Mirror Image

I received this card from Lynda C - one of the gals on my Stampin' Up! team and thought it would be great to feature this technique at my card club.
Lynda made her beautiful card in monochromatic black and white which is so elegant, but I wanted to change it up to make it my own.
The colors I chose are Old Olive and Early Espresso - great fall colors.
We started by inking up the leaf area of the tree from ROOTED IN NATURE Stamp Set with Old Olive ink, and then coloring in the trunk of the tree using an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.  Before stamping onto the Whisper White paper I used another technique called "THUMPING", using Stampin' Write Markers in Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, and Cherry Cobbler.
I repeated this process and then stamped it onto my SILICONE MAT. Flipped over the Silicone Mat and lined it up with the image and pressed it down. If you don't own a Silicone Mat, you can also use a Window Sheet (acetate clear), but the Silicone mat is much easier and doesn't smear like the Window Sheet.
I created a grassy area by using a scrap piece of paper - lining it up under the tree where trunk meets trunk and using a sponge dauber and some old olive ink.
The water area for the mirror image is from HIGH TIDE stamped in Pool Party (stamped off once)
and the sentiment is from ITTY BITTY GREETINGS
I am loving how this turned out!
The 3 little METALLIC PEARLS really add just that little touch to complete the card.
