Convention Make and Takes

Monday, August 29, 2011
Anytime we attend a Convention, Leadership Conference, or any Regional Conferences, Stampin' Up! has fun Make and Takes for us to make up while we are there. I must admit that the only thing I got done during my Make and Take time was to mount my new stamp sets that came in my bag.

I finally took the time to put them all together
to show to the ladies in my down line
so I wanted to share them with you.

This banner held all the card creations we made.

Fancy Pinwheel

Stamp Set used is called Raining Flowers

3 x 6 card

3x3 Card
I love how they planned such a nice variety of sizes all using the same stamp set.

They also gave us this Workshop In A Bag

And it included...

A Cello Bag of four Tags that you can gift your hostess with
I LOVE the little clothes pin clips..

A cute card to demonstrate at a workshop using the new Stamp Set called
EASY EVENTS

And enough supplies to make 10 of these pocket cards
for your Make and Take at a Workshop.
Now with all this help, how can you NOT be a good demonstrator.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get caught up on my blogging, but hopefully everything is settling down and I will be able to keep on top of it.

Have a Blessed Day!! Christi

Coming Home

Sunday, July 17, 2011
As much as I thoroughly enjoyed being at Convention,
I am thoroughly enjoying knowing that tonight
I will sleep in my own home
and in my own bed
(well, at least my own mattress - the bed frame and box spring arrive on Tuesday)

and...with my own husband.

Dale has REALLY been working hard to pull everything together so it looks perfect
for me when I walk in the door. He has faithfully sent me photos of the progress.

Check it out... We have CARPET!!

And cabinet doors!! I can finally move my pantry and dishes upstairs!!

The living room looks so bare, but I will fine tune that soon

I am sure Dale will be glad to move his computer desk upstairs even though
the internet won't be installed until the 30th (HOPEFULLY)

So, just so you stamping fans don't think I have totally forgotten to post any cards, I will show you some fabulous swaps that we either received or at least saw at convention...

You know me, I love the movement cards and this is a new stamp set that is
in the 2011-2012 Big Idea Book and Catalog

A sweet Wedding Card

Love how this lady used rolled up DSP to give the card a 3D look.
The flames are punched from the 2 Step XL Bird Punch and then sponged.
I'm guessing it is So Saffron card stock sponged with Pumpkin Pie classic ink.

These three cards were among hundreds that ladies made and donated to the
Ronald McDonald House charity that Stampin' Up! supports.

Have a Blessed Day!!
(I know I will)

More Convention High Lights

Saturday, July 16, 2011
I imagine by now you can tell I am enjoying my first time at Stampin' Up! Convention. This is the bag that they gave every demonstrator...

complete with all sorts of goodies. One of the coolest is the new Idea Book and Catalog that is in a three ring binder complete with Index tabs. This will be so helpful throughout the year. Oh, they had a pen, lanyard, pin, charm, and 4 - count them - FOUR stamp sets that we will use in our Make and Takes.

Of course I had to have my bag set apart from the rest so I could tell at a glance that it was mine so I clipped on my friend YELLOW that I found at an airport gift shop.

They treat you VERY well here at convention - even a simple box lunch is done up right. Look at everything they put in it. I was able to pack away several items for a snack later.

This yummy cookie is just a sneak peak at a new product being introduced in the Holiday Mini

Sorry, I took a bite before thinking to take a picture.

CANDY!! Look at all the yummy candy... It is my biggest downfall.

Here's Belinda pouring through the new Holiday Mini that they gave each demonstrator - not just one copy, but a whole pack of EIGHT.
Sorry, not allowed to post a photo of the MINI before it is made available to the public.

During the Main Stage sessions they have great ideas and information but they also have what is called the PRIZE PATROL. We were each given a wrist band, kind of like the ones you get at the fair when you buy the 'ride all day' pass. They are colored coded, and I am not sure how many are in each group, but if they call your color band you win whichever prize they are handing out at the time. Here is France who won one of the largest give aways. She was pretty excited!

See if you can guess what might be in this big box.
It is a new item being introduced in the Holiday Mini.

So today is our last day of Convention, and tomorrow we head back home. So glad Glenda and Belinda will be on the same flight as me this time.

I am anxious to see all the changes that have taken place in the condo. Sadly Dale tells me that the internet and cable will still be two more weeks. What a pain. I can live without the TV, but I am really missing the easy access to the internet.

Have a Blessed Day!!

Convention Highlight

Friday, July 15, 2011
One of the highlights for me at Convention this year is that I had a chance to tour the Stampin' Up! Warehouse and offices. The other gals had gone in previous years so I was on my own. It was an enjoyable ride and I met a new "friend" on the bus - one on the way there and one on the way back.

It was unbelievable to still see snow on the tops of the mountains

I was impressed at how large it all was but mostly how clean it all was. It was
fascinating to see how the items are picked from the line to fill our orders.

Every worker there was happy, and you can tell they all LOVED their jobs at Stampin' Up! and I believe it is largely due to the fact that they treat them as equals and as family. It is very evident in everything we saw on the tour as well as what we are experiencing at Convention. Won't you join my team so you can join me next year at Convention? It is a wonderful experience and they are very generous with all the things they are giving away as prizes and Make & Takes.

So while I am away, Dale is slaving away at the condo. He emailed me pictures of the
laminate that he finished laying. He did a wonderful job!! Thanks Babe!!
Next step: the carpet is to be laid today!

Have a Blessed Day!!

More Convention Pillow Gifts

Thursday, July 14, 2011
I loved being able to gift my room mates with their pillow gift (see yesterday's post), but do you want to see what pillow gifts they made for me??

From Glenda I received this FLIP ALBUM and a CD case. She said that she was going to download all our Convention pictures onto the blank CD. Very thoughtful.

This is the FLIP ALBUM opened up. Looks like I am going to have to print out some Convention pictures to make my little album up.

The theme of this years Convention is GROW so Glenda went into the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator site and printed off the GROW logo to embellish the front of her gifts to us.
How clever!!

France gave us each this cute notebook and a treat bag of Hershey Nuggets wrapped in using the new All Wrapped Up Occasions Stamp Set.

And since she is Canadian (but lives in Wyoming)
she thought we all needed a special Canadian treat.

Here is a picture of my Roomies:

France, Glenda and Belinda

Oh, Belinda purchased everyone's beverages at lunch yesterday as her treat to us.

Already I have met some great gals and the Convention has just begun!

Have a Blessed Day!!

Convention Pillow Gifts

Wednesday, July 13, 2011
When I went to Leadership in Nashville, TN last January, Glenda gave all us roomies a wonderful gift. I am so new to this and did not realize that it was THE THING to do. I just could not wrap my brain around the perfect item I wanted to take to the ladies so I called on my good friend, Rachel, to help me once again. And look...what a great idea she came up with. (sorry Rachel I could not find the photo you sent me to put it on the blog, but these are so very close)

CLOSE UP

INSIDE:
2 yummy chocolate bars and every demonstrators favorite, Stampin' Dimensionals!

Rachel chose a clear stamp case and embellished it with designer paper.
All I had to do was chose my own designer paper
(I wanted to make sure it was a current paper).
The Stamp Set she chose was perfect, called...The Nicest Things.

Thanks again, Rachel, the ladies loved them!!

Have a Blessed Day!!
