Treat Bags

Monday, November 30, 2009

DSCF2332 These fun little treat bags were sold at the craft sale. We had many different styles but these are just a few.DSCF2331It was so much fun at all the craft sales this year. I am so thankful to my dear friend Sue, who joined me at two of the sales. It sure made my day so much more enjoyable and much easier with two of us manning the table. We met so many wonderful ladies, and so far three ladies that came to our booth have come to the STAMP 10 class here in my home. It is good to do the craft sales and now it is good to be done and go on to the next exciting event. There are some items left over from the sales, but not to worry, my grandson’s elementary school will take the leftovers and sell them at their Santa Secret Shop. Maybe this will be a whole new avenue of selling for me!? What fun!!

STAMP 10

Sunday, November 29, 2009

These are the last three Christmas cards that we made at last weeks STAMP 10 class. The ladies chose this gold embossed card as their favorite Christmas card of the evening, using the new Serene Snowflakes Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. There is still time to purchase this stamp set and many others until January 4th.

STAMP 10

Friday, November 27, 2009

Last week was our monthly STAMP 10 classes. What a great time we had once again. 8 ladies on Tuesday night and a full house of 10 ladies on Thursday night. BTW – you ladies are the BEST! I have so much fun at these classes! Here are the non-Christmas cards we made at that class.

There's a family joke surrounding this card and why I chose the brown turkey.

DSCF2317 Although I like them all, I think that these last two are my favorite. Stay tuned tomorrow - I will show you some of the Christmas cards we made.

Happy Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

What a wonderful day to celebrate all that we have to be thankful for. I am so thankful for my family, my friends and all the wonderful ladies I have met through the classes held here in my home. Most of all I am thankful for my Savior who endured death on the cross that I can have life eternal. Praise God!!

These are just a couple of the Thanksgiving cards that I sent out to my friends and day care kids. But this next one really makes me smile. We went out to dinner with some dear friends Tuesday night and I really wanted to bring a card to her since she shares my love of card making.

Trash or Treasure

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

DSCF2337 DSCF2336DSCF2335 I had bought these pine cones several years ago for a fall display. When I first bought them they smelled of cinnamon and filled the house with wonderful fragrance. Why I hung on to them all these years I’ll never know, but now I am glad that I did because the girls had so much fun making these fun pinecone people. It is hard to see but we actually gold embossed the edges of the pinecones. And guess what? When I heated up the embossing powder, they smelled like – CINNAMON! This is my granddaughter Gracie on the right and one of my little day care girls.

Wedding Favors

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

At one of the craft sales I was at a lady asked if I had any wedding favor ideas. I figured most anything I had there could be revamped to serve as a wedding favor by changing up the paper and ribbon, etc. I promised to come up with some samples for her and would have them at the Hudsonville Craft Sale. Here are the items that I came up with. Which one do you like best?

DSCF2293 DSCF2268

The box and bag could hold whatever treat you would choose.

DSCF2274 DSCF2277

The little box fits 4 Hershey Nuggets or some Ghiradelli Chocolates real nice.

The one on the right are two York Peppermint Patties

DSCF2280DSCF2284

This card says “Wishing you riches From the new Mr. & Mrs. and holds a lottery ticket inside. I am not a lottery ticket buyer myself, but I know there are some of you out there that would get a real charge out of a guest favor like this one, and I thought the card made up real cute.

DSCF2281DSCF2282 This one was the favorite of our daughter Julie and her husband Jeremy, and they are holding 4 Hershey Nuggets. They thought it was neat how I used their wedding as the sample on everything.

HHS craft sale

Sunday, November 22, 2009
WOW!!! The craft sales are finally over. Actually I would love to take a day and GO to one myself to see all the neat things out there. Hudsonville's Craft Sale was VERY busy. The customers kept us hopping that's for sure, but we loved EVERY MINUTE of it. Thank you to all who stopped by to say "HI" and even to buy some goodies. To be honest I am looking forward to having some days ahead with nothing on my plate. There are a couple projects going before I can crash, but I am always thankful for the orders that come in. No photos today because I didn't grab my camera, and I am not sure I would have had time to snap a photo anyway. So...Thanks again everyone! It was a BLAST!!

Oh, and just to get you all excited - if you come to STAMP 10 class in December (Tues 16th or Thurs 18th) I have a special Christmas gift for you!! BTW - Thursday's class is almost full already so sign up soon to reserve your spot at my table.

More exciting news - As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator we get our new mini catalogs early so we can order early - Oboy, Oboy, Oboy (as my friend Rachel says). I have ordered the mini catalogs to come right to your home (for my regular customers), but will have more on hand for anyone who would like one. I can't wait to try out all the new things.

So for now... Happy Stamping

Reindeer

Friday, November 20, 2009

These are my Reindeer themed craft items. The tall one holds a large Hershey Candy Bar, and the bag on the left can hold whatever you would like to give. Maybe a gift card for your childs teacher along with some sweet treats. The two bags hold Magic Reindeer Food and Reindeer Noses. I sold out of the large Reindeer Candy Bars at the Grandville Craft Sale so had to make a bunch more to sell at the Hudsonville Craft Sale tomorrow. Hope to see you there!! The sale opens at 9:00 am and goes until 3:00. You can also enjoy the Hudsonville Christmas Parade that goes down 32nd St. and ends at the Fire House.

