Baby Kangaroo

Wednesday, March 31, 2021

I want to focus my blog posts on some cards using the products that are on the LAST CHANCE LIST so that you can be inspired and see which products you want to be sure to grab before it is too late.

I cased this cute card from Rosanne

Card Base: Magenta Madness 4-1/4 x 11

Top Layer: White 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 - emboss with embossing folder of your choice - I used a long ago retired one.

Magenta Madness: 1-1/8 x 3-1/8

White: 1 x 3

Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper (on the Last Chance List) 1" wide punch ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.

Add some Magenta Madness In-Color Dots (on the Last Chance List)

Stamp your kangaroo and Joey on scrap white and cut out with the Kangaroo dies. The mama kangaroo die actually puts a little slit at the pouch so that the little Joey fits inside. Color in with Stampin' Blends (ivory, crumb cake) Pop it up on the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Don't need a baby card? This layout would be great using any other stamp. Make it your own by switching up the Designer Paper. It's a fun layout

March Paper Pumpkin Alternate Ideas

Tuesday, March 30, 2021

I have several people who purchase the Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription through me, and for everyone who does, (or if they are on my C3 stamping team and subscribe to Paper Pumpkin) they are invited to come for a fun evening of assembling our kits together. We usually meet on the last Thursday evening of the month, but we have been known to switch things up to work around our schedules.  Many times there is just the two of us (Anna & myself), but we will have a larger group when my snow-bird friends come home from Florida.

We research the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club on Facebook to glean ideas and then sometimes we make some of our own creations. It is just so much fun to do it together.

This is the intended projects for the kit...

The March kit celebrated Paper Pumpkin's Anniversary/Birthday so it included some bonus products (4 decorative masks)

While it is too late to subscribe to the March kit as you see here, you can still subscribe at any time and take advantage of the next months kit. (and many times you are able to purchase a refill kit from previous months)

Want to have a sneak peek of what they have in store for us for April? Subscribe by April 10th to get the next kit delivered right to your door.

Follow the instructions included in the kit or make some changes - it is totally up to you.

This kit will coordinate with the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set  from the January to June Mini Catalog

(Good News: the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and dies will carry over to the new annual catalog)

This month Anna and I enjoyed a fun evening together stamping, creating and enjoying some delicious tea.

These are the cards that Anna made: some she was inspired by the Paper Pumpkin FaceBook Fan Club page and some she created on her own

We both made this card using the printed envelope liner, making these images into birthday candles.
Anna used the "Here's to you!" stamp that was included in the kit and I used a "Happy Birthday". I also made mine with a more narrow piece of the Pretty Peacock card stock.
We saw someone use the little die from Hippo Happiness to make the candle flames (I think this die was intended for the inside of a darling animals ear)
I love the look of the flames using the die, however I also saw Rachel Tessman (the creator of the Paper Pumpkin Facebook Fan Club) use the Sprig Punch for the flame which was so much quicker, but I still prefer the looks of the flames made with the dies.
Anna's second card has a patriotic theme and she used one of the stencils with some embossing paste
Anna's 3rd card - she used the floral envelope liner for her card front
We both struggled a bit with this busy pattern,
My first try with the floral envelope liner...
I cut the image out from one of the card bases using a Stitched Shapes Die (hey! it's on the last chance list - it's a must have, so grab a set now). I backed it with a Pretty Peacock layer. Wasn't thrilled so only made one.
but then...
We both made this version...
I saw someone do the diagonal piece, but then I changed it up by cutting out a detailed butterfly using the Brilliant Wings Dies, and the tiny butterfly is from Nature's Thoughts Dies. Fancy Phrases Stamp Set (retiring soon) gave us the "Birthday Wishes".  A heads up, too, is that the Pretty Peacock ink and card stock used here is also on the Last Chance List.
Anna used the Gilded Gems on her butterflies and I used some retired dots on mine. I really love the detailed butterfly cut from that paper. Our Stitched Rectangle was embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder  - and YIKES! it's on the Last Chance List - I love this embossing Folder - I use it ALL the time!
Here are the cards that I made (other than the ones I already showed you)
I was totally inspired by a sample I saw on line to use the girl stamp from BEAUTIFUL YOU. What I changed up: I added the smaller Happy Birthday stamp included in the kit (the original designer used a stamp from Beautiful You) and I am not sure what dots she used on her card, I chose to use some retired Candy Dots for mine. Always trying to use up some retired stock. I stamped her dress onto some Seaside Spray Designer Paper and then fussy cut both the girl and the dress and pieced them onto the card. I think this was my favorite one to make that night.
This layout was inspired by the Stampin' Ninja (Melissa)
Melissa made a card using the Mountain Air stamp set (which I prefer), but I thought it could work for this image as well.
The next day I decided to work on some more cards focusing on using the (4) bonus decorative masks. I started with the stars mask, and some embossing paste,  but first I heat embossed the constellation heart from (retired) A Little Twinkle, then added the globe from Beautiful World. Added some gold glitter stars and a couple Night of Navy stars. I was inspired by Kathy Kartak
This is what I did for the inside:
The second mask I used is the one with multiple clouds. First I sponged Balmy Blue ink onto Balmy Blue card stock and then I used some embossing paste.
I really wasn't sure where this card was headed when I was using the mask, but I was happy with the outcome.
The Dog Punch is on the LAST CHANCE LIST in case you want to grab that while you can.
The sentiment comes from KINDNESS & COMPASSION (retired) Stamp Set, and the green grass is from the SPECIAL DAYS Dies.  Super sale on these dies for only $7.25 (regular price $29.00), but you might also want to grab the coordinating stamp set Special Someone.
Inside: Some more sponging with the clouds mask and just a silhouette doggie.
After I was all done I started to think that the front needed just a touch of color with some little hearts.
I used my (retired) Confetti Hearts Border Punch, and literally held my hand over the card and dropped them onto the front. A little adjusting for placement and the card was complete by securing them with some Liquid Tombo Glue. Now I really like it, but I will be so sad when I have occasion to send a pet sympathy card.
Talking about our pets...want a quick photo on our newest batch of puppies? They are 3-1/2 weeks old and starting to get some chubby tummies. They seem very content, but we are also seeing them get a bit more active. We've heard some little "growls" and see the wagging of their itty bitty tails.
Their favorite hobbies are still eating and sleeping.

