Happy 40th Birthday

Thursday, July 25, 2013
When I was only 16 years old my two oldest sisters gave birth to their babies only 4 days apart.  Marcy was my sister Vicky's oldest child and Kevin was my sister Judy's second child.  In fact Kevin was born on my dad's birthday and shares Grandpa's middle name.  Well, this year Kevin and Marcy turn 40 years old.  So hard to believe.  I remember taking them with me and carting them around like they were my own.  Kevin lived close by, but Marcy lived north and ended up moving farther away.  Now as adults I get to see Marcy all the time and Kevin has moved to California.  Oh, how time changes things.

In honor of their birthdays I am showing you a 40th birthday card inspired by Elizabeth Edwards, featuring my beloved owl punch.
Thanks for stopping by!

I made a template for paper piercing the circle by punching
out a 1 3/4" Circle, and then drew lines every 1/4" across it
then I laid it on the card front and pierced at each line marking
The little critters, hats and numbers were stamped on a separate
piece of Whisper White and hand cut out.  Lucky for me I LOVE to cut!!

Satin Ribbon Flower Technique

Thursday, July 7, 2011
The second technique that we learned at this months class
was how to make this pretty flower from 5/8" Satin Ribbon

Click HERE to see a video tutorial on how to make the ribbon flower courtesy of France Martin
I'm pretty excited that I get to meet France for the first time at Convention in Utah next week!! Not only do I get to meet her, she will be one of the gals sharing our room at Convention.
I can hardly wait!!

Notice the blue Rhinestones...did you know that you can color your Basic Rhinestones
by using a Sharpie Marker? That way you can have any color you wish.

Here is a second example of a Satin Ribbon Flower...

Want to learn some fun new techniques to use in your own card making?
Next month's technique class is scheduled for August 23rd at 7PM here in my home.
If you live in the Hudsonville area feel free to contact me and attend a class.
Cost is only $12.00 and you will learn 3 new techniques.

Don't live near me, but still enjoy looking at my blog?
Click HERE to place an order at my online site.

Have a Blessed Day!!
