Malachi 1:11

Our church has hired a new pastor and we absolutely love him and his family!  He began in September of 2015 and our church body is growing already.  Not just in numbers but in unity! - I just love it!!  He started a sermon series last Sunday on the book of Malachi.  He wanted to have anyone who is of artistic talent (dance, music, readings, skit, art, etc) to study the book prior to his sermon series and then submit some form of art.  This all took place last Friday night.  I absolutely loved the dance number - this gal is so great how she choreographs her pieces.
The verse I chose to high light for my Malachi submission is chapter 1 verse 11a "For from the rising of the sun until the setting of the same, My name will be great among the nations."
I envisioned beautiful sun-scapes on greeting cards.  I googled sunsets, and I checked out other card makers on Pinterest, and cased a few to come up with 7 cards for my display

Then I went one step further and sponged this next piece on a 5x7 so I could frame it.  Our daughter-in-law, Jessica, was so sweet to agree to do the beautiful calligraphy verse on it for me.

This was my display:  all displays will be kept out throughout the 8-9 week sermon series.

Here are the other submissions - I loved them all, and was intrigued by how each artist chose a different section of the book of Malachi that stood out to them.

This first one is hard to see because of the glare on the glass but she took the 2 pictures you see on the right and made a double exposure photo in black and white.  It is very moving.

This second one is a hand crafted wooden bowl - absolutely beautiful!

This one is a favorite - it depicts the hands of a husband and wife

With Heartfelt Sympathy

These are 3 of the cards that we made at this months Stamp A Stack Class, all 3 with the theme of either Get Well or Sympathy.  Sadly it seems you can never have too many of these cards on hand.

Inspired by Jan Tink. YEAH! for 2 returning stamp sets THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS and SERENE SILHOUETTES as well as the returning NATURAL COMPOSITION SPECIALTY PAPER

Inspired by Jennifer Conrad.  YEAH! for the amazing LOVELY AS A TREE stamp set that returned once again - it is the most loved and versatile stamp set Stampin' Up! has (in my opinion), and Welcome to a NEW Hostess Stamp Set SIMPLY SKETCHED, and NEW embellishments called CANDY DOTS.  They are perfect for adding the look of a brad but not the bulk. (and no, they are not candy, they just resemble the yummy sugar dots we had as kids)

Inspired by Dora Visky.  WELCOME to a NEW Background Stamp WILDFLOWER MEADOW! Love this stamp! and it has a coordinating Textured Embossing Folder.  On this card, though, we stamped it with Versa Mark and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment - from the favorite TEENY TINY WISHES!

RHSSC #65

This is my take on the Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge for this week

and this is what we had to work with...

Thanks to fellow Red Hot Stamper, Sarah, who let me borrow her Serene Silhouettes

stamp set for one of my classes, and I kept it long enough to make this

Christmas card for Sarah. (sorry for spoiling your surprise Sarah)
It was inspired by a card I saw by Jan Tink

but fit perfectly with our Sketch Challenge for this week.

Now pop on over to the Red Hot blog to see what the other gals

came up with for this sketch challenge.

Thanks For Stopping By!

Have a Blessed Day!!
