I'm On Line Again!!

Sunday, July 31, 2011
Yeah!!!! we FINALLY have internet service at our new home!! 5 weeks seemed like FOREVER without it, and yet...I'm sure it was good for us too. We got a LOT accomplished in the last 5 weeks since our move, and we have spend way more time together which has been so enjoyable. I would tell you the story - the VERY LONG story - about why it took so long,
but I wouldn't want to bore you.

So now, I can do my postings from the comfort of my new desk that someone from church
gave us, and we had the painters spray paint it just like the kitchen cabinets.

Here are the painters helpers, taping up all the drawer glides. The desk was not in BAD shape but it did need a boost to brighten it up.

TADA!!

I am planning to get some wall decor to decorate the drawer fronts but that may take a bit as there are still so many things that I am hoping to get from the new catalog, AND the Holiday Mini is just around the corner. If you have been a regular customer of mine you should receive your Holiday Mini sometime in August as you can begin ordering on September 1st.

And these are my FRIENDS that adorn the top of my desk and make me smile
plus Tyler and Gracie love to find the candy treats inside.
Just pull on Yellow's leg and out they come.

Yes, it works...IF you have a land line - which we don't - so they just sit there to make me smile.

Right now my poor desk is a mess as I need to take time to catch up
with everything that has been piling up.

Don't forget that today is the last day to get in on signing up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator at the discounted price of $99.00!! Click HERE to sign on and you can be a part of Christi's Creative Crew!! OR Click HERE to see my original post regarding the $99.00 starter kit.

Purple Belt

Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Last week our grandson, Tyler, had his Purple Belt Test in his Karate classes.

Julie invited me to come along to watch and
I was so amazed at how intense he was in his test.
He did an absolutely fabulous job.

This is a picture of Tyler receiving his Purple Belt from Master Rick.

So I thought I should make him a card congratulating him on his new level.

This is a tri-fold card

I even stamped the envelope

CONGRATULATIONS, TYLER!!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Christmas in July

Monday, July 25, 2011
ONLY SIX MORE MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!

Many times you will hear this phrase CHRISTMAS IN JULY in store ads etc. so I thought I would show a Christmas card today to help me feel cool during the hot summer months.

I used retired Designer Christmas paper along with Old Olive and Real Red. The Elf Shoes were made using the Top Note Die and the Big Shot. The curves of the shoes were made with the Wide Oval Punch and one of the Circle Punches (1 1/4" or 1 3/8" depending on the look you want.)

Inspired By: Patty Lee

There now, doesn't that make you feel cooler already?!

Exciting News!!

Sunday, July 24, 2011
Just HAD to share our exciting news with you all...
Our son, Joey, proposed to his girlfriend, Melissa,
this past Tuesday after the Detroit Tiger game,

right by this Tiger Statue

Check out that post HERE if you didn't see it earlier.
Joey is such a HUGE Detroit Tiger fan that it was very appropriate that
he chose this night and this time and place to propose.

Check out the beautiful ring he bought for her...

When you check out the side view there is a butterfly, but the actual diamond is round.

So in the spirit of engagements I will share this card with you that I made quite a while back

CONGRATULATIONS JOEY AND MELISSA!!
WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Tiger Game plus Tile - and then some...

Wednesday, July 20, 2011
TALK ABOUT A WHIRLWIND DAY!!

Yesterday, the Installers came to install the Formica counter tops in the morning.

We went from this

TO THIS!!

(the tile back splash gets installed on the 21st)
Notice the rounded edge in the first photo and this nice angled edge now.

Dale decided it was the best time to hang the new dining room light

because...

While the guys were still working, the furniture refinishing guys came and
delivered our Dining Room Table back to us.

Our daughter, Julie, showed up with the kids to check on things so while she was there she helped us hang this GIANT vertical blind

Soon after that the painters popped in for a quick measure
(you know, so they can BILL us)

My friend popped in to pick up some packing boxes because she gets to move soon too!!

We still do not have our appliances but we got creative and warmed up our
pizza on the grill and it was the BEST warmed up pizza we EVER had!

Had to fit this bit in about the pizza because shortly after we scarfed down the last bite,
the furniture store delivered our bedroom set,

and a shelf unit for the office.

Mind you, the installers are still working on the counter top through all this madness.

In between all this I had to make a run to my mom's - twice - to put the sheets in the wash and then pick them up because we still do not have the laundry hooked up yet.

WHEW!!

Time to breath?
NOPE!
When the installers finished with the counter top
and we had 1/2 hour to clean up the kitchen and make up the bed.

THEN...

