with Stampin' Dimensionals

For the birthday greetings I used KEEPING TABS Stamp Set. My card base color is Very Vanilla.

Because this pack of paper comes in such a variety of colors/plaids, each shirt will look just a bit different. I am sure that my Tuesday stampers will enjoy making this card.

*on a side note - this designer paper is so popular that is it currently unavailable but should come back in stock the week of February 10th*

Grassy Grove

Tuesday, July 25, 2023

Today's card is one that we made at our class last week. My dad was a huge hunter. He loved to deer hunt, but he also would hunt for rabbit and squirrel. Growing up our meals were full of wild game. I'm betting he would love this card!

I try to have one masculine card out each week. These are the harder ones for me because not every man is a sports enthusiast or a hunter. I have purpled out some retired stamp sets recently and everyone was crazy about them. I guess that shows I need to hang on to some of those favorites.

But this card uses all current products except for the Stitched Rectangles

Base: Misty Moonlight

Designer Paper: Star Gazing

Dies: Grassy Grove, Stitched Rectangles

Silver Specialty Foil

Stamp Set: Waves of the Ocean

I was inspired by a box that Judy May made, but I made it into a card.

I choose to use Thick White Cardstock for the die cuts because it gives them more stability.

Coast To Coast

Saturday, February 5, 2011
Thanks to Split Coast Stampers Web sight, and all the talented ladies who submit their card creations, I was able to load up on a bunch of masculine cards using the Coast to Coast Stamp Set. I borrowed this set from a friend (Thanks Marlane!!) but then decided it was a good one to have on hand so found a retired one on EBay.

I won't bore you with all the MENU's for each card, you can probably figure it out by looking at them, but if you have any questions just drop me a note and I will do my best to help you out.

I like this one - very neutral and no coloring

This one took some coloring. I used markers as well as watercolor pencils and an Aqua painter.

This card was done using Stampin' Pastels (chalks)

Some were for birthday's and some were generic, but this one is intended as a sympathy card. How appropriate to use the lighthouse as a symbol of the Guiding Light that we have in Christ who guides our steps each day, and during difficult times He holds us up and walks with us. Sadly we did have someone pass away this past week and will be attending her viewing today. We was a great mentor to me with my cake decorating. She very willingly gave me how-to tips when I asked and was always ready to loan out her cake pans when I needed something - in fact, she gave me MANY of her cake pans when she became ill and could no longer make cakes for her friends and family. Thanks Jan - you will be missed!!
