For today's Sentimental Sunday post, it is a difficult post for a Mother's Day
On May 3 at 6:00 am our daughter in law, Jessica, gave birth to our 8th grandchild. A sweet little girl, whom they named Everleigh Hope.
Everleigh was born at 33 weeks and weighed only 2# 10oz. and was 16" long. We have known since January that Everleigh had multiple medical issues and was labeled TRISOMY 13.
Jessica could feel Everleigh kick right up until she actually delivered, but the labor and delivery was too traumatic for this little life and she passed away, and now is safe in the arms of Jesus.
Because they knew about her multiple issues including 3 different problems with her heart, a brain that wasn't developing, and multiple facial deformities, they chose to not seek any life saving help after birth. Even the heart Dr said that he would not be able to fix all the issues that were wrong with her little heart.
I feel blessed that they asked us to come up to the hospital to see her (this was great for closure) and I am also thankful that Jessica asked if I wanted to hold her.Oh the tears that are still flowing at the loss of this precious life.
Her name, Everleigh Hope, meaning Christ is our Everlasting Hope. And although this was the most difficult news that they could have received, they handled it with all the grace that God supplies. They never lost their trust in the One True God who formed this sweet babe. We are so very proud of them.
Jessica called a place called "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep" and they came to the hospital to take some pictures that they can treasure for always. What an amazing ministry they have.
Their 4 children at home are doing great. Jeff & Jess prepared them very well, and I am so impressed with them as well. Grandma was very busy watching them while they were in the hospital. Not sure I have recovered on sleep yet.
A sweet gal at church who also went through a similar situation with one of their children started a GIVE SEND GO fund raiser which will help them cover a multitude of financial burdens.
Prayers are appreciated for our whole family
I choose to picture Everleigh walking with Jesus in Heaven - completely healed, and we look forward to meeting her someday when we also get there.