Candy Cane Holders

Thursday, November 19, 2009

DSCF2204DSCF2202

Here are some fun and inexpensive little candy cane holders. I really would not like to find a mouse in my house, but this one sure is cute and I bet he wouldn’t hurt a thing.

DSCF2194

Click here for the how-to and pattern for the little mouse. Once again I found it on Dawn Griffith’s site. You can check her out too using the link on the right side bar of my blog. The Little Snowman candy cane holder was found on Nancy Riley’s blog http://stampinat6213.blogspot.com It was found on her December 10, 2008 posting.

TicTac

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

DSCF1897 Wouldn’t it be fun to find these cute Tic Tac treats in your Christmas stocking? Or how about as a treat by each place setting for your Christmas dinner? Inside the snowman ones is this little poem:

“He’s cute, cuddly,

and full of good wishes;

He wants to give you

these snowman kisses.”

Once again SCS is my friend for finding cute ways to package these fun treats. I attached the Tic Tac with a medium sized glue dot.

Trash or Treasure

Monday, November 16, 2009
My Husband, Dale, loves to drink the Starbucks Mocha Iced Coffee. I saw some ideas to recycle these on SCS but this one is my favorite. So I fill 2 bottles with a homemade hot chocolate mix, 1 bottle has mini marshmallows and the other has peppermint sticks. Decorate the jars and box, add a cute poem, and you have a great teacher gift.

Here are some individual ones, and you can see the poem as well.

DSCF2088DSCF2207

RECIPE:

HOT CHOCOLATE MIX:
1 pound Nestle Quick

1 pound powdered sugar

8 1/2 Cups Dry Milk

1 1/2 Cup Coffee Mate Creamer

*do not use off brands of chocolate or creamer

Use 1/4C for each serving

Makes 68 servings (16 Cups)

We're Home!!

Sunday, November 15, 2009
We arrived home safely last night. It is bittersweet, so to speak. We had so much fun, but home really is the reality of life and no one can live a life of vacation. I am excited about the busy week ahead with 2 STAMP 10 classes, and preparations for the Hudsonville Lions Club Craft Sale at Hudsonville High School on Saturday, November 21st from 9 am to 3 pm.

There is still room at either class so call soon to sign up.

Hop on over to the Waite Estate blogspot on the right side of this post and click on our sign to check out a recap of our vacation. I will stretch it out between several days so keep on checking to catch all the high lights. Pin It Now!

Gift Card Holder Challenge

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

DSCF2042 DSCF2347

Our Stampin’ Up! up-line Demonstrator meeting was scheduled for Tuesday night, November 8th and the challenge was to bring a gift card holder.  We made this gift card holder at October’s STAMP 10 class so how easy was that for me to just have this one for our challenge.   Since I am out of town and can’t make the meeting they will still be able to see this gift card.  I am curious to see all the other varieties of gift card holders the other gals came up with.  I put my business card in the little pocket so you could see how it would look with a gift card in it.

Picture 003 Picture 001

Last Sunday we enjoyed listening to Jeff and Jess sing in church during the evening service. The song they sang – A BETTER WAY - gave great praise to our Heavenly Father. Jess has been such a blessing and her talents in music are much appreciated and compliment Jeff just as much as his talents compliment her. We pray that their desire to serve the Lord and walk in obedience to Him will never waiver. Thanks Jeff and Jess for sharing your gifts with us.

Florida or Bust!!

Saturday, November 7, 2009
Today we leave for Florida for a one week vacation with all the kids and grandkids. We have been planning this trip for 2 1/2 years and the time has finally come. I don't (plan) to post while we are on vacation (however I might just sneak a couple in there) so keep checking each day to see what you may find. In the mean time...

Here we are in 1995, the last time we took the kids there. Julie is 16, Jeff is 14 and Joey is 9. Oh how we have all changed over the years!! Look out Mickey - here we come!!

DSCF1501DSCF2107

Well, I would definitely say “Treasure” when the container is full but what about when it is empty? (No I did not eat ALL the chocolate covered raisins – I used them for the craft sales) One day recently I took my little day care girl to a play group and one of the games they had there was the one where you drop clothes pins in a jar. I remember playing this when I was a little girl, so I thought what a good way to reuse the empty jug. The labels were too hard to get off so we covered them up. I let her pick out the paper she wanted on it and then gave her some princess stickers we had on hand for craft time and she put them wherever she wanted. When she was done putting it together we had a fun game to play.

Grandchildren are Special

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Anytime spent with our grandkids is special!!

DSCF2126

Recently we were given this hot tub from a family that Dale has been doing custodial/landlord work for and Gracie and Tyler think that spending time in the hot tub is great fun. Believe me – they don’t normally just sit there, but when the camera came out they thought they had to pose. Can’t wait until there is snow outside, then it will really be fun!!!

DSCF2162 DSCF2163 Tyler is in the second grade and the Hudsonville schools recently had their annual Trick-or-Trot. Here he comes to finish out his lap around the football field. Gotta love the turkey mascot! See Grampa – - Turkey’s are BROWN.

Since I run a daycare in my home I don’t always get a day with just Gracie, but on this day little Sarah was sick so we headed to the mall to play at the tree house and ride the carousel. This was one day before Gracie turned four years old. Click here to see Gracie’s before and after pictures of her new hair cut. We just had so much fun spending all day together.
