Ephemera = What?

Today's cards feature the EXPRESSIONS IN INK EPHEMERA PACK

But in the world is Ephemera?

According to the dictionary, Ephemera is a noun meaning "things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time. 

Well, the EXPRESSIONS IN INK EPHEMERA PACK are gorgeous 

This is what Stampin' Up! says about the EXPRESSIONS IN INK EPHEMERA PACK:

Product colors: gold, iridescent

Both of these beautiful cards were inspired by Mikaela.  On card #1 I didn't have enough of the gold foil sprigs left so I made due with a retired die set called but I had enough of the gold foil shapes left to make enough for a class.

The colors are Mango Melody, Basic Black, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight.

I had just enough of the gold pieces left to make only one of these. Super pretty.  

HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY Stamp Set & CHRISTMAS SEASON BUNDLE are also used on this card with ARTISTICALLY INKED 

This one is one of my favorites - a little understated with just black, white and gold, but I love it so much. It was inspired by Rose. The gold and white stripe foiled designer paper is from EXPRESSIONS IN INK Specialty Designer Paper Pack

Card Make-Over

As I receive hand stamped cards in the mail from my team members or friends, I display them on my ledge and everyone who comes, enjoys looking at them and getting inspiration. I decided it was time to pull down my fall and Christmas cards and start fresh. 

Some of the cards I was able to repurpose because I hate to throw out such beautiful cards. And some I wanted to try and make a brand new card using their technique or fold.

I received this card from a former downline. I've always loved the simplicity of this technique so I wracked my brain to decide what other die I could use that would give me the same type of opening as this first card with the leaf.

I decided to give the CELEBRATE WITH SUNFLOWERS DIES for my card.

I cut out the sunflower opening from Bumblebee cardstock 5" x 3-3/4", then cut the detailed flower from that piece. You have to be careful though or it will not cut well. 

I really hate "flat" cards so I ran it through the STAMPIN' CUT & EMBOSS MACHINE with the retired SUBTLE EMBOSSING FOLDER. I attached it to a piece of the wood grain paper from the IN GOOD TASTE DESIGNER PAPER 5-1/4" X 4" with STAMPIN' DIMENSIONALS.

My card base is a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"

then I added a layer of BEAUTY OF THE EARTH Designer Paper that measures 5-1/2" x 4-1/4". 

I used MINI STAMPIN' DIMENSIONALS on the center circle of the Bumblebee cardstock and added an Early Espresso center.

I debated on the sentiment whether I should stamp it directly on the card front or cut it out and pop it up (which I did) I kind of like this on cards. I think it gives them character.

I added two little, gold, bumblebees to give the card some more dimension.

Same technique, but totally different.

Just Peachy

Peaches taste good all year long, and this SWEET AS A PEACH stamp set is also good all year long.

This is a pretty shaker card that is prepared for one of my Tuesday Classes.

Pun Fun Paper Pumpkin

It really is not like me to pull out my Paper Pumpkin Kit after I have worked on it at our monthly Paper Pumpkin Night. Usually I have used up all of my elements and whatever few pieces I have left, I generally donate. (I have 2 friends that love to take my leftovers and scraps to create cards...one for her adult day care job, and the other for ladies from her church who gather to make cards for their congregation)

What do you do with your scraps?

My cousin gave me a challenge to make a card for her daughter-in-law who loves her Cricut Machine to cut out images and create projects, cards & scrapbooking. Oh dear - how was I to incorporate a Cricut Machine into a card?

I started to think Cricut or Cricket? I went to my clip art and found some images, sized them to my liking and printed them out.  I had these sitting on my table for at least 2 weeks, and every time I passed by it, I would ponder whatever I was going to do. Every time I made a card I would think..."would this layout work?, and what would I use to pull it together?"

When I played with my Paper Pumpkin kit on Paper Pumpkin night, I had cut apart the envelopes so that I could use the pretty printed insides. 

Several days later I pulled out those remaining pieces and saw the curved edge of the envelope flap and my mind kicked in. I pulled out my BASIC BORDERS DIES to give it a better (and stitched) edge. Some pieces are bigger than others, but they both work. I added a second curved layer of Basic White.

I cut out a larger vellum circle because the cute cricket was fairly large - and I came up with this...

