Yikes! what am I going to do with this Sketch Challenge?

Well, since today is Easter I thought I had better make it an Easter themed card.
Now click HERE to see what the other gals did with this Sketch Challenge.
Stamp sets: Ears To You, Clockworks, French Foliage
It is hard to see in this photo but I used Bashful Blue and the splat from FRENCH FOLIAGE as my background, then embossed it with the PERFECT POLKA DOTS Embossing Folder.

I thought I would sneak in a couple photos of cakes I made recently...
This little robot was a big hit and ended up getting a second order for the same cake from another family from church.
 Bridal Shower cake...
Birthday cake for an 11 year old birthday slumber party...

Thanks for stopping by!
and while you are at it - how about playing along with us?

Of all the Easter cards that I made this year I think these cards inspired by Lisa Young are my favorite
and they, by far, show the true meaning of Easter, Resurrection Sunday
Have an amazing Easter Sunday celebrating our Risen Lord!

Shaving Cream Eggs

Friday, March 29, 2013
This is one of the cards that we made at this months Technique Class.  When I went to Leadership in Orlando last January this is one of the SWAPS I received.  Actually this is a remake of the swap I received.  I liked it so well that I decided to make it for a techniques class using the Shaving Cream Technique.
On Pinterest I saw someone use this technique to color Easter Eggs and thought that Tyler and Gracie would have fun with the shaving cream.

After we finished coloring the eggs (you can see that the Melon Mambo is predominate) I thought we would try it on Glossy card stock.  Tyler's two color combos were Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight. We mixed the two combos together and this is what Tyler ended up with...

Gracie's two color combos were Melon Mambo and Perfect Plum, Pretty In Pink and ? We mixed Gracie's two combos together and she ended up with this...
Another try, and we left the shaving cream on a little longer and got this...
Next we put the glossy card stock into Tyler's tray then dipped it into Gracie's tray...
Tada! Tye Dyed!

Next step will be to make some fun cards using these.

My Digital Studio

Thursday, March 28, 2013
I'm taking a break from posting Easter cards so I thought that I would share a card we made last week when I had a chance to spend a fun day with my fellow Red Hot Stamper, Judy.

Judy had purchased My Digital Studio, but wasn't sure what to do with it.  Since I have had to ask for help and instruction myself I am always happy to help someone else out.
While helping Judy, we created this piece, cut it out with the Top Note Die and attached it to our card front. Now she is one step ahead for her hubby's birthday.  Thanks Judy for coming to play with me!

Ears To You

Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Bunnies! I love bunnies! When I was a little girls I had a big white bunny with beautiful red/pink eyes and appropriately named Snowball.  So even though I do NOT think the Easter bunny is real, bunnies do represent the newness of Spring.
 A closer look...

These Easter cards were made using the single stamp set EARS TO YOU.  I'm not totally fond of the words that came with it so I used the greeting from DELIGHTFUL DOZEN.  The greenery is from JUST BELIEVE.
The previous cards were inspired by Sandi MacIver
However... this one is my own. The inside says..."Happy Easter" from the WACKY WISHES stamp set
One more... inspired by Melissa Davies - I think this one is my favorite

Graduation season is coming up before you know it and I thought this would be the perfect sketch challenge to work on a graduation card using My Digital Studio.  My friend Rachel showed me how to share in MDS making my card into a PDF.  I really like this card and will probably recreate it with paper and ink, but it helped me to put it together on MDS first.
This is the sketch we had to work with this week
Come play along with us by clicking HERE
and you can also see what the other gals did with this sketch

And we had good news this week regarding MY Digital Studio!
  1. We've changed the name of the software from MDS 2 (and MDS 2+) to MDS.
  2. We've lowered the price. What has been known as MDS 2+ is now $19.95 US/$24.95 CAN
The upgrade will be FREE! If you have been holding onto the original My Digital Studio software, you will be able to upgrade to the new software for FREE. I will let you know when it is available. They have discontinued the item number for the MDS 2 Upgrade (item 130650), but the upgrade will be available soon for free.
