Liam Update

How would you like a Liam update?

This sweet babe weighed in at 6# 2oz on December 10th which would have been his due date. He is fitting into newborn diapers and some newborn clothes, already shedding the premie wardrobe.
Joey & Melissa came over Saturday to help Dale with his soap business and I got to love on Liam, which made this grandma's heart so very happy.
Since Joey & Melissa are going to hunker down this Christmas, avoiding a lot of large gatherings, they brought us our gifts that night.
There is something to be said for tradition! Every Christmas (and many times on Thanksgiving too) we have to make Grandma Waite's GREEN PUNCH.
It is a simple recipe with pineapple juice, 7-UP, and Lime Sherbet.
Something that Dale's mom made every holiday gathering. By us making it every year it helps to keep her memory alive in our hearts - It's been 25 years and we miss her sweetness all the time. In fact 2 of our granddaughters carry her name, Katherine, as their middle name.
ANYWAY- I cannot seem to keep a punch bowl without cracking it in a few years so we have just been "making due" with whatever we find on hand.
This year we will serve the punch in style with this beautiful silver punch bowl
It's huge and will hold a full recipe!!
This beautiful ladle is a grape leaf with little grapes on the handle - it's gorgeous!
Joey & Melissa have a heart for giving and another thoughtful gift is this sweet puppy - NO not another real puppy - but this one is special because it holds a heart inside that has Liam's recorded heart beat from in the womb. All I have to do is press his belly and when I hear the heart beat it is a reminder of God's goodness to our family that Liam, although born way too early, is here with us, and is healthy and doing so very well. (a little spitter - but so was his daddy)
Dale also got Automated light bulbs that coordinate with our Amazon Alexa.
Now all we have to do is tell Alexa to turn on (or off) our lights. They know how techie he is so this is perfect. He couldn't wait to set them up. One light he set up is on the deck so that it goes on at dusk and off at dawn. Now we will never forget to turn that light off during the day. (We keep it on so that the dogs can go in and out to potty if needed at night - love our doggie door)
More? did you say more? oh, yes - I told you that they were gifters!! Some new spatulas for me, cashews for Dale and toys for the pups! AND... the kids wanted us to be in the name drawing so that there was no need for them to gift us when they didn't have our name, but Joey & Melissa still want to gift. So thankful for all our kids - we do not need gifts to know that we are loved, but when you are a gifter at heart, it is hard to not share that gift.
