Christmas Tradition/Sentimental Sunday

One Christmas Tradition we started when our first grandson,Tyler, was only 18 months old, was to take our grandkids to have our picture taken with them and then take them to Steak 'n Shake for supper.
We have stopped going to a photo studio (like Sears or JC Penny). Instead we have an outdoor photo shoot or take some pictures ourselves, but the Steak 'n Shake tradition lives on!!
Here is our photo for this year
Sawyer now has joined us for 2 years and next year Lily will join us (after they turn 2 years old).
After supper we came back here to decorate the Christmas tree.
Each year we buy them an ornament making sure to have their name and year on each one.  When they grow up they will get these ornaments to adorn their own tree.
Each ornament is chosen on the happenings or hobbies, etc. of the past year so it makes them special.
I loved listening to the kids as they organized their ornaments by year, hanging them up in chronological order, then telling Gramps and I why each one was special for that year.
Grampa helped Sawyer hang his and Lily's ornaments so that I could capture the pictures
Sawyer's ornament this year was a dump truck.
Gracie's ornament was a sophisticated ballerina.
The older and taller the kids get, the higher the ornaments get on the tree.
Tyler's ornament was another Karate Kid.  This time to represent his second level black belt. (we added the appropriate stripes with my Signo White Gel Pen.
Sawyer loves to feed Lucy, one little piece of dog food at a time.
Gracie wanted to hang some of her ornament higher on the tree like Tyler, so no, she is not as tall as her Gramps, she is standing on a kitchen chair. lol!
We are so very thankful for these kids in our lives!!
We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas Celebrating the Birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He truly is the Reason for the Season.
