Paper Pumpkin Snailed It!

Thursday, February 4, 2021

Before I get started I need to put out a correction - The Hey Chick that I posted yesterday and stated that it ran through February 28th, I was made aware that it actually runs through June 30th! Whew! I'm so glad you have more time to grab onto those 2 bundles. Click HERE to see yesterday's blog post.

AWOL!

Yup that's me!

I'm not sure why I am struggling to maintain my daily blog, but I am told that some of you really miss it.

So what have I been up to?

Can you say "babysitting?"

Sweet Little Liam stays with Gramma a couple days a week.

Such a sweet boy! My arms are very happy when he is here!!
I set aside all other plans and just enjoy my time with him.
Liam is 3 months old now and nearly 10# - not bad for coming 6 weeks early.
I found this cute little Pooh outfit when we were vacationing in Arizona. We have quite a history with Winnie the Pooh so I couldn't resist the purchase.
My mother's oldest sister, lovingly called Auntie Cene (Maxine) was everyones favorite. She worked in the children's department at Sears back when Sears had the exclusive rights to the Winnie the Pooh branding. (before Disney purchased the rights). Auntie Cene was our Pooh! She passed way too young - even before Liam's daddy was born. But this makes Pooh a family favorite.
Today I thought that I would share with you some of the cards that I made with the January Paper Pumpkin Kit
The stamp set included with the January Paper Pumpkin Kit has a cute little snail, but these snails were actually cut from the SNAIL MAIL 12x12 Designer Paper (#154577) - love how Stampin' Up! coordinates everything!

I also couldn't resist adding some puppies from Bella & Friends and even though this set is retired, and because we love our pups so much, I find myself adding puppies to many of my cards.

Here's a photo of our 3 pups. Can you believe they posed themselves like this? I was shocked!

This Valentine card was a big hit at this past weeks Come Stamp With Me class.

The "Happy Valentine's Day" stamp is from a past Paper Pumpkin Kit. Can you see a theme here with Paper Pumpkin? You have until February 10 to subscribe to the February Paper Pumpkin Kit so that you don't miss out on the exclusive fun.

Here is your sneak peek for February's kit

This is what Stampin' Up! is saying about the February kit

  • Kit contains enough supplies to create 9 cards—3 each of 3 designs—and coordinating envelopes. Kit includes card bases, decorative die-cut pieces, embellishments, and more.
  • Card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
  • Envelope size: 4-1/2" x 5-3/4"
  • Coordinating colors: Basic Black, Bumblebee, Just Jade, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Rococo Rose
  • Coordinates with the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper, an exclusive Sale-A-Bration item.
  • Please follow the link below to subscribe

Now back to some more Snail Mail cards:

Loved this idea, and the January kit coordinated with the Snailed It Bundle, and do you see that mini envelope die?  Perfect size for this card

HOWEVER... I had not purchased the stamp set or dies, so went to work and created my own mini envelope pattern

This little snail was stamped with the Paper Pumpkin snail stamp and colored in with the light and dark calypso coral blends. Instead of a heart on it's shell for Valentine's Day, I cut out one of the little gifts from the Snail Mail Designer Paper.
This next one is a little bit smaller than our normal 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", but I needed to scale it down so that the size didn't overwhelm the little snail. The Mint Macron circles were created using a Sponge Dauber, then cut out with the second largest Stitched Rectangle Die.
Last, but not least, is the card that I made for our mail carrier. He is probably wondering who this gal is who is mailing out so many cards on a regular basis. He deserves a lot more than just a card!!
Some of these cards I grabbed inspiration from the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook page, and for the life of me I wish I had documented who inspired me because they sure deserve the credit. This last card was inspired by Elizabeth Hebert as seen on Rachel Tessman's blog post

Don't miss out on next month's Paper Pumpkin kit!

Weekly Challenge

Monday, August 24, 2020
I was a bit disappointed in how many participated in the last weekly challenge so last week I just told them to share what they have been working on, and wow! did they ever start sharing...
Rachel shared that she was working on completing her July Paper Pumpkin kit
She also shared that she tried the MIRROR IMAGE technique with this seahorse card
Linda K shared that she made these post it note treats for the nurses that work at the nursing home where her mother lives. How very thoughtful!!
Some more cards that Linda worked on
Janell has been working on some fun folds. the Stamp Set that she used is called HALLOWS NIGHT MAGIC
And she also made some gorgeous Christmas cards: she called it de-bossing because she put the silver foil into the embossing folder backwards. Kind of like a happy mistake. The Bundle she is using on this card is called CHERSH THE SEASON.
Janell also made this pretty partial die cut technique card
Lynda C. has been playing with her CUTE FRUIT Stamp Set. She said that her daughter thought that she was using Designer Paper --- and that is the best part of Stampin' Up! stamps, we can make our own back ground paper for our cards.
Pam has been busy working on making cards for the teachers at a school near her home. - How very thoughtful!!
Not everyone was just working on cards -
Cindy made these barn wood tables for her daughter - now that's real talent
Bonnie shared some cute get well cards from BACK ON YOUR FEET stamp set. I guess as we get older we send out more cards for hip or knee replacements LOL!
Carla made a couple very pretty cards - I love how she layered the greenery
Jodie has been working on scrapbooking - and it looks like she has a pretty cute subject!!
Inez's team do an online group event on a fairly regular basis since so many from her team live at a distance. I applaud how well she takes care of her team.
This past weekend their team made cards using a sketch challenge so they are sharing them with me and I am sharing them with you.
 2 cards from Inez
2 cards from Vicki
All the same challenge, and all different. That is the best part of a a sketch challenge
The last cards to roll in are some more from Linda K - looks like she has kept pretty busy because she made at least 10 of each of these cards...

OR you can sign up for a MONTH-TO-MONTH Subscription, with the ability to suspend any given month when needed.
I also hold a monthly FREE class for Paper Pumpkin subscribers who subscribe under me or if you are on my C3 Team you are also welcome.
We work on the kit as-is AND we make alternate cards (or projects). It's so fun to bounce ideas off one another.
