Here it is just a week past Christmas and what am I sharing today?
EASTER!!
Well, actually I am sharing some new products that are in the new January to April Mini Catalog
I have been working feverishly on prepping for the January 14th Mid-Winter Retreat, but with all my prepping I totally ran out of Basic White Card Stock.
I found some LOVELY LAYERS VELLUM in my stash so thought that I would figure out how to use the printed pieces.
The LOVELY LAYERS VELLUM has these 4 printed designs (you get 5 of each) and then you also get 40 sheets of plain vellum. These pieces measure 3-3/4" x 5" and only cost $6.00I chose a layout by Denise MacCabe but changed up the color as well as the greeting. Product used:
Butterfly Brilliance
Go To Greetings
Dressed To Impress (All Dressed Up) Dies
Color: Calypso Coral, Basic White & Basic Black
The second design I chose to work with is this one with the circle
The spray of leaves is from the FRAMED FLORETS DIES, and I had a couple of these on my workstation from a previous project. They spoke to me as I was making this card and I find that they are just perfect. On each of these cards I am using the brand new (starting January 5th) DANDY DESIGNS Designer Paper. This paper is the coolest, and guess what? It will be FREE with a minimum $100 purchase. You get 48 - 12"x12" sheets (4 each of 12 double sided designs). This is an amazing value!!
The stamp set is called EASTER BUNNY and comes as a bundle with a punch!! Check out card #2 - this is the one stamp in the set that coordinates with the Easter Bunny Punch, but I wanted to feature each of the three bunnies in my cards, so I stamped and fussy cut them out.
Ok - let me confess here...I own a Brother Scan & Cut Machine which is very handy for when you make multiple cards. I can stamp a full sheet of images and scan it through the machine and it cuts them out for me. I was even able to scan and cut out the cute little carrots, eggs and flower spray. I would be curious to know which layout that you like the best.
The third Vellum Design I worked with is the one with the little peppery spots
And of course, I pulled out the little Easter Bunny stamp again Other product used:
Gingham Cottage Designer Paper
Eden's Garden (Eden Dies)
I used an Exacto knife to cut by the bunny's arms so that I could slip a little Easter Egg in his grasp.
The sentiment was stamped on some of the Gingham Cottage Designer Paper and I used some left over pieces from the Eden Dies to add to the top of the greeting that measures 1/2" wide.
I colored in the bunny with the Early Espresso Watercolor Pencil then went over it again with a Blender Pen to soften the lines.
The final design I played with was the Landscape (mountainous) design. This was my hardest one to figure out. I chose a layout by Lisa Brown (no blog post), but I used the vellum instead of sponging a background. I knew that I wanted to use the Mountain Air Stamp Set and I loved how Lisa combined it with the little camper dies. Sadly these dies are no longer available. They were a past Sale a bration free product with a $100.00 order.
I sponged the back side of the vellum with Balmy Blue ink then backed it with some Basic White Cardstock.
I also used:
On Your Birthday (retired) stamp set
Lighthouse Point (the stone images in the ground)This card took a bit longer to create, but I love how it turned out. It's time to pull out (or purchase) your Lovely Layers Vellum and see what you can make.Click HERE to see the LAST CHANCE LIST
