By The Tide Bridal Shower

Thursday, June 30, 2016
I was asked to make some special Bridal Shower cards for the month of June.  Each one was pretty specific in theme.  This first one the theme was "tropical" because the bride and groom will be honeymooning somewhere tropical.  I am so thankful for Pinterest to search out ideas.

The front piece is stamped on Watercolor paper.  I simply colored on the watercolor paper with my markers (So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Tempting Turquoise, and Pacific Point) then I used my AQUA PAINTER to blend it all in.  I used my HEAT TOOL to dry it completely then used my EMBOSSING BUDDY before embossing the "sand" in silver and gold using the GORGEOUS GRUNGE stamp set, and both silver and gold embossing powders.  I did one at a time, and heat embossed before I did the second color.  The Seashell was stamped in SOFT SUEDE and quickly added CLEAR EMBOSSING POWDER to it to give it the shine.  The sentiments are from 2 retired stamp sets SPECIAL BLESSINGS and OCCASIONAL QUOTES.  I love the little Pearls for the added touch of elegance and real feel to the sea.

Happy 65th Birthday, Sis!

Wednesday, June 29, 2016
Today is my sister, Vicky's, birthday and I thought she deserved a special card.  This card is not your standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card either.
The colors I used are Basic Gray, Whisper White and Blushing Bride.  Adding the Silver Glimmer Specialty Paper and a Basic Rhinestone gives it just that certain POP of dazzle.
Have a Super Birthday Sis!!
Here is a photo of the four of us in April when we were all together.  Vicky is the one on the far right. Join me in wishing her a happy birthday.

Paper Pumpkin Treat Pouch

Tuesday, June 28, 2016
A group of gals from the Red Hot Stampers got together to make up some alternate ideas using the Paper Pumpkin Kit from June.  The projects that we came up with were compiled into a PDF that goes out exclusively to our Paper Pumpkin Subscribers.  You can receive the Exclusive PDF of Paper Pumpkin ideas as well if you are a subscriber under me.  Please Click HERE for my Private Link to subscribe.
The next day I made up a few more alternate ideas that I will share with all of you.
I started with this little Chickie Treat Pouch.
I filled the triangle bag with Mini M&M's and sealed it with Tear 'n Tape and Glue Dots.
I cut down one of the Mint Macron bags to 4 1/4 inches using the zig zag blade on my Rotary Cutter (any edge would be fine)
It's the perfect size to fit a home baked cookie!
I decided to step-it-up and add eyelashes and a handle.
I tried a yellow beak but I really prefer the colorful orange beak best.
The eyes and wings are from the NEW Layering Circle Framelits and the 1/2" Circle Punch.  The White Gel Pen is perfect for adding highlights to the eyes.
The embossing folder that I used is called PETAL BURST
After cutting down the Mint bag I was left with a band.  My friend, and fellow Red Hot Stamper, Donne, showed me that it would make a perfect napkin ring. I didn't doll it up at all, but it could be jazzed up and personalized with some of the stamps and embellishments included in the kit.

So now that I separated all those M&M's what else will I do?  Well... Gluten Free Cookies of course.
I used the brown M&M's instead of chocolate chips.

And the Graduation Open Houses Begin
Jamie started at Auntie's when she was first born. Very part time so Mommy could deliver her AVON books.  So great to stay connected to these kids.
This little cutie came to Auntie's when he was closer to 18 months if I remember correctly
Look what a handsome young man he turned out to be!
What I loved the best was the big smile and the giant LONG hug I got from him as soon as I arrived!!
These kids have such a bright future and I am amazed to still have them in my life.

Sweet Sugarplum

Friday, June 24, 2016
This is the card that we made at Card Club featuring the New In-Color SWEET SUGARPLUM.
I teamed it up with Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White.
Have you checked out the new LAYERING CIRCLES FRAMELITS? They are super! They do not go as big as the original Circle Framelits, but I really like them.  Each circle has a Scallop Circle that will layer with it.
Here are the products that I used on this card (inspired by Pinterest

