Sentimental Sunday!

Sunday, December 8, 2019
You have seen me post before about my dad being in WW11, we all are so very proud of him.
He was on ship, but was able to see when they raised the most famous flag of Iwo Jima. Something that is so amazing to be able to witness
Recently he attended a Veterans dinner at a local church, and while there, he met a man who had gone to Iwo Jima and had collected a bucket full of the volcanic sands from the beach of Iwo Jima.
He heard my dad's story on the WOOD TV 8 News and made sure that he met him that night and then he gifted him with this tube containing the volcanic sands.
He wanted to protect them so he made this wooden cradle and asked me to make a label so he could display it without the worry of it breaking
It's kind of nice to have a hero in the family (of course, don't tell him he's a hero, because he was just doing his job)

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed Lord's Day!