My cousin said "this is nothing like what I was thinking, but I love it more than I have words for" *whew!!

Since I liked this layout I thought I should use up the rest of the pieces and came up with a variety of these...

I also had some envelope inside leftovers from the striped printed paper, and when I saw this idea from Mary Fish, I wanted to make some of these up too...

Using the TAILOR MADE TAGS makes making these tags super easy. Since I had run out of the little red hearts in the kit, I used some retired ones. The Poppy Parade twine was also a leftover from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.

Lastly, I had two card bases left over, and several of the printed elements so I quickly put two of these together...

Dale and I will celebrate 45 years together this June! I think that this is quite a milestone for this day and age, but look at this...we are both the youngest of our families - I have one sister and brother-in-law who will celebrate 49 years together in March, a second sister and brother-in-law who celebrate 50 years together in March, and my oldest sister and brother-in-law will celebrate 55 years together in May. My parents celebrated 70 years together just before mom passed away three + years ago.  What an amazing heritage of love and commitment.

A Towering Box of Treats

A week ago was our church staff party

Since Dale is the Facility Manager at our church we have enjoyed this yearly party. In the past (depending on the pastor on staff) it would be held at the pastors home, but our church has grown and so has our staff. Now we need to meet at church with a catered meal by someone in our church.

For the past several years we have had a gift exchange and a fun game of stealing the gift you want. It's always more fun to steal and set the ball rolling.

This is the gift that I made for this year inspired by Sam Donald

The top box has some mints

The next box holds a gift card to a local restaurant 

The third box has some gourmet gummy candy

And the bottom box has some yummy sweet treats.

I thought that the box tower alone would be something that someone would want to steal, but, alas, it wasn't. The recipient loved it though.

I used the Peaceful Place Designer Paper (retired) from the July-December 2021 mini and some Basic Black card stock.

Highland Heather 1/2" Grosgrain Ribbon and Highland Heather card stock for the snowflakes from So Many Snowflakes Dies. 

The So Many Snowflake Dies and the coordinating Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set are still available as they are located in the Annual Catalog that goes through April 30, 2022

Team Swap Cards

At our January Team Meeting we had a team card SWAP using products from the new January-June Mini Catalog and/or the January-February Sale-a-bration brochure.

Our first card was made by Janell

She used the EDEN'S GARDEN stamp set

Card #2 was made by Carla

Carla used the GRASSY GROVE BUNDLE and some of the new Designer Paper you can get FREE during Sale-a-bration

Card #3 is from Susan G - 

She used the SWEET CONVERSATION BUNDLE

Card #4 is from Marlane. She actually gave us the front of the card without color so that we could make it to our liking. I chose calypso coral, mint macron, poppy parade and misty moonlight. The glasses frames are colored in with crumb cake 

Card #5 is from Inez using the AWESOME OTTERS Stamp Set and making it a calendar card, and she too used the SIMPLY MARBELOUS Designer Paper (I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of this paper)

Card #6 is from Pam who used the FRIENDLY HELLO Stamp Set and the coordinating Designer Paper that you can get both for FREE with a qualifying $100.00 purchase during Sale a bration.

I love how she used a layer of vellum over the designer paper. This paper is pretty soft in color but the vellum adds just that little extra bit of elegance.

Card #7 - A few of us used the FRIENDLY HELLO Stamp Set. This one is from Jodie and she used the HEART & HOME Cards and Envelopes as well as the HEART & HOME Doilies.

Card #8 is from Dawn who also used the FRIENDLY HELLO Stamp Set and the coordinating Designer Paper 

This is the swap card that I made... I also jumped on the FRIENDLY HELLO Stamp Set band wagon!!

I own a Brother Scan 'n Cut machine so I was able to avoid a bunch of fussy cutting by stamping a full sheet of birds on the branch, and a second sheet of the larger flowers, run it through my Scan 'n Cut and voila! I had all these cute little birdies cut out with little to no effort. I love to be able to pop up my images because it gives it a nice dimension.

and I am going to give credit where credit is due. I snagged this idea from Marcie B. 

What I changed up: the ribbon. Marcie used the NEW White Frayed Ribbon and I used what I had on hand. The White Frayed Ribbon is already so popular that it is on the unorderable list.
