Christi's Creative Crew: Baking Day

At Christmas time we enjoy bringing a small homemade gift to our neighbors along with hand stamped cards.

This year I decided to make some delicious ORANGE BREAD. This is a bread that is very cake-like. Super moist and yummy with an orange glaze on top.

Each recipe makes two loaves and we needed 15 loaves so we got to cut into the last loaf!

My momma used to make this bread so of course it became a favorite. The problem is that you cannot find Orange Cake Mix in the stores anymore. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon but I had to buy it in bulk.

The other main ingredient is Orange Pudding, which, of course, you also cannot find in any regular grocery store. However...if you have an Amish store near you, you can find it there.

Just in case you want to give it at try... Here is the recipe...

ORANGE BREAD

1 box Orange Cake Mix

1/2 Cup Orange Pudding

1 Cup Boiling Water

1/2 Cup Oil

4 eggs

Mix all together very well

Bake 350º for 43 minutes.

(my original recipe says 30 minutes but my oven takes the full 43 minutes)

I bet you want to be our neighbor now!! It's a great neighborhood! We have a summer picnic and this fall we had a chili cook off. Also every neighbor gets a birthday card and treat on their special day.
