Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Tuesday, July 12, 2022

Last but not least, these are the Paper Pumpkin alternatives that Bev & I made with our June kit

I created a pattern for the basket, then cut it out from Crumb Cake Cardstock and then embossed it for a basket look.
to get the gingham triangle for the front of the basket, I used an Exacto knife to cut out 1/2 of the square that is on the card front. We cut around the fruit, cheese and bread for a cleaner look. We popped up as much as we could to give the card dimension, and rounded the French bread so it wasn't too pointy. the tags, sentiment and linen thread was all included in the kit.
This darling card was cased from one we saw on the Paper Pumpkin Facebook Page.

What we changed up ... we cut out extra awnings and flower baskets so that we could pop them all up on dimensionals. We also used the card base that came in the kit. (the one we cased used some On The Horizon Designer Paper.

I just love these cute little hippos from HIPPEST HIPPOS. One of the free items in the Sale a bration brochure through August. And of course, I cased this from the Paper Pumpkin Facebook page.

What I changed up...I had no idea what stamp set/dies the originator used for the add-on flowers so I pulled out my LOVELY YOU stamp set.

The Blushing Bride stripe paper is from the inside of one of the envelopes that come in the kit.

I thought that Patty's wine and cheese card was so cute that I decided to make a few up with my leftover pieces on the following day.  I changed up the congratulations stamp by using CURLY CUTE stamp set (retired). One thing we learned with the loaf of bread was to color it all over with the Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil. It gives it a more realistic look. The wine and glass was printed from the computer.

This next card I made on the following day because I had some leftovers to use up. I also had some retired Designer Paper sitting on my workstation and thought it worked perfectly for the extra wagons. Again I used the CURLY CUTE Stamp Set for the happy birthday greeting.

And since I was borrowing some retired products (for the card with the little girl by the farmer's market cart) (Grace's Garden & Birthday Delivery) I decided to make some cards using the Garden Dies. It has this great garden gate 2 piece die.
I used the lavender flowers from the kit, but then it looked too unfinished so I added the cute little doggies (to cover up the stems of the flowers) from LITTLE CUTIES stamp set (retired). However, the doggie stamp was just a tad too big so I stamped several puppies and kittys, then I copied it on the printer at 80%. I guess there is alway a way to get around things.  I added the little bird and trio of flowers because I made a couple smudges and they needed to get covered up. I liked the added look so much that I made all of them that way.