Off to a Detroit Tiger game

with my parents, our son Joey and his gal, Melissa,

Joey was hoping to snag a foul ball, but none came our way.

my sister and her husband, her daughter and son-in-law and two of their boys.
It was a special purchase night to honor the veterans and my dad is a WWII Veteran as well as my brother-in-law who is a Vietnam Veteran.

This is my sister Vicky with my parents. She is the one that put this evening all together.

We were very close to the left fielder, Brennan Boesch, Dale's "Tiger"

It was fun to all be together, and an added bonus -
the Tigers WON!! 8-3!
My Tiger, Miguel Cabrera hit a 3 run home run to
pull ahead and then it just kept getting better from then on.

Aren't my parents so cute.
After 64 years of marriage (in just a few weeks)
they are still holding hands.
I love this!!! I am truly blessed.

Have a Blessed Day!!

Swaps

Monday, July 18, 2011
Doesn't this look like a nice refreshing card.
Makes me hungry for a cherry flavored ice cream pop.

I thought these cards were great for an anniversary card for your husband. Very masculine.

My friend Rachel has this stamp set so I thought I would take a picture of this one for her.

These are just a sampling of the 100's of swaps that we saw at Convention.

Tonight we start up with Stamp A Stack classes again so check in tomorrow to see some of those. There is still time to sign up for the Thursday night class and the Saturday morning class. RSVP at christjo48@sbcglobal.net if you want to attend one of these classes.
We would love to have you attend. Cost for the class is only $12.00 and you will make 8 all occasion cards. All you need to bring is your adhesive.

Have A Blessed Day!!

Coming Home

Sunday, July 17, 2011
As much as I thoroughly enjoyed being at Convention,
I am thoroughly enjoying knowing that tonight
I will sleep in my own home
and in my own bed
(well, at least my own mattress - the bed frame and box spring arrive on Tuesday)

and...with my own husband.

Dale has REALLY been working hard to pull everything together so it looks perfect
for me when I walk in the door. He has faithfully sent me photos of the progress.

Check it out... We have CARPET!!

And cabinet doors!! I can finally move my pantry and dishes upstairs!!

The living room looks so bare, but I will fine tune that soon

I am sure Dale will be glad to move his computer desk upstairs even though
the internet won't be installed until the 30th (HOPEFULLY)

So, just so you stamping fans don't think I have totally forgotten to post any cards, I will show you some fabulous swaps that we either received or at least saw at convention...

You know me, I love the movement cards and this is a new stamp set that is
in the 2011-2012 Big Idea Book and Catalog

A sweet Wedding Card

Love how this lady used rolled up DSP to give the card a 3D look.
The flames are punched from the 2 Step XL Bird Punch and then sponged.
I'm guessing it is So Saffron card stock sponged with Pumpkin Pie classic ink.

These three cards were among hundreds that ladies made and donated to the
Ronald McDonald House charity that Stampin' Up! supports.

Have a Blessed Day!!
(I know I will)

More Convention High Lights

Saturday, July 16, 2011
I imagine by now you can tell I am enjoying my first time at Stampin' Up! Convention. This is the bag that they gave every demonstrator...

complete with all sorts of goodies. One of the coolest is the new Idea Book and Catalog that is in a three ring binder complete with Index tabs. This will be so helpful throughout the year. Oh, they had a pen, lanyard, pin, charm, and 4 - count them - FOUR stamp sets that we will use in our Make and Takes.

Of course I had to have my bag set apart from the rest so I could tell at a glance that it was mine so I clipped on my friend YELLOW that I found at an airport gift shop.

They treat you VERY well here at convention - even a simple box lunch is done up right. Look at everything they put in it. I was able to pack away several items for a snack later.

This yummy cookie is just a sneak peak at a new product being introduced in the Holiday Mini

Sorry, I took a bite before thinking to take a picture.

CANDY!! Look at all the yummy candy... It is my biggest downfall.

Here's Belinda pouring through the new Holiday Mini that they gave each demonstrator - not just one copy, but a whole pack of EIGHT.
Sorry, not allowed to post a photo of the MINI before it is made available to the public.

During the Main Stage sessions they have great ideas and information but they also have what is called the PRIZE PATROL. We were each given a wrist band, kind of like the ones you get at the fair when you buy the 'ride all day' pass. They are colored coded, and I am not sure how many are in each group, but if they call your color band you win whichever prize they are handing out at the time. Here is France who won one of the largest give aways. She was pretty excited!

See if you can guess what might be in this big box.
It is a new item being introduced in the Holiday Mini.

So today is our last day of Convention, and tomorrow we head back home. So glad Glenda and Belinda will be on the same flight as me this time.

I am anxious to see all the changes that have taken place in the condo. Sadly Dale tells me that the internet and cable will still be two more weeks. What a pain. I can live without the TV, but I am really missing the easy access to the internet.

Have a Blessed Day!!

Christi