Dapper Denim

Thursday, June 23, 2016
At this month's Card Club we focused on the fabulous NEW In-Colors.
This first card features my FAVORITE color of the bunch (for now) Dapper Denim.
I cased this card from my very own, fabulous, upline, Glenda!!  What did I change? I added the SOFTLY FALLING EMBOSSING FOLDER to the top layer in Whisper White and I made a tuxedo bow, snipping the bows for a cool effect.
The NEW 3/8" Ruched Ribbon comes in all of the New In-Colors: Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, & Sweet Sugarplum.  Click HERE to see all of the NEW In-Colors.
We have one more month left for this session of Card Club and then in September we will start up a new round.  Does this sound like something you would like to be involved in? Even if you do not live in this area you can still be a part of the club!
Here are the details:
If we have 10 ladies, you only need to make a minimum purchase of $15.00.  If we have less members I will adjust the minimum requirement.
We make 3 different cards focusing on different techniques, product, etc.
We meet on the Third Monday of each Month (starting up again in September)
One of these months you will be the hostess and receive the Hostess Benefits (10% of sale)
If you do not live in this area I will mail you the cards, but you need to place the same minimum $15.00 order, and I will have the product shipped right to your house.
Please RSVP to sign up for the new class sessions that start the third Monday of September.

BUSY!

Wednesday, June 22, 2016
One word that best describes my days lately is "BUSY."
Between packing to move and checking on the house, holding classes and preparing for the next one - my life is just BUSY.  I really hate using that word because it is such a cop-out for me, but sometimes right now I don't know which end is up.
Today I am taking a day to spend with Gracie while Mom works. Looking forward to some fun Gram-Jam and Gracie time.
I really don't have too much new stuff to share because whatever I am making will end up being in a class, but I am giving you a sneak peek on a card that I made just last night for the next COME STAMP WITH ME TUESDAY CLASS on June 28th, 10am to 5pm.
I used the NUMBER OF DAYS stamp set and the coordinating FRAMELITS (Large Numbers) to personalize this card for someone special.
I have loved seeing these "skirt cards" or some call them a "drapery fold."  We made one once before and it was a big hit.
I'm sorry that I am not showing you more new product, but actually I have not purchased a ton yet.  I wanted to wait until we move in so I don't have to pack it and move it all.
This card is a two-fer - a BONUS card because when I cut out the skirt I get a mini skirt that fits perfectly on a 3x3 card base.
So put it on your calendar for Tuesday, June 28th and COME STAMP WITH ME. It is held Open House Style, so come when you can and leave when you must.

Scrap Book Page For The First Day of Summer

Tuesday, June 21, 2016
Here you go scrap-bookers - a 12 x 12 scrap book layout for the first day of Summer
Isn't this little punch art ant cute?  I really HATE ants when they invade my home, but this punch art ant and different ant stamps I have used on cards are cute.
Here they are side by side.
Are you a scrap-booker? Would you like to join us for the next all-day scrapbooking day?  I used to charge for this day because I would plan games and prizes and serve you all lunch, but I decided to do a NO CHARGE day for all of you so that you can focus on your scrap booking and I do not have any prep work.  Everyone brings a dish to pass for lunch.  I am limiting space to 5 (plus myself),  As of today there are only 2 spaces left, so contact me soon to reserve your seat.  The next all-day scrap book day is Saturday, August 20th from 9am to 6pm. You may RSVP by contacting me HERE.  This next class will be held, of course, in our new home.

Happy Father's Day

Monday, June 20, 2016
It has been so tremendously busy around here lately with the move, classes, weddings, graduations that I do not have a new card to share with you today.  However I will share a card I made a while back for our Malachi Sermon Series at church.  Malachi 1:11a "For from the rising of the sun to its setting My name will be great among the nations."
This is also the card that I saved to give to my dad for Father's Day yesterday
Happy Father's Day to my amazing daddy!  and my favorite veteran!!  I am so thankful for all the life lessons he taught me along the way... to love God with all my heart and to seek Him first. This is the most important lesson of all.
Thankful too, for my wonderful hubby.  Doing life together for 39 years now!  I wouldn't want it any other way
Little Sawyer has a wonderful legacy of faithfulness to follow

