Wedding’s

Friday, April 30, 2010

Not only does our church body seem to be popping with a lot of new babies on the way, but it seems as though there are tons of weddings coming up this year. I usually keep several varieties on hand but when a cute idea comes my way I can’t resist making it up. This idea came from Celisa on the stampinconnection. 68

What a fun idea – no stamping except for the sentiment on the inside

LIghthouse

Thursday, April 29, 2010

A favorite verse of mine is Psalm 119:105 - Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Such a wonderful reminder to be in God’s word each and every day, seeking the guidance we so desperately need from our Heavenly Father. It’s no wonder that my dad loves lighthouses – I think they are a wonderful physical reminder of God’s light to guide us.

Must Have’s

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

My niece, Melissa, has a wonderful blog called Race Cars and Ruby Slippers. Since they live so far away from us it is so great to be able to keep up with them and see how the kids are growing. It really keeps us connected. If you want to check out her site you can find it on the right side of my blog. She also has an in-home business called “Color Me Happy”where she makes beautiful custom photo announcements, invitations, and greeting cards. (She is not my competition so go ahead and check her out). One fun part of her blog is where she shares her “must-haves” Different things that she just wouldn’t want to live without or things that just make her life easier with three little ones to raise.

I thought maybe I would give a try at a “Must-have” that I use for my day care business. It is a game called Hullabaloo, a DVD game by Cranium. This game teaches the kids a variety of things like shapes, colors, animal sounds, and animal catagories. The guy on the DVD is fun for them to watch as he gives them instructions about which ‘pad’ to go to next. You may need to swing your arms like a bird or crawl like a crab, and they show live animals in their wildlife habitat as well, instructing the kids to make the sounds of the animals.

Hullabaloo 1Hullabaloo 2

You place these ‘pads’ on the floor – which are made of nice sturdy rubber so they hold up very well as you can see – I have had this game for at least 4 years.

hullabaloo3 hullabaloo 4

The cutie on the left is our grand daughter, Gracie, and she is playing with one of my day care girls (their parents asked that I did not publish her name), but as you can see they are having a ton of fun. Sometimes it can get a bit loud – especially when they are imitating an elephant :)

I love games that are educational!!

So For Now…

Enjoy your kids

Three Little Words…

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Never let a good deed go unnoticed. Make sure you thank the people in your life for kindnesses shown. One of my day care families brought dinner in one night for Dale and I – for no real reason except to say ‘Thank you’ – so I am saying ‘Thank you’ back. And a big Thank You to Carolyn White for this fun idea.

Color Me Princess

Friday, April 23, 2010

Every little girl dreams of being a princess, but I tell the kids that I am a REAL princess because I am a child of the King! They all look at me a little funny but I have said it often enough I think it is sinking in.

This is a little kit I put together for the craft sale. I guess the original intent was to use it for traveling to keep little ones busy while riding in the car or on the airplane. I chose the Princess theme so the girls could color in the princesses and then they would have a little card to send to a friend or to Grandma while they were gone on vacation. A little 8 pack of crayons is included.

Color Challenge

Thursday, April 22, 2010

color challenge colors The Challenge at our last Red Hot Stampers Meeting was a color challenge. I probably like these challenges the least. I picked Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Green Galore and Pretty In Pink. Two of the colors are from the Bold Brights Color pallet and two are from the Soft Subtles Color Pallet. I was thinking baby card or something for a little girls birthday and came up with this card, color challenge card 2 but then I stretched my imagination to come up with this lighthouse card. The only Pretty In Pink on this card is the highlights on the lighthouse that I water colored in. color challenge card 1

Another treat for FIDO and a deliciously fun (funny) one for you. The doggie “plop” is chocolate covered almond clusters.

Thanks to Beth Daniels for her treat tin idea and to Jackie Topa for the doggie and dog house treat topper. I’m afraid the ‘sick’ idea of the doggie plop was my own. TeHe.

Craft Sale, Bookmarks and 'Smores

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

At one of last years craft sales a customer asked if we had any bookmarks, so as I was organizing my crafting area I came upon these jumbo paper clips that I had used previously for bookmarks so I got busy with my punches to make these fun reading friends that we will be selling at our next craft sale.

bookmarks 3 bookmarks 1

bookmarks 2 I personally like the lamb because it reminds me of my favorite verses found in John 10:27-29 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

What a wonderful promise found in God's Word for eternal security.

Blessings!!

Any campers out there? Here's a fun treat to bring to your camping friends. Wouldn't they just love to get a fun treat like this? 'Smore's will never taste so good when presented as a gift.

Monkey Juice and Monkey Treats

Sunday, April 18, 2010
I was invited to be a part of another craft sale…this time in the Spring! So I needed to redirect my craft sale mentality to items that would be good for non-holiday related items. It’s been fun to have a change, I just hope that the craft sale goes over well in the Spring. Come join us at Westshore Mall in Holland on Saturday, April 24th from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Rock Star!!

Saturday, April 17, 2010

I had the pleasure to make a birthday cake for the grandson of one of my STAMP 10 customers a week or so ago. He was so cute when they came to pick it up saying “wow, that’s my rock star cake.” DSCF2070 Thanks Geri or letting me make this cake for you.

Geri has been coming to the STAMP 10 classes for quite some time and we always have so much fun. I love it when my customers show me the cards that they make so I thought I would highlight Geri’s lighthouse card from the retired stamp set Coast to Coast.lighthouse Didn’t she do a beautiful job!! April STAMP 10 cards

Friday, April 16, 2010

These are the cards that we made for our April STAMP 10 classes. On Tuesday I had only 4 ladies so I sat down with them and made up the 10 cards to get a “customers eye view” of the cards I choose. I was amazed that so many of the ones I chose this month had a lot of pieces to them. Of course, everything is cut out for them ahead of time, but also because of the two-step stamping promotion we made several cards and two step stamping is just a bit more work – Not Hard, mind you, but there are just more steps (hence the name two-step). Anyway – the ladies still were able to complete their cards in a timely fashion and then stuck around a bit to chat. What fun!! I love these ladies. Thursday nights class was filled with 11 beautiful ladies full of laughter. I am so thankful for each and everyone of them!!!

Just a heads up reminder that the 20% discount promotion for

  • Greenhouse Garden

Two more Charlie – inspired cards

Charlie comes with the cutest little outfits on and it inspires me to make cards using his design – see… I can design a card without copying – even though I am the copy queen. ruff day charlie Charlie came with this cute doggie outfit, so using our D is For Dog stamp set I created this pet sympathy card.

DSCF2071

Then when Charlie showed up with this cute Pooh outfit I wanted to give that a try too.

pooh charlie I typed out the words that were written on his outfit and then printed them out on the computer. Also, using the computer and my Print Shop program I was able to do the “Hello little friend”, cut it out with the Top Note die and the Big Shot and Voila’ I combined the best of both worlds… Stamping and computers!! What a great match!
