LEGO Masters

Friday, April 17, 2020

Wednesday night was the finale of LEGO MASTERS on FOX
Such amazing creators!
So I had to make another LEGO card in honor of the winners Tyler and Amy.
I used the clip art above for my card
Even their trophy was made of LEGO's - Of course, Right??!!
This is their creation and will be displayed in the LEGO Museum in New York. It's hard to see in this photo - I had to take a screen shot, but there is a Griffen on the top who's wings flapped slowly and intricately. It was protecting it's family from a dragon or giant lizard.
Check out all the other creators,
2nd Place: Mark & Boone
3rd Place: Sam & Jessica

Judges Amy Corbett, Sr Design Manager at the LEGO Co and Jamie Berard who has 13 years experience with LEGO,
and host Will Arnett (the voice of LEGO Batman)

Lego Masters

Saturday, February 8, 2020
Have you seen the new show out on FOX called LEGO MASTERS?
Such creative talents - it's crazy!
So in honor of LEGO MASTERS I decided to make a LEGO card...
Sawyer hasn't advanced to LEGO's yet, but he loves to build with Trio Blocks
He and his daddy spent time together creating these super fun creations
This is what Sawyer is currently working on
This is so good for his brain to work on, and keep him busy
Here is what I used on today's card: (inspired by Celia Cawthon)
Stamp Set: Sassy Salutations (retired)
Card Stock: Basic Black 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Whisper White 5 1/4 x 4, Basic Gray 3 3/4 x 3 3/4, Old Olive 15/16 x 1 3/4, Blueberry Bushel 15/16 x 1 3/8, Daffodil Delight 15/16 x 1 3/8, Real Red 15/16 x 15/16
The Embossing folder is retired - can't remember what is was called
The LEGO "bumps" were punched using the smaller eyes from the Owl Builder Punch - also retired, were adhered with 1/2 of a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.
A little white gel pen to give it depth.

LEGO my Cake!!

Saturday, August 11, 2012
I'm posting my July cake a bit late, but if you follow my blog at all
you already know that I have been "UBER BUSY" with our sons wedding
and trying to keep up with my classes.
The little guy that this cake was for wanted a LEGO cake and thanks to
Pinterest I could copy this design for him.
The photo I used as a sample did not have the raised nubs on the LEGOS
and the gal who ordered it wanted the raised ones using half of a large
marshmallow.  For as simple of a cake as this is, it was a challenge because
of frosting all the separate blocks.
I was told, though, that when the birthday boy saw the cake he squealed
so I guess it was a big hit.

Since I was making a LEGO CAKE I thought maybe I would try my hand
at a LEGO CARD.  This Super Simple one was inspired by Mary R.

This second one was inspired by Elizabeth Reugemer.
Debbie Henderson featured Elizabeth's card on her blog.
The LEGO sizes are 2" x 1 3/8 and 1 3/8" square
The Birthday wishes are from the retired stamp set
HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY WISHES

The squares are 1 3/8" and the circle nubs are 1/2"
His arms are the Heart to Heart Punch with hands of 1/4" and 1/2"
His head is 1 1/4" square w/rounded edges, a 1/2" square nub for the top
Slot Punch used for his suspenders and mouth, 1/4" circle eyes
His body was made by layering real red and pacific point Large Tag Punches
The happy birthday greeting is from the NEW stamp set MADE FOR YOU
A lot of sponging and using dimensionals makes the card a bit more 3D
I adhered the 1/2" circles with glue dots.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Christi
