Team Shoebox Swaps are so much fun because everyone has a different style of stamping, and it is fun to make everyone's cards. These are the cards that everyone prepared for us to make. (and yes, it took is ALL day to complete them)
Anna's card uses the Party banners Dies and the Impressions Abloom bundle. I love that she embossed the Garden Green layer - it really makes it stand out.
Debbie's card - and she went the extra mile by giving everyone a little jar to decorate the top. Debbie is known for using the cute little buttons on her projects which fit perfectly with the Jar of Joy Bundle and the Peppermint embellishments and red striped ribbon
Linda B's card - beautiful with the Floral Charm Designer Paper and the Charming Day bundle
She sure did a lot of die cutting for us, and I love this fold!
When we went to Alaska last year I was hoping to see the Aurora Borealis, but I guess it was the wrong time of the year. We have seen minor night sky lights right here where we live, but nothing as brilliant as this.
Janell's card - this card might look familiar because she also made this card for her shoebox swap when we went to the Glitter Retreat the weekend before. I noticed she did make a change, though on this card by adding ink flecks on the pumpkins and the background embossed piece. She used Beautiful Pumpkins Bundle with the Autumn Toile DSP and some copper foil from Earthen Toned Metallic 12x12 pack
Rochelle's Card - Beautiful! it has a Japanese feel to it using the Inspiring Imperfections Bundle
Our fun, whimsical card came from Sue N. She supplied us with a variety of colors to choose from. I chose the Berry Burst color thinking it will be good for one of my little neighbor girls. The Stamp Set is called Long Time No See
A beautiful fall themed card by Pam using the Natural Botanicals stamp set. What's cool about this stamp set is that you can stamp the leaf images using the flat side of the stamp, then turn it over to stamp the details. Very clever. I didn't put the sentiment on it while there because I might choose a different one later.
A MOST GORGEOUS Christmas card by Karen. She thought it was going to be too difficult for everyone, but it really wasn't. Of course, she did a lot of prep work for us.
Now this would be called a non-machinable card at the post office, because the hoop doesn't bend. Did you know that you can purchase a non-machinable stamp to go with your regular postage stamp and then they will not put it through the machine? We learned so much at the Glitter Retreat when she had a gal come to tell us all the mailing details at the retreat.
Carla prepared these cute little boxes from the Jolly Delivery Bundle. This little box is holding a Reese Peanut Butter Cup (YUM!)
The designer paper has 2 sheets (12x12) of precut images like the delivery truck and the stamp. Of course, I had to make a doggie theme for my box
I am so thankful for everyone who stepped up and helped to make this possible. Janell is my right hand gal for the team retreat. She endures all of my questions and helped with the make & take as well as putting a beautiful door prize drawing basket together (Congratulations, Carla, for winning!) filled with a S'mores/fall theme.
Debbie is another HUGE help. When it was just my hubby and I setting up the night before the retreat, Debbie asked if I needed any help. With that one extra helping hand we were able to set up in no time flat! Debbie has been such a HUGE help after my broken leg, surgery, and 2 week stay at rehab. She came each week to set up for my Tuesday classes and even made cards for the ladies to make, never wanting any reimbursement. After I got home and was in a wheelchair, she still came to help me set it up. What a blessing!
UPDATE: On Monday, October 13, I saw my surgeon who repaired my leg, and everything looks good as it should and he released me from his care!! YEAH! After that appointment I went to PT and said that since the Dr released me maybe I could be done with PT as well. YUP!! WooHoo! what a blessing to be done. This will free up my calendar so much, not to mention the gas to drive there and the co-pay for every.single.time.I.walk.in.the.door!! *Sigh of relief* I thank everyone for their prayers and cards sent during that time. Sure put a crimp in our summer plans, but God is still good no matter what!
FOR EVERY ORDER PLACED IN OCTOBER, I WILL PUT YOUR NAME INTO A DRAWING AND THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE THE ENCIRCLED WITH LOVE & THE 1-7/8" CIRCLE PUNCH
