Craft Sale

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

Yesterday I told you that one of my top sellers at the craft sales is my Candy Bar Sliders, but really…Chocolate seems to sell itself!  Here are my giant Candy Bar Friends.  Aren’t they just the cutest?  Frankie is perfect for the Halloween season but I made a LOT of snowmen last year and even took orders for more.  This year I added Rudolph – How Cute!!  And once again at Saturday’s sale, Mr. Snowman was the top seller.  Wouldn’t you just love to find him in your stocking this year?

Craft Sale

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

One of the top sellers at the craft sales (for me) seem to be my Candy Bar Sliders.  These are so much fun how you pull on the ribbon and ooohhh – out pops a candy bar!! One gal (last year) bought them for all her hair clients and attached her business card to the candy bar.  But think how sweet it would be to pull it out and not only do you get chocolate but a gift card attached!!!  Another lady (last year) bought them to put at the place settings for her family members for their Thanksgiving dinner.  These, of course, are just a sample of the Christmas ones we sold at the craft sale.  Sue actually sold a ton of Halloween themed candy bar sliders at Saturday’s craft sale.  Way to go Sue!!

 DSCF1885DSCF1886

My friend showed these candy bar sliders to her friend who is a RED HAT LADY and she asked me to make special ones designed for her group of Red Hat Ladies so this is what I came up with… Aren’t they cute??  She LOVED them!

DSCF0937 (1)

THEN… she and her group of ladies were going on a trip together and she asked me to make more and gave me the theme of “Wine and Cheese” so after scratching my head a bit, this is what I came up with…DSCF1115 DSCF1116 (1)

I just love that little mouse!  The tag says “If you give a mouse some cheese… she will probably want some wine and crackers to go with it.”

Want to make some of your own?  Just cut your designer paper to 6x6 score on one side at 1/2” fold on score line, then fold in half. Use red line sticky strip tape to seal side and bottom.  Then using your crimper, crimp the bottom edge just a bit – about 4 lines worth.  Using your crop-o-dile punch a hole through both layers at the top using the smaller of the two punches.  Insert 16” of 1/4” ribbon, push in your candy bar, adjust the lengths of your ribbon, then tie.  Decorate as desired.  If you make some I would love to see what you have done so please share pictures with me.

Trash or Treasure

Monday, September 28, 2009
My friend Rachel and I are doing a Trash or Treasure battle and she is way ahead of me with the items we have decided to face off on, but this is one I had on hand and I needed a post for today. Sorry, Rachel, I will get to those others I promise - when life slows down - yeah right! Actually right now I am sitting at Zeeland Christian School with Sue for their craft sale. I did really well last year and am hoping to do well again this year.

These are my favorite Mandarin Oranges that I get at Costco. As you can see they have the pop top lid. What I do is use my Pampered Chef can opener (that opens around the edges and leave the lid able to reuse or recycle) to cut off the BOTTOM of the can leaving the pop top in tact. I molded chocolate turkeys and put them in a little zipper bag and sealed it up using
Stampin' Up's! Crystal Effects to seal it back up. That way the lucky recipient gets to pop the original top to get to her goodies.

MENU:
SS: Pick A Petal
CS: Rose Red, Summer Sun, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Close to Cocoa
INK: Ruby Red, More Mustard, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Ribbon, 1 3/8" circle punch, large oval punch, five petal punch, Boho Blossom Punch, large and small tag punches, Crystal Effects

Craft Sale

Saturday’s craft sale at ZCS went very well for us.  A big Thank you to Sue who shared the booth with me and helped a bunch.  It is so much more fun having a friend with you.  The two booths right by ours had very disappointing sales so we are VERY THANKFUL to have done so well.  Now just to gear up for the next Craft Sale at Grandville High School on October 17th.DSCF1928 Ooh! Happy Birthday Jessica!

Saturday, September 26, 2009

DSCF1845 DSCF1846 DSCF1847 Well, Jess’ birthday was actually on Friday but I didn't want to post this and spoil the surprise. This is called a Cupcake Take Along, and I got the idea from Lorri Heilings blog. Click here to see her post and link to the original pattern. How fun, this can be changed up for any holiday. In fact I made one up for Tyler and Gracie for Valentine’s Day 2009. Check out Julies blog if you want to see that one. It holds a full sized cake mix and three tubes of decorations. The pocket here holds Jess’ birthday card which looks just like an apron, but it could hold some of those hard candies you see in the baking isle of your grocery store. That is what I put in Tyler and Gracie’s kit. To top it all off I just embellished a can of store frosting. I know, it isn’t as good as home-made, but I can’t box mine up … hmmm now there’s a thought.

Garage/Craft Sale

Friday, September 25, 2009
All set up and ready to go
Yesterday was DAY 1 of our Garage/Craft Sale, but all of you who have ventured in to having a garage sale you KNOW that setting it all up is a HUGE job. Thankfully we were able to borrow several nice tables from church a few days ahead of time so we could start organizing and pull it all together. If you weren't able to make it yesterday there certainly is plenty of stock left over as this is what I will also be taking to the Craft Sales I have scheduled to be at starting tomorrow Saturday, Sept 26th at Zeeland Christian School from 9 AM to 3 PM. I did really well last year and am hoping to do even better this year. Come check us out!
One of the greatest compliments is when your fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators come and make such nice comments on the product - and even buy a card from you!! Thanks for coming!

Our little helper, Carissa, loved to help exchange the money for the customers and hand them their bags with the purchases. She couldn't understand why sometimes there were no customers coming. Pin It Now!

