Three weeks ago I started to experience "floaters" in my left eye.
At first I thought that it was bugs in the house, but quickly realized that wasn't the case.
I also remembered that my hubby experienced some "floaters' several years ago and that they would just go away like his did.
When it only got worse (and I checked out google) I made an eye doctor appointment to rule out a tear in the retina. Thankfully it was NOT a tear (which could cause me to lose my eyesight). However what it ended up being is the vitriol was completely detached from the retina.
The vitriol is the sack of fluid that is connected to the retina and often times people will have partial detachment causing "floaters", but as long as it is still connected to the retina, the vitriol will reattach to the retina and the "floaters" go away.
In my case because the vitriol is completely detached, it will NOT reattach. There is no cure, no medicine to take, no drops to apply. It is an annoyance that I will have to learn to live with but if it gets too bad I can have surgery. I guess the surgery will take out that sack of fluid and put in a new one. That doesn't sound like any fun AT ALL! However - living like this is HORRIBLE - I hope I can train my brain to overlook the black blob that floats in front of my eye as well as the gray haze that covers everything. I think I will invest in an eye patch especially for times like this on my computer or watching TV.
I was trying to come up with a fun card so I pulled out a set of glasses dies and made this cute card
I saw one on Mt Favorite Things to get the cute saying. The stars are stamped with Craft White Ink onto crumb cake card stock. The star is from HATS OFF Stamp Set as well as the star die cut.