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, June 19, 2016
Gracie recently had her yearly dance recital.   We love to watch Julie and Tyler both in Karate and look forward to Tyler's 2nd level black belt test later this fall, but for now it is fun to watch our girly girl at her dance recital.
As I was looking back at her past years it makes me realize how much she has changed and how far she has come.
2011 December:  Her very first year - so shy
2013 Spring
2014 Spring
 2015 Spring
2016 - she's coming out of her shell!
To us, Gracie was the star of the show.  Want to hear a story?  This is so cute!!
The program was called "Imperfectly Perfect."
It all revolved around our imperfections and how we can still be used by God.  The song that Gracie's group (of 7 girls) danced to was called IMPERFECTLY PERFECT.  As you can see in this first photo Gracie is the tiny one between the two tallest girls.  The six girls came out to begin dancing and then Gracie came in "fashionably late."  At the beginning I thought it was an error but Tyler let me know that it was purposeful because of the songs title.
They danced a bit and then Gracie sits on the bars and swings a bit.
When she dances she does it perfectly!
At the very end they all end up in a final pose and when the six girls walk off, Gracie keeps her pose perfectly (she even gave me a little wave - so cute!)
Then she looks around like she just realizes that they are gone and she rushes off.  She is IMPERFECTLY PERFECT!!  So fun! So Cute! We loved it!  She should be an actress.
This is the card that I made for Gracie this year

Watercolor Wings Fun Fold

Friday, June 17, 2016
Another fun fold card  super simple with a WOW effect.  I have seen this all over Pinterest and other Stampin' Up! demonstrators but I do not know who was the original smarty pants that came up with the idea.
Basically all you do is measure half way on your Designer Paper and snip in.  I cut in approximately I length of a Stampin' Up! Snips.
I'm sure you will be seeing more of this fun fold in the future.
Click HERE to purchase the WATERCOLOR WINGS stamp set and the BOLD BUTTERFLY FREAMELITS DIES.
I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR DEMONSTRATOR!

Creativity in a Box!

Another 8th grade graduation/celebration!!
Jade was part of the group of kids that came to Auntie's house when I was doing Child Care.  It was great having them as neighbors as well.  Jade and Tyler are in the same class so it worked out perfectly to be able to see both at the 8th grade celebration
"Little" Jade went through a major growing spurt which worked out perfectly for the Volleyball team and the Girls Basketball team!!
This is the card that I made for Jade using the May Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I made it directly opposite in color from Tyler's card!  Of course, Jade got a little bling on hers!!
Thanks for stopping by!  If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber through me you can stay tuned for more information about a monthly Paper Pumpkin Night where you can bring your kits and we will work on them together!!  Want to get in on the fun?  Click HERE for my private link to sign up!! A Perfect Blend Birthday

Tuesday, June 14, 2016
Another Special Order Card for the President of the Coffee Club!!  (He's only 14 years old!  It's a fun family thing I guess)
I never purchased the PERFECT BLEND stamp set but I did get it when My Digital Studio was still up and running, so instead of borrowing the stamp set from a friend I just printed it out.  One thing nice is that I could add the Happy Birthday to the labels right there on MDS.  I added splashes from the stamp set GORGEOUS GRUNGE and the coffee stain from TIMELESS TEXTURES.  I even added 3 coffee beans to make it authentic.
Here are the products that I used:

Telescoping Technique

Monday, June 13, 2016
Another shipment of cards are heading up to the store in Manistee.  Thank you to my fellow Red Hot Stamper, Sara H, who shared this card.
This technique is called a TELESCOPING CARD and I was thrilled to see that Stampin' Up! has come out with narrow Foam Adhesive Strips and they work perfectly for this technique.
One thing I learned while putting these cards together - the Foam Adhesive Strips are thicker than our standard Dimensionals, but they are perfect for the narrow edges that you need from time to time.
Here are the supplies used for this card: You will notice that I used the (retired) Squares Framelits Collection, but if you do not own these yet there are NEW Squares Framelits!!  So excited!! I added them to the list below so you can check them out.  Each size square has a scallop square that will layer behind it.  I LOVE them!!  Not only is there Layering Squares - there are Layering Circles, Layering Ovals and Sweet and Sassy Hearts!!  You will fall in love!!

Sentimental Sunday

Sunday, June 12, 2016
This past week we celebrated Tyler's "graduation" from 8th grade.  It is hard for me to believe that I will have a grandchild in high school in the fall.
Right now he is as tall as his gramma but I'm sure we will she him shoot up in no time.
Congratulations Tyler on conquering Middle School!  We love you!!
This is the card that I made for Tyler using the elements from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit.  The inside I had a little help from My Digital Studio.  I still love that program
