Throwback Thursday

Thursday, August 3, 2017
I love a versatile layout!
I was massively low on wedding cards for the store and super low on sympathy for myself personally and those who purchase cards from me here.
I found this layout on Pinterest by Michelle Lupton from Australia who is not a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, but I loved the layout.
I pulled out some retired stamps (Flowering Flourishes and Backyard Basics) to create this and used a non-Stampin' Up! stitched die by Gina Marie. The sentiment on both cards is from ROSE WONDER.  The colors I chose are Tip Top Taupe and Very Vanilla with the butterflies being colored in with Calypso Coral watercolor pencils and blended with the Blender Pen.

Today was the due date for our newest grand baby - but Little Miss Lilyanna Katherine showed up on the scene 3 days early! She weighed in at 7# 4oz and 20 inches long.
Let me indulge you in some cute first day photos

I was honored to be able to be Baby Lily's care-giver for her first hours because Mommy had some complications and was taken to emergency. (Lily was a home birth) It was scary, but we are extremely thankful that Jess is home, recovering, and reunited with her sweet peanut.
This is a card I made several years ago for a punch art class and I decided to make more of them for the store.
Such a fun card to give to an expectant mamma!
This card was inspired by Jackie Topa

Bear with me as I share some sentimental moments.
This photo is from 2002 when I was in full swing in my Child Care Business.  I call these kids my FIRST CREW.  There were others that came during this time frame but these are the ones that stayed the longest.
I sewed denim jumpers for all the little girls and vests for all the boys.  The two smallest boys got rompers and looked so cute!  We even performed at our church's talent night - oh, the memories!!
This year there were 4 of "my kids" that graduated from high school.
 Lucas:
 Liana
This is all three of the sisters that came to Auntie's
Kyra will be getting married in May, 2017, Liana will attend college for Social Work and play soccer, Melina will be a 10th grader in the fall.
Riana
These are the siblings to Riana: Becca is already a mom.  I still remember the last day with her when I walked them all to school.  I cried all the way home. Scottie was never in my day care, but he was often to our house playing with our boys.  Riana my special girl will be starting the work force, and Andrew was also not a part of the day care but he is still one of "my" boys because he was our Joey's buddy all the growing up years.  Andrew is married and it is so good to see "my kids" doing so well.
Jamie  - One of the MANY redheads that came to my day care. (Jamie is not shown in the first photo).  Jamie will be attending college in the fall.
I would say that the 15 years that I had my child care business was the BEST 15 years!!  I am so thankful to still be a part of these kids lives.

Throw back Thursday: Pocket Fun
Thank you to my friend, Nancy, who let me borrow her Pocket Fun stamp set.  I have been making cards for years but I didn't do a whole lot of stamping until shortly before I signed up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in 2008 so I do not have a lot of stamps from way-back-when.  I am thankful for friends who didn't get rid of their retired sets so that I could borrow them!
This is a card that I made for Jade's mom.  She is such a sweetie - kind of crazy - she likes - I mean she LIKES to clean and she goes every other week and cleans my parents condo for them.  Mom always liked everything nice and clean and now as they age it is hard for them to do all that work themselves.  Melissa to the rescue (you may remember me calling her my kitchen fairy).  I sent this to her as a thank you for taking such good care of them in this fashion.
I thought the two girls on there were perfect for us.  I added a little bling to the pocket just like some of my jeans have.  The sentiment is from the My Paper Pumpkin starter kit.