The next mask I wanted to play with is the one with the mountains. These masks only measure 4"x4" so I felt a little limited. As I was playing with it I was making a mess by sponging where I didn't want ink, etc. so I ended up using some large post-it notes to make it cleaner and easier. I decided to go with a note card size of 5" x 3-1/2" in Pretty Peacock. (a retiring color)
For the mountain on the front I sponged s few layers in crumb cake ink, then sponged on the pear pizzazz greenery. I sponged on some Balmy Blue sky then added sun rays in Crushed Curry ink using the 4th (and final) decorative mask. Then I remembered that the Paper Pumpkin Kit came with these little tree lines so I used 2 of them, sponging some extra Pretty Peacock along the bottom on the front piece. The trees on the front piece are popped up with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. It really felt empty and I knew it needed an animal to fill the gap. After browsing through all of my current and retired stamp sets I landed on DASHING DEER, but my littlest deer was still too big for this space.
Here's what I did: I stamped the deer in Early Espresso onto Basic White card stock, then photocopied it at 80% and fussy cut it out. It ended up being the perfect size!
The green area still seemed a little bare to me so I added the "thinking of you" from the April 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit, using Early Espresso Ink.
Inside: just a little more sponging with the mask for a mountain then added some green grass and blue sky. I know exactly who will receive this card and I can't wait to send it to him.

World Of Good

Monday, March 29, 2021

I just want to keep a reminder out there that the Last Chance List is available

Many items are WHILE SUPPLIES LAST

Several items are discounted up to 75% off

On today's post I am featuring the WORLD OF GOOD Specialty Designer Paper.

Good news & Bad news:
Bad news: is that the BEAUTIFUL WORLD Stamp Set is not being carried over to the new Annual Catalog.
Good news: is that the WORLD OF GOOD Specialty Designer Paper, which is on the LAST CHANCE list, is on sale! Regular price: $15.00 - Sale price $9.00!
Good News: the WORLD MAP DIES, which are on the LAST CHANCE list, are on Sale for only $7.75 (regular price $31.00)
I decided to use up my remaining 12x12 sheets of this gorgeous paper so that I can show you how well this paper goes with the Beautiful World Stamp Set, and it also pairs very well with the SAILING HOME Stamp Set.
Good News: the Sailing Home Stamp Set and the coordinating dies are being carried over to the new Annual Catalog!
Beautiful World
World Map Dies
Sailing Home
Smooth Sailing Dies
These are the cards that I made with the Beautiful World Stamp Set and Dies...
Perfect wording for graduation cards, but easily changed up if you want a Father's Day card or a masculine birthday or thinking of you card.
The Specialty Paper has Brass Foil accents and the Good News is that the Brass Foil Paper will still be available in the new Annual Catalog.
Another Example of a graduation card
This next card, using the same World of Good Designer Paper, I used the Sailing Home Stamp Set and Smooth Sailing Dies... Changing up the sentiment you can make this card for any occasion that you need.
Colors: Misty Moonlight card stock and ink, Gray Granite Ink.
My dad is a Navy man from WW11 so the lighthouses and the sea theme holds a special place in our hearts.
Also: in the state of Michigan, where we have lived our entire lives, boasts the most lighthouses at 124!! I have seen many, but definitely not all of them - I guess that will be on my bucket list.
Shop the last Chance List and grab your sales before it is too late.
The new annual catalog will be available on May 4th (May the 4th be with you!!)

