Hippest Hippos

One of the FREE stamp sets that you can get with a minimum $50 is called HIPPEST HIPPO

Aren't they darling? They bring a smile to my face each time I see a new card or project made with them.

Oh, and wait!! for another minimum $50 purchase you can get these dies 

Not only do you get the dies to cut out the three little hippos, you get what I call BONUS DIES...goggles, snorkel, glasses, party hat, life saver, hearts, flowers, and water splashes. Even a little tub, boat and umbrella. Imagine all of the cards themes that you can make with these!!

Here are a couple cards that I made recently, (and I am sure I will be making many more!)

Card #1 also features the SIMPLY FABULOUS Stamp set. There are no dies for this set so the flowers were fussy cut - ok - I admit it, I didn't fussy cut them by hand, I simply stamped a bunch of the flowers using Mango Melody Ink (one is second generation) unto Basic White 8-1/2" x 11" card stock and then ran it through my Brother Scan 'n Cut machine and the machine fussy cut them all for me.

This second card was inspired by Ann K and it features two more Sale a bration items. Sadly the Pool Party card bases are sold out already, and the medallion was hand cut from the Ringed With Love Designer Paper (a free item with a minimum $50 order) - this time I DID fussy cut the medallion by hand because the Scan 'n Cut Machine would not have been able to cut it out with so many details that are not connected to one another. A labor of love is what I call it.

I also used the Hippest Hippos for the treat that I handed out to my team members who achieved top sales for the second quarter.

The plaid designer paper is also from the Ringed With Love Designer Paper that you can get for free with a minimum $50 purchase. The rectangle window was out with a Stitched Rectangle Die.

Nourish & Flourish

Today I am going to feature the NOURISH & FLOURISH KIT

What's cool about this kit is that for every Nourish & Flourish Kit that is sold, Stampin' Up! will donate $3.00 to Food Scarcity - helping those who are going hungry.

I absolutely love the insulated lunch bag - in fact I took it with me on our vacation. 

At our last team meeting, one of the gals brought her insulated bag with her to share (in case others wanted to see it) which made me pull out my kit to show everyone. The following day I decided to put mine together.

If you look in the first two photos all of the cards are white bases, and I really needed a pop of color so I cut them apart and added a colorful base (Pool Party & Calypso Coral) I cut the fronts down to 3-3/4" x 5" and the back of the card to 5-1/8" x 3-7/8". Then I popped it all up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The kit comes with the pre-printed sentiments (in three languages). If I wanted a different sentiment I could have stamped it something on the back side, but then it wouldn't have the border, and that border really adds a lot to the look. I am not a "lucky" person. It is just a phrase/word that I do not use, however I am hoping that others don't mind it as much as I do.

I could have stretched my kit even farther by using the insides to the coordinating envelopes. I do this most often with my Paper Pumpkin Kits, but this time I decided to just use them with the cards that I made.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today my daddy turns 96 years young

We definitely see him slowing down, but he is still doing good, living on his own, making his own meals and caring for himself.  We are extremely grateful!!

His favorite restaurant is called CRAZY HORSE and he loves their ribs.  He also loves the discount he gets on his birthday! Tomorrow he will get 96% off his bill!! How cool is that!!

Two of my sisters still live close by so we will be taking him out for his birthday dinner and it is always so nice to spend the day as sisters with our dad.

Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman. Super handy around the house and wood worker. So this is the card that I chose for him this year. It is a bay window card technique. I know that I shared this card before when we made it for a class but I wanted to honor dad's day by featuring it again.

Recently Dad had his memoirs of being in WW11 "published" and it is so good for him to share after all these years of being silent of what happened during the war

His is very proud of the American flag that hangs in front of his condo. He was also gifted an American flag that had flown over the states capital.

He really doesn't look his 96 years. This photo was taken about 9 months ago so it really is still how well he looks. We are thankful to still have him.

Wonderful World

This time I used the WONDERFUL WORLD stamp set and left off the Gnome.

And it features the gorgeous WONDERFUL WORLD 12x12 designer paper. All FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale a bration (goes through August 2022).

This card was inspired by Amy Koenders

To get the white border you simply use a post-it note or post-it tape to tape off 1/4" on all 4 sides. This is was to do by using your grid paper.

Then using a Stampin' Blending Brush and Orchid Oasis Ink brush the color on until you achieve the shading that you like.

The Happy Birthday greeting comes from VERY BEST OCCASION.

Gnomes!!

Are you a Gnome lover? or do you think they are silly?

I used to think they were silly, but now I've got one in my front rose bed and I have one for each holiday in my decorating.

THEN... Stampin' Up! came out with the KINDEST GNOMES Stamp Set and I knew I had to get it. I guess I kind of like to make whimsical cards.

And check out all of the coordinating dies!

AND... Check out the STORYBOOK GNOMES 12x12 designer paper. The dies cut out the images on some of the sheets. 

This card was made simply with the stamps

I guess this would be considered a clean and simple card (inspired by Su Mohr)

What I changed up... I added a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layer because - well, let me be honest... I'm a layering gal and part of me wishes that I would have cut my Basic White at 5" x 3-3/4" and then added another layer behind that, that measures 5-1/8" x 3-7/8"

Colors: Orchid Opulence & Parakeet Party (2 of the new in colors)

The grasses came from EASTER FRIENDS (retired) stamp set.

The pretty flower is from a FREE Sale a bration Item called WONDERFUL WORLD

This FREE item is free with a $100.00 purchase because it comes with a 12 count pack of gorgeous 2-sided Designer Paper.

My Tuesday stampers will be making this card at Tomorrows class.

Another Gnome card that I made (inspired by Su Mohr) 

The RINGS OF LOVE Designer Paper that is FREE during Sale a bration has 2 full sheets 12x12 of caring sizes of these tree rings. Super cute with the little gnome. This time the gnome is stamped with Memento Ink and colored in with Stampin' Blends. Then the hat was stamped onto some Soft Succulent Designer Paper and hand cut out. I cut out the leaf and the mushrooms also from the Rings of Love Designer Paper. I love making my designer paper do the majority of the work for me!! 

The belated birthday greeting was generated on my computer and then for the inside it says... "if only i had gnome" (also generated on my computer.)
