Sentimental Sunday

Valentine's Day has always been special since it is also my hubby's birthday.
Dale only worked half of the day so that we could spend the afternoon together.
After running some "errands" we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a new restaurant. 

This restaurant is managed by a guy at our church and although they do not normally take reservations, he was so kind to set something up for us for Dale's special day.  I guess it pays to work for the church!!
This is the card that I made for him for his birthday

Story behind this card is that Dale loves bridges. Not sure where he acquired his love for them, but he is fascinated by them so whenever we see a bridge, no matter how big or small, we all cry out "BRIDGE!"
This card was made using the WHEREVER YOU GO Stamp Set and was inspired by Kimberly VanDiepen
And this is the card that I made for him for Valentines Day.

I got the idea from one of the gals in my downline who made this card for her hubby. Chris used the MAGICAL DAY Stamp Set for her card.

I had cut out the Dragon and Knight several years ago using my friends Cricut machine during one of our all-day scrapbook events. It has been sitting here all this time planning to use it for a "Knight in Shining Armor" scrapbook page, but I was encouraged to make it into a card first after I saw Chris' cute card.
Chances are I will probably pull the card apart and use it on a scrapbook page, but at the last minute I put the card together. Since the characters are fairly large (remember I was going to use it for a scrapbook page), I had to make the card a 5x7 card - much larger than I normally make.
Dale really IS my "knight in shining armor" because of how well he takes care of me. Considering I had 4 surgeries last year, 1 in 2016 and 1 in 2018 already, he sure has had to pick up the slack. He daily helps me with my stretches so that my back can get strengthened.  In fact, I cannot even remember when I had to vacuum or mop our floors.  Honey, you sure are the BEST!! Thanks for sticking with  me for over 40 years!
We also spent some time with Mom and Dad - so sweet to see their love that has endured through 71 1/2 years

I never make birthday cakes because our family really aren't cake people. Thankfully my sweet friend, Sue, brought over some yummy Dutch Banket. I guess you can put a candle in any treat!

Valentines From Friends

I just love getting "Happy Mail" don't you!?
These are the cards that I received this year for Valentines Day

This one is from Sandy who is a member of the JUST A PINCH RECIPE CLUB.  These are also the darling recipe cards that she sent for January/February. I just love this edge die cut.

This card is from Rita. Rita is also a part of the JUST A PINCH RECIPE CLUB. And Yes, I will be your Valentine!!

This thoughtful card is from a lady that I met through church. She no longer can attend because she is home bound, but she so thoughtfully sends me cards for the holidays and my birthday. We stay connected because I send her the church bulletin every week and the newsletter once a month. I'm thankful that she still wants to stay connected to the church body.

This last card just arrived yesterday and is from my new friend, Christi.  Christi started up our recipe club of 8 ladies.  We are spread across the US, but are quickly forging friendships through facebook and our recipe club. Christi added another yummy recipe for ur collection, Apple Sausage Dressing. YUM!

Make 'n Take Treats

These are the treats that I made for everyone who participated in the Valentines for Veterans share.

Yummy treats in our CLEAR TINY TREAT BOXES. I wrapped them with the PAINTED WITH LOVE Designer Series Paper
Next up to share is the Make 'n Take project that Inez prepared for all of us.
She showed how she made a Valentine party in a box.
The SILVER MINI GABLE BOXES are perfect for such an occasion.

We each got to choose the Designer Paper pattern that we wanted, and Inez brought along a variety of colored Card Stock that coordinated with the PAINTED WITH LOVE Designer Paper, plus some window sheets.  I ended up decorating my box the following day, and I am loving how it turned out. A few rhinestones really set it off

This is what she put inside each one... Very Clever, Inez, I love it!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

This is the card that I made to send to the ladies who are in my JUST A PINCH RECIPE CLUB.  I just love this sweet Panda. The envelope stamp on the envelope front is from the January Paper Pumpkin Kit. This card was inspired by Chat W.
What I changed up:
I used a different Designer Paper. This one is from TUTTI-FRUTTI Designer Paper stack.
I also eliminated the bulky bow so that when I mailed them, it wouldn't cost me extra.

And I just couldn't resist making this one as my Valentine Challenge Card. (inspired by Mary Jo Snyder) I used the BELLA & FRIENDS Stamp Set and the JANUARY PAPER PUMPKIN KIT.  I made this one special for my sweet friend Rachel who loaned me her stamp set. She has 2 little puppies so this card is so appropriate between us!

This is my week to boast on my team.

Sue shared the cards that she had prepared for her upcoming class.  I just love the PICTURE PERFECT PARTY 6X6 Designer Paper Stack. Sue combined the sugar cookie image with the BIRTHDAY WIT Stamp Set

Who doesn't love the PARTY PANDAS!! My guess is that it is the top stamp set redeemed during Sale a bration (or it might just be me)

And since there is only 4 sheets of each image in the paper pack, some of her guests will be making the balloons instead of the candles

It's Valentine Week!

Time to share the love!!

I was approached to make Valentine Cards for our local Veterans and was asked to extend this to the gals on my team and anyone who is in my circle of stamping.

Look at all these great Valentines! I just love how many we were able to collect!

I love this cute card inspired by Pauline Poindexter on the Demonstrator Planning Place Facebook Page.
The Party Pandas Stamp Set that you can get FREE during Sale a bration (with a qualifying order) seems to fit so perfectly with Valentines Day!
Do you remember this pile of items that I cut out while watching the Big Game?

Can you spot the Party Pandas on the left? Now you know what I used them for!!

I love the sweet blend of Real Red and Pinks (Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo) that are on  this Card Inspired by Chat W.
For the diagonal stripe piece I simply cut a piece of Whisper White 4" x 2 3/4" and using a ruler and a Marker and with the help my grid paper, I created my own Designer Paper.

THIS LITTLE PIGGY sure looks happy that it is Valentine's Day!  Card inspired by Penny McCallum on the Demonstrator Planning Place Facebook page.