Butterflies are Blooming!

Thursday, March 25, 2021

A few weeks ago my sisters and I went to the Frederick Meijer Gardens and experienced the Butterflies Are Blooming Exhibit - so awesome.

What a LONG wait on a cold day to get in, but time spent with sisters is well worth it. I figure it just gave us more time to chat while we waited.

We were especially mesmerized by the Blue Morpho Butterfly who's color is so striking, but when it closes up it is this plain old brown color. - I'm sure it is all about natures camouflage.

Today's card was inspired by Jackie
The stamp set is called Floating and Fluttering and you can find it in the January - June Mini Catalog. This stamp set will be available until the end of June, but will not carry over to the Annual Catalog.
It's a perfect card to use for any occasion. I chose the "thinking of you" from A Touch of Ink Stamp Set because I was super low on thinking of you cards.  I love it's elegant look stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock with Soft Suede Ink.

Flowers For Every Season

Wednesday, March 24, 2021

This pretty card shows how using your Designer Paper can totally make your card.

I used the Flowers For Every Season 6x6 Designer Paper Pack and I cased it from Mary Ann Curtis

The sentiment comes from Tasteful Touches Stamp Set.
I thought that this was so pretty that I am making some up to send for Easter. Easter and Springtime! a perfect pair. I think we are all anxious to have our flowers start to bloom.
If you like this designer paper, you better grab it now before it is gone!

Jar of Flowers & the Last Chance List

Tuesday, March 23, 2021

I'm not posting until later this evening because the LAST CHANCE LIST came out today and I wanted to be able to share that with you

and Print the List

the List On Line

I want to give you a heads up on a few things - I always looks at the supplies and embellishments first, and I was shocked to see that the Tear 'n Tape was on the list - Well do not be alarmed! they are just giving it a new product number so you will still be able to get this amazing tape.

Also I saw the embossing powders on the list - WHAT? I literally said it out loud! Do not be alarmed at this either because in the new Annual Catalog coming out in May they will still have the same great embossing powders, but they are bundling them.  You will get Copper, Gold & Silver in one bundled price of $18.00 and then you can order Black, Clear & White in a bundled price of $18.00 - so they will still be available, but if you only need White or if you only need Gold or Silver you might want to pick up some of those while you can get them singly.

I love Stampin' Up! Sponges (3 pack), but those are retiring as they are replacing them with the Blending Brushes which are also fabulous - but if you are a sponge girl - NOW is the time to grab those.  Please follow the links for shopping at the end of this blog post.

When you look at the list don't be alarmed when you see all of the bundles retiring - it only means that the bundle price saving you 10% is retiring leaving room for some new fabulous bundles in the new catalog.  Some of the Stamp Sets and Dies will still be available in the new catalog, but check the list carefully.

One more thing... Our wonderful Foil Papers - some are retiring. If you love your Silver Foil Paper - GRAB IT NOW!! the only 2 colors carrying over to the new catalog are Copper and Gold.

I can't wait to share with you our new in-colors

I will be having a Paper Share, Embellishment Share and a Ribbon Share of all the new products in the catalog so stay tuned for news on that.

The In Good Taste Designer Paper has so many excellent textures in this paper pack and it is an extra large pack with 24 - 12x12 sheets. 2 each of 12 different designs. - I am happy to say that this is the ONLY Designer Paper that is carried over to the new catalog.

This card inspired by Hee Jun Hunsberger

I used some retired doilies, but I followed her coloring on the flowers with Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose and Granny Apple Green.  The gals who come to my weekly Tuesday class are very spoiled because although there is a punch for the mason jar, there is not a punch or die for the flowers, and they need to be fussy cut. I must have a ton of time on my hands because I pre-stamped and cut the flowers before hand.

I added just a small sentiment, everyone could choose what they would like for their card or simply leave it blank so they can use it for any occasion. I guess you really don't need an occasion to give someone flowers and I guess you don't need an occasion to send someone a card! I am happy to report that the JAR OF FLOWERS Stamp Set and Jar Punch are carried over to the new catalog.

I'm looking forward to this summer when the fresh flowers are growing and my daughter-in-law who loves to make fresh cut flower arrangements for me and so many others. In fact, they changed up their back yard to incorporate a cut-flower garden. She is excited to get things planted.