More Stamp 10 Cards

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Yeah!  This is the last of the cards to show you that we made at last weeks STAMP 10 class.  See what you missed if you weren’t able to come?  Sure hope that you can make it to one of my upcoming classes.  Check out my schedule on the side bar and give me a call or shoot me an email to sign up for a class that will fit your schedule.  I would also like to start a This ‘n That Class and am looking to see if there is interest in this class.  I would need  7-10 ladies who will commit to a once a month class where you would learn a new technique, paper fold or…? It may be a card or it may be something other than a card – who knows, but you know whatever you make it will be great and tons of fun.  Cost for this class is free but you must place a minimum order as each lady will take a turn as hostess earning a FREE Hostess Stamp Set and FREE merchandised based on sales. You will be guaranteed a Level 1 Hostess set and $15 in Free merchandise. Here is an example of your minimum required order: if there are 7 ladies in the class your minimum order will be $21.50, but if there are 10 ladies in the class your minimum order would only be $15.  Why not grab a bunch of your friends and make it a monthly Girl’s Night Out!  You would have fun, and you would be helping one another to earn FREE merchandise

Look at this cute card that came in our mailbox Friday. (I would have posted this on Saturday, but I already had Sue's birthday to honor!) My friend and fellow Red Hot Stamper,Rachel, sent this card to my husband as a thank you for letting us take his convertible to Cincinnati for the Regional Seminar last weekend. What a thoughtful gal she is. She even added a couple feathers from the pink boa that Glenda gave us. Scroll down to see the fun photo of Rachel, Marla and myself in Dale's convetible - all decked out in our pink boas and ready to take on Cincinnati. Thank you Rachel for the cute card - Dale LOVED it!

Happy Birthday Sue

Saturday, September 19, 2009

My dear friend Sue is having her birthday today!!! Happy Birthday Sue!! Sue is not only a dear friend but she is also a cousin by marriage. (Our husbands are first cousins.) We enjoy so many of the same things including our love for card making and scrapbooking. Sue is also my first Stampin’ Up! recruit (who-hoo)! and we make quite a team by sharing stamp sets and this particular stamp set is one that I seem to borrow from her quite often – it is call Crazy For Cupcakes and it goes very well with the Party Hearty Stamp Set that I own. When I saw these cute paper plates and napkins I just knew what I wanted to do to make her birthday special – because she is so special to me. I used our Place Settings XL Die for the BIG SHOT to make the cupcake wraps to coordinate the whole thing together, and I even found pink plastic utensils to top it all off.DSCF1838 DSCF1833

Here’s a closer look of the napkins, and the plates are just like it. I was thinking I might punch out some 3/4” circles in WW to decorate the bag, but decided that sometimes it can be over-kill, but I REALLY do LOVE POLKA DOTS!!

We had so much fun this week at our STAMP 10 class.  I split the option between two different nights so all totaled we had 10 wonderful ladies attending.  I thought I would step out of the box and the ladies made one Halloween gift  box that matched the Halloween card we made.  I just love hearing the ooh’s and aah’s when they make the cards.  You ladies are the BEST!!  I really appreciate you all!

Step 2

My cast is off and I am fitted with a new brace for two more weeks. Jump on over to the Waite Estate blog on the right side bar to see some pictures of the unveiling.

Here are the Make & Takes we got and assembled at Stampin' Ups! Regional Seminar. They were all made with the stamp set they gave us called BERRY CHRISTMAS #116509

Notice how we stamped our envelopes too. They told us that we should never give a 'naked' envelope with our beautifully stamped cards. I must admit I am not very good at that.

Just a cute little note card

This is a little cello bag is filled with 3 x 3 notes and topped off with a bag topper

This little box is cut from the BIG SHOT die called Bitty Box And Envelope #115967 and filled with cute little Christmas tags

We even made a 6 x 6 scrapbook page, so I just had to find some wintery photos of Tyler and Gracie from Winter 2008 to REALLY make the page cute.

Regional Seminar

Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Oh my Goodness!!! we had soooo much fun this past weekend at the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Cincinnati, OH. We left Friday afternoon all decked out in our pink boa's - compliments of our upline, Glenda - Everyone knows that a Red Hot Stamper wears a pink boa!! and ready for our ride in Dale's convertible. Whew! that is a long ride at 70 MPH with your hair whipping in your face. Marla was our driver, and I enjoyed the space of the back seat all to myself. Thanks to Rachel we had a beautiful room at the Sheraton at a superb price. Saturday was Rachel's 34th birthday so Marla and I brought a little gift along for her,but when we get to our room, Rachel had a special treat for the both of us. Click on over to Rachelscraftroom and see what she made for us. We were all so excited about our day that we had a hard time sleeping so were up at the crack of dawn getting ready. After a delicious breakfast at the motel we headed on over to Duke Energy Center for our big day. When we arrived we were sooo excited we could hardly stand it.
We signed in and were given our FREE stamp set BERRY CHRISTMAS from the new Occassions Mini Catalog, and our packet of 6 Make 'n Takes. Marla and I mounted our stamp set while Rachel busied herself with swaps. She was so excited that she couldn't keep from smiling. Look how cute she is...
The rest of the day we listened to a variety of interesting demonstrators. Some showing us different techniques and others giving us great business tips on how to have successful workshops. During scheduled break times we worked on our Make 'n Takes and checked out all the beautiful cards and things that others brought to share. Here is one display board and if you look real close you can see two of my cards on the bottom row.
To top off our day we had or picture taken with Shelli Gardner, CoFounder and CEO of Stampin' Up! Rachel even got a birthday hug from her. Pin It Now!
