Bold Blossom Case
Thursday, March 31, 2011
When I saw this card idea on Stampin' Connection by Chat Wszelaki I fell in LOVE with it. I had some of the crocheted flowers left over from a previous catalog just waiting for a card to land on so I thought it was the perfect chance to use them up. (Chat actually used her own hand crocheted flowers on her card) Now I just wish I had stocked up on more. Thankfully Stampin' Up! picked Pink Pirouette to be one of the colors for their main line in the Subtles Collection. Also a quick note... the stamp set used here called Bold Blossoms from the Occasions Mini is also the one stamp set that they carried over into the Spring/Summer Mini.
Today is the last day to get in on the Sale A Bration FREE stamp set offer with a $50 purchase. I also have only one spot left on my 50/50 board.
What is a 50/50 board?
For every $50 purchase (before S&H and tax) you get to write your name in one numbered spot. When the board is filled a number will be randomly drawn and the winner gets $50 in FREE merchandise of their choice. If the final square is filled today you will also receive a FREE Sale A Bration stamp set. Pin It Now!
March Workshops
Wednesday, March 30, 2011
During the month of March I was blessed to have three In Home Workshops. This was such a great time to hold a workshop because of Sale A Bration. For every $50 each customer purchased they were able to pick one FREE stamp set from the Sale A Bration flyer. In fact...there is still time to get in on this great deal as it goes through March 31st. Contact me NOW if you want to place an order before it is too late to get in on this great deal.
Last night was my last workshop for March and I had an extra special treat - - - One of the ladies that attended last nights workshop was my third grade teacher many, many years ago! It was so great to have her there and connect again with someone who was very impactful in my young life.
These are the three cards that we made at the workshops...
This first card features the Build A Blossoms Stamp Set with coordinating Blossoms Petal Punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I just love how Stampin' Up! coordinates their stamps and punches.

This next card features the stamp set called Easter Blossoms, also from the Occasions Mini catalog. I showed the ladies how they can use our great markers to color the stamps and create a great look. As well as showing them a new look for their ribbon.

I'm looking forward to the Workshops that are scheduled for April and hoping to book several more.
There is a GREAT DEAL in April for when you hostess a workshop in your home or mine... for a $350 workshop the hostess earns FREE a NEW stamp set called Four Frames and a pack of BEAUTIFUL 12x12 Designer paper called Paisley Petals.
Click HERE to see a bigger image and how beautiful it is, and what a great deal this is. Perhaps you don't want to hostess a workshop but would still like to purchase this stamp set and Designer Paper. For a purchase of only $20 you can have the privilege to purchase these two items before they come out in the big Catalog and Idea Book in July.

March Cakes
Tuesday, March 29, 2011
Three more cakes that I made in the month on March... I had to turn down three orders during March as well because of a busy Stampin' Up! and Church related schedules. Looking into April and May I do not see a slow down at all.
This was made for a special young friend at church who's parents wanted to surprise her by having a birthday cake that they could serve to their Sunday School class. We delivered it to the class room early in the morning and they took her to the class prior to church to show it to her. She was so surprised.
This cute butterfly was made for little Julia who comes 2-3 days each week to play with Auntie. Julia turned 3 years old and they planned a special trip to the Frederick Meijer Gardens to see the Butterfly exhibit, so a butterfly cake was just perfect for that occasion.
I know it's blurry but the picture is so sweet of Julia reading a book to baby Eli.
This fun cake was made for a Bride's personal shower. I'm sure it got a lot of chuckles. A gal from church referred me this family when they said they were looking for someone to make a cake for this fun occasion. A little different than the birthday cake I normally make but it sure made me smile.
Stay tuned to see what next month brings...

Filling Orders
Monday, March 28, 2011
This last week I was asked by three different people to make some things for them.
First my friend, Melissa, wanted some funny Easter cards...
See how the one chocolate bunny had his butt bitten off and the second bunny had the ears bitten off so he can't hear what the first bunny said.
Then a gal who had purchased some things from me at the Hudsonville Craft Sale last fall called and asked if I could make her some baby girl favors for a baby shower.
These Jelly Belly Jelly Bean Sleeves were a big hit at the craft sales.
At church yesterday morning my sister asked me if I could put together a variety of get well cards for her so I gathered those together and brought them to her at church at night.
It is quite an honor to be asked to make things for people because they know your work and appreciate what you do. I hope everyone likes their things

