My Kelly finished up her Freshman year at Michigan State College with flying colors and played on the State Softball Team as well.  I am so proud of her dedication to excellence! I just had to make this card for her!

I just love these kids!  Lake will graduate in 2017.  I started caring for them when they were only 3 months old and I feel like they will be "mine" forever.

While I was at it I decided to make up a card using each of the images from the SIMPLY SPORTS card stock...inspired by Tamara on Pinterest.  She made hers using the Note Card and Envelopes, but I decided to make my full size cards.

It's Your Birthday

Happy 29th Birthday to our youngest son, Joey!  I saw this cute pool table card on Pinterest by Susan Sieracki and knew it would be perfect for Joey because he has a pool table in the attic portion of his barn.  It is so nicely decorated (even though he chose to decorate in MSU instead of UofM).

I sponged Garden Green ink onto Garden Green Card Stock.  Punches I used are 1/2" for the pockets and rounding off the triangle (triangle is hand cut).  Owl Builder Punch for the pool balls in Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Real Red, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.  The pool stick was cut by hand and colored with Cajun Craze, Real Red stripes, and a Basic Black tip.  Pool balls and stick were covered with Crystal Effects and let dry over night.  Using the handy dandy Silicone Mat is super helpful with this step because the items do not stick to it and can easily be peeled off and attached to your card.  (Add White Gel Pen numbers before adding the Crystal Effects)

It's Your Birthday!

It is amazing how quickly the years pass.  I can hardly believe my oldest nephew now has a son 19 years old and a freshman in college.  This is the card that I made for Nathan

Happy 19th Birthday Nathan!  Good luck playing football for Concordia College!!  And good luck at your game this weekend!!

Happy Leap Day!!

What better thing to feature on Leap Day than a Frog - the King of Leapers!!

 

MENU:

SS: Tropical Party (retired) It's Your Birthday, "Make a Splash" was computer generated.

INK: Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, So Saffron (sponging on the frog's belly along with Garden Green)

PUNCHES: Small Oval (retired), Medium Oval, Wide Oval, Word Window, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, 1/2" Circle, 3/4" Circle

Accessories: Black Marker, Dimensionals, Sponges,White Gel Pen

*The frog's feet were punched from the Small Oval and then trimmed down.

Techniques Class Challenge

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Our son-in-law, Jeremy, is celebrating his birthday today. So I pulled out a favorite retired stamp set of mine called Classic Pickups, and a retired background stamp called Flannel Plaid to create this card for him. We hope you have a great day! We will be celebrating Jeremy’s birthday, our son, Jeff’s, birthday and our grandson, Tyler’s, birthday on Memorial Day when we all get together.

Thank you to Glenda who let me borrow this stamp set a while back. It was probably her card idea too, I just can’t remember. My niece, Heidi, loves horses and even though she does not have a horse of her own, she loves them none the less and enjoyed caring for them and riding them when she was younger. So even though this card looks a bit masculine, it is a perfect fit for Heidi. Have a great birthday Heidi!!

“J” Term part II

Tomorrow is the big day for my first “J” Term class. I’m excited to meet all the girls and have fun teaching them something that I truely enjoy doing. Sending cards is such a lost art what with emailing, texting and Facebook out there at the tips or our fingers, but it just seems to mean so much more when you get a card from someone who took time to make it themselves.

This week I was asked to make cakes for two different families whose boys were having birthdays.  Grant loves basketball so asked to have a basketball themed cake. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANT!!
