Silly Saturday

Saturday, August 1, 2020
It's been a LOOOOONNNGGG time since I did a Silly Saturday Post
But when our son gave us some cucumbers from their garden, they had one that wrapped itself around the stake which made it look like a goose.
It reminded me of the AT&T commercial where "Lily" says "you can put google eyes on your stuff to keep yourself company"

A few weeks back Dale participated (had a craft booth to sell his soaps and candles) in our home town Salad Bowl Bash.  Our town is affectionately called the Salad Bowl City because when the people realized the rich muck soil was so good for growing vegetables it quickly grew into vegetable farming fields.  I grew up very near a muck field and we had an onion factory in our back yard.  I remember playing there as a child, climbing the crates and playing hide 'n seek with my friends.  If kids did that now days they would get in deep trouble.  So glad I grew up in simpler times.
They had some great activities and Dale's booth was right by the grand stand where there were tons activities going on all afternoon and evening.  Since it had a Salad Bowl theme throughout the day they had one time where you could dane with the vegetables.  This sweet pea is my very own Kyra!
Kyra came to stay with Auntie when she was 11 months old and stayed until she went to Middle School.  I love still being connected to these kids.
We got photo bombed by a carrot!!
It was so cute to watch Kyra and the carrot interact with the little kids
The "fun" part is that I was sitting there so I could watch her and she pulled me up there and I danced with her - awkward! But I just love these kids!

When Gracie comes to spend the day with GranJam (her new nickname for me) she likes to play restaurant.  Last week she was making Thanksgiving surprises so when she asked me to guess - I said the best surprise for me at Thanksgiving is PUMPKIN PIE!  She quickly drew me some pumpkin pie.
I told her that Stampin' Up! came out with a Thinlit for making pie or cake slices called CUTIE PIE THINLITS.  Since I have not purchased my own Cutie Pie Thinlits yet I had to rely on a pattern I got a couple years ago from Colleen Benedeto, so Gracie and I made our own Pumpkin Pie.  Gracie loves it that I let her use my left over embellishments like the rosettes for the crust (or the whipped cream) and she insisted on a bow.  Her Nike swoosh smile was made with the 1 3/4"x 7/8" Large Oval Punch.
I stamped the sides with crumb cake ink using the Chalk Lines Stamp Set.
Here is a close up of the tag she wanted on the side. I made it using the LOTS OF LABELS Framelits

A girl is never to old to play with paper dolls!!  Thanks to my friends, Carla and Bev, who loaned me their Cricut machine and cartridges for a while.  Gracie thought it was a ton of fun.  She wanted to make a Cheerleader and a Ballerina because those are the 2 activities that she participates in.  She knows Gramma will make a scrapbook page of her using these fun creations.
Once I got started I couldn't stop! I have ideas for scrapbook pages as well as a few cards using these adorable "paper dolls".
Frankie and Dracula
My Knight in Shining Armor
 Pilgrims
Cowboy and Cowgirl
Halloween Witch with her broom, black cat and spiders on their web
Vampire (female version) along with Super Boy!
 Fireman and Policeman
 Hockey Player
 Scientist and Doctor
 Farmer with his piggy
Like I said - I had a hard time stopping!!

I love this picture that I took on Easter Sunday of Jeff with Gracie!  What a great uncle he is to these kids.
And here is a flashback to when she was 2 years old.  Uncle Jeff was working the fun night at church (in lew of trick-or-treating). Gracie dressed as this cute little lamb and Gramma was Little Bow Peep.
Now Jeff has a little one of his own! sigh!!  Happy Sigh!! Love these little ones!!

This past week has been so much fun!  It always is when my sister, Lynette, comes in from South Jersey for a visit. Lynette is only 3 years older than me (I'm the baby) so we are probably the most alike.
She arrived on Monday afternoon and then on Tuesday we (Mom, Dad, Judy and I) headed up to Grant where our fourth sister, Vicky, works and just bought a home.  We are so happy for them as they have been staying with her in-laws to help them out for several years now. (She really has the best heart of all of us).  If you have watched my blog for some time now, Vicky is the one that crushed her knee in a simple fall, had surgery to bolt it together and then in the last 4-6 weeks had a knee replacement.  We were amazed how well she is doing, she doesn't even walk with a limp!
We saw this sign for a junky little store and had to stop (even though the store was not open) to get this picture.  This was the only day that all 4 sisters could be together. We are standing by age: Judy, Vicky, Lynette and myself.
Wednesday was a fun afternoon that Lynette and I had a chance to go the mall.  You see, she got Dale and I hooked on watching an old TV show on Netflix called CHUCK which ran from 2007-2012.
This is what Wikipedia says about it...

Chuck is an American action-comedy/spy-drama television series created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The series is about an "average computer-whiz-next-door" named Chuck, played by Zachary Levi, who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend now working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The message embeds the only remaining copy of a software program containing the United States' greatest spy secrets into Chuck's brain.

We have had so much fun watching this show, not sure why we never watched it when it was on TV, but thanks to Netflix we are able to watch it now.  If you haven't seen it, you should give it a try.
Anyway...Chuck wears these black Converse shoes with everything.  At first I thought it was a bit different, but it really fit his NERD HERD persona on the show.  Lynette and I decided that we NEEDED to get a pair of CHUCK shoes.  So on Wednesday we hit the mall to find some CHUCK shoes.  What a blast when we went into TRADEHOME shoe store where they have the greatest sales guys EVER!  Low and behold our sales guy was: wait for it: CHUCK!! we laughed so hard!  He fit us with some CHUCK shoes, but of course we had to go to EVERY other store in the mall to make sure we got a good price, but when it came right down to it, these were the best and we LOVED our Chuck!  He even put on a pair of Chuck shoes and had his picture taken with us.
We decided that Lynette was going to buy me a pair for my birthday and I would buy her a pair for her birthday (next week) - this makes them even more special!!
The store manager gave me his email address and asked me to send him the photo - how fun is that!!  We actually had all the shoppers in that little store laughing and joining in on our fun!
Back to CHUCK! His character is played by Zachary Levi
and like I said, he always wore these shoes.  This is him with his buddy, Morgan.
You might remember Zachary Levi in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS THE SQUEAKQUEL as Toby Seville. (2009)
Head on over to NETFLIX to give CHUCK a try - see, there are those shoes again!!
OH! and if the show couldn't be any better - they added SCOTT BAKULA as Chuck's father!! WOOT WOOT!! my all time favorite!!
Yup! He's a good guy!!  Chevy Chase plays the bad guy
It was a short but sweet visit, can't wait for her to come again!!
Thanks for stopping by and indulging me!!

Last week Saturday our family met at an apple orchard for our family photo shoot.  We bumped up our time due to the rain and were very thankful that we were able to get the majority of our photos taken before the down pour.  While we were hibernating in the building and our photographer was getting some inside shots, Gracie and I were taking pictures with Henry and Violet.

I guess I am the fun Gramma!!, but aren't they so very cute!!

OOPS! forgot to post my Silly Saturday Post yesterday so here it is...

My Dad, whose nick name is Jitter, (you can see the original post HERE if you want the full story behind the name) has two "Jitter"  monkeys - one full size and one baby. (TY brand!) I go to their house each Saturday to roll up my mom's hair and while I was there my dad thought it would be cute to have Baby Jitter have a ride on Billy (you can see the original post HERE) along with Henry.  So Henry has a new friend - meet Baby Jitter, a cute little Congo Monkey

Henry, Billy and Baby Jitter were busy cleaning the kitchen floor

And the carpets

Great job guys! - So said vacuuming was for girls??!!

Hope you had a great Saturday!