March Techniques Class
Wednesday, March 23, 2011
Last night was Techniques Class!! I love Techniques Class because I get to teach something that is most likely new to the ladies.
I'm not sure this technique has a name because it goes right back to the basics of Heat Embossing, but what makes it new is to show the ladies how you can take this stamp set...
(Because I Care, Hostess level one set that you can earn FREE just for holding a workshop with a minimum of $150 purchase.)
and turn it into this pretty gold embossed heart
To make this lovely card...
I guess the ribbon is a technique too as I showed the ladies how to run a simple stitch down the center, gather it up and attach it with Red Line Sticky Tape.
MENU:
SS: Bliss, Because I Care
CS: Marina Mist, Elegant Eggplant, Shimmer White
INK: Versa Mark, Marina Mist, Elegant Eggplant
Punches: Full Heart, Heart to Heart
Accessories: Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, Big Shot, Marina Mist Satin Ribbon, Chantilly Crochet Trim, Thread and Needle, Dimensionals, Red Line Sticky Tape, Aqua painter

March Stamp A Stack Part 2
Tuesday, March 22, 2011
So many times the gals will make a little mistake on their cards and I tell them that there are no mistakes that some embellishment can't hide. Well that is what happened to me. This is one of the cards that the ladies made at class last week...
I wish you could see the sparkle on the medallion where we used Champagne Shimmer Paint. I had one set of cards sets left over so I started making those up last night and didn't realize that a smidgen of the edge was resting on a wet wipe that was laying on my crafting table making the colors bleed, and the card stock get all sloppy. If I had not taken the time to stamp it all I probably would have just set it aside and just use the card stock for another project where I could cut the corner off, but I wanted to try to use it, remembering what I tell the ladies, I thought I should at least give it a good try. A full bow would have over whelmed the stamped image so I just wrapped the corner in question with some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, and then to balance it out I also wrapped the opposite corner the same way.
This made it possible for me to salvage the card front and thus prove that you can always give a good try to hide any errors.
MENU:
SS: Medallion, French Filigree Background, Teeny Tiny Wishes
CS: Crumb Cake, Concord Crush, Very Vanilla
INK: Crumb Cake and Concord Crush
Accessories: Champagne Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber
Technique: Paper to stamp

Here is another card the ladies made at this month's Stamp A Stack... Another purple card...I must be a bit stuck this month on my colors.
MENU:
SS: Bliss - Sale A Bration FREE stamp set - you can get this set too if you act quickly and place an order of $50 before S&H and taxes by the end of March.
CS:Concord Crush, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, In Color Designer Paper Pack
INK: Concord Crush, Perfect Plum
Punches: Scallop Circle
Accessories: Chantilly Crochet trim, Sponge, Basic Rhinestones, Distressing tool
Technique: Rock and Roll

Women's Retreat
Monday, March 21, 2011
It was my pleasure to once again serve on the committee for the annual Women's Retreat at our church. This year we had 106 ladies join us at the Haworth Inn and Conference Center in Holland, MI for an AMAZING time of learning more about our God, the Great I AM.
My particular role on the committee was in the form of 'favors' for the ladies. We do our best to make the ladies feel pampered and loved on. All the way from how they are greeted when they arrive, and a little chocolate treat on their pillow to decorating the meeting room and giving them a treat when they arrive...
filled with some yummy goodies to get them through the weekend snack attacks.
At every session they received a treat. Starting with Friday evening these are the items they started out with.
A Prayer journal and highlighter that we would be using throughout the weekend,
Fancy packaging for the post-it notes that we would use in our journals,
A water bottle with a bottle neck favor and packets of Crystal Light lemonade
Haworth Inn and Conference Center treated us well with a delicious dinner of pretzel crusted chicken, potatoes, veggies, and this yummy salad and rolls.
Our speaker was Unbelievably inspiring and humorous all at the same time...
The music was uplifting...
Our pastors wife lead us in understanding how our prayer journals would work for us to help us stay connected to the Great I AM.
On Saturday just prior to lunch we have a habit to schedule a Discipline of Silence. As a woman you know how hard it can be sometimes to be silent, but this has come to be everyone's favorite time where we can reflect on what we had learned up until then and spend some time in prayer. Who would think 45 minutes could go by so quickly and you are wishing for more.
LUNCH!!
An an after lunch chocolate treat...

At breakfast the ladies found a set of 2 CD's on the Lord's Prayer, but I forgot to take a picture.
Finishing up the day with praise and worship through song. How beautiful to hear 106 ladies lifting their voices up in worship.
After clean up time we spent some fun about-town shopping in the quaint stores of downtown Holland.
So thankful to be a part of this amazing time. Already looking forward to next year.
