House Warming

This year I had 2 sisters move to new homes so of course I had to make them a house warming card!

 And, of course, I couldn't make them the same card.

Card #1 (inspired by Yvonne) is from a retired set called SWEET HOME and card #2 is from AT HOME WITH YOU and the AT HOME FRAMELITS DIES which are on the RETIRING LIST. I love the movement of each one where the door can open because I know that they both have an open-door policy, very welcoming to anyone who comes.

Operation!!

Here we go again!
Tomorrow I head to the hospital AGAIN for another surgery. I think by the end of the year I will be the bionic woman.
I have never had an stay over night surgery before (except for in 1980 when I had my tonsils out at age 23. Back then you stayed over night to get your tonsils out!!)
The pain I have been experiencing in my legs (and back) I thought was generated from the problem with my feet (which I had surgery on in both January and May), but after my feet were fixed and the pain did not subside down my legs I ended up with an MRI which showed I had 90-95% of my nerves being pinched off in my lower back.  When I saw the MRI images, even I could read the problem!!  I will be in the hospital for 3-4 days.
Hence the reason behind my post for today...
Do you remember this fun game from your childhood? I sure do! my best buddy, Phyllis, had this game and we had fun playing it together.

My friend Rachel made this darling punch art card and I couldn't wait to make one of my own.  She actually sent me the PIN (by Ellen Kempers) a long time ago, but I never took the time to make it.

I made some changes to make it my own, but the basics are the same

What I changed:

1. The WISHBONE was made from the EASTERN PALACE DIES- can you see it?

2. I used one of the little butterflies (for "butterflies in the stomach") that I had on hand from the Butterflies Embosslits, and just added a thin strip of Basic Black for the body

3. The "Leg bones connected to the hip bone" - I used the bone die from the SWEET HOME Die set

4. The "Wrenched Ankle" I used the retired SLOT punch along with the medium sized circle from the retired OWL Builder Punch. It's just a smidge smaller than the one Rachel made.

5. I changed up the embossing folder to OH MY STARS 

To make it easier on myself for the next one I want to make I made up an 8x8 instruction page for my punch art album.  Maybe it will help you too.

What I left out from what is included in the game...

4. Spare Ribs
5. Adams Apple

Happy House Warming

Our youngest son, Joey, and his wife Melissa purchased a new home!  We are so happy for them and for us too because they are half the distance away from us as was their last house.
We have had the privilege to help them move as well as installing new appliances.
Actually I say "we" very lightly because Dale has done all the work since I have been off my feet for way too long.  Today is the first day for me to go there without crutches or medical boot!  Woot WOOT!!
Dale had to get into some pretty precarious spots...good thing he is thin!

Moving them out of the old house was a trip too!! It was easier to hand things down from the second story roof than to go down the narrow stairway! Dale is on the roof and Joey and Jeff are below.

This is the treat and card that I made for them

I filled the little house with Hershey Kisses because I know that their new home will be filled with love.

The card and little house was made using the Sweet Home Stamp Set and Dies.  Aren't they cute??!! They were inspired by Pam Dotts on Pinterest.  There are so many fun ideas you can make with this set!  I can't wait to try them all!
