Darling Donkey With Lots of Hearts

I have been having so much fun making cards using the LOTS OF HEARTS BUNDLE

I can't believe that I didn't purchase this bundle to use at Valentines Day, but I love it so much! These cards are NOT just for Valentines Day!!

The DARLING DONKEYS Stamp Set was a Sale a bration FREE set during the January - February Sales period. Good News: there will be a second Sale a bration coming up in August - September. Although the Donkey stamp set is no longer available, there will be more super great stamp to get for FREE with a qualifying purchase. Stay tuned for the details when it gets closer to launch time.

Inspired by one of the Artisan demonstrators, Tami Hewlett.

I left off the wording so that I can use it for what ever occasion comes up. I love the more masculine feel to it.

Colors: Pacific Point Ink on Gray Granite Card Stock. The open heart is cut with Night of Navy Card Stock.

And I'm so excited that the In Good Taste Designer Paper is returning to the new annual catalog for another full year!! Fabulous wood grains, as well as the gray paper that the stitched heart is on.

Thinking of You with Lots of Hearts

Today's card features another stamp set and dies (bundle) that is in the January to June Mini Catalog, but it did not carry over to the new Annual Catalog that begins May 4th. However - the mini catalog goes through June 30th so you have plenty of time to make your purchases from this catalog. 

This card was inspired by Jackie Bolhuis  and shows that you don't need to save all your heart cards for Valentines Day. My cousin requested cards that she could sent to her hospice lady who she encourages every couple weeks with a card and a note of encouragement. I'm so thankful that she uses my cards to do so.

Kangaroo & Company

 Seems like we have a quite a few babies born lately in our church family. This is a sign of a healthy church, I guess!!

I don't normally feature baby cards in my Tuesday classes, but I do like to have enough variety on hand and a supply to sell at the store.

I super loved this Kangaroo & Company card that I saw on instagram.  The gal who posted it is from Germany and I do not have a link to her post. I believe her name is Ellie. So, So Cute!!

Since I have been featuring products that are on the LAST CHANCE LIST, I thought I would feature Kangaroo & Company - only to realize that this set is in the January to June Mini Catalog and will be available through June 30th!!  This is good news!! It is such a cute set that you can use for more than just baby cards.

I personally love kangaroos! As a family we have visited the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo a few times and there is a walk-through area where the kangaroos are loose and just jump across your path. They just make me so happy!

Good News: the GREENERY 2-pack embossing folders are returning to the New Catalog that begins May 4th. Also returning: Cherry Blossoms Dies is what I used for the leaves and flowers (Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride)

Sad News: I really thought that the Well Written Dies were returning, but they were on the LAST CHANCE LIST and they already sold out.  I hope you had a chance to grab that when it was available, it is what I used for the Soft Sea Foam greenery.

"Congratulations" is a sneak peak from a new stamp set called INSPIRED THOUGHTS

Hearts Are Not Just For Valentines Day

some more fabulous products that are on the LAST CHANCE LIST 

This card has several elements on it that are retiring and I don't want you to miss out.

Let's start with the stamp set and dies: This card features the LOTS OF HEARTS BUNDLE and although they are NOT on the LAST CHANCE LIST, they also are NOT carried over to the new Annual Catalog. This bundle is in the January to June Mini Catalog that goes through June 30, but after that it will be GONE.

I was SHOCKED, to say the least, when I saw that the LAYERING SQUARES DIES are retiring. This is such a staple in card making so I would be sure to grab those before it is too late.

The cute little snail - I used the Paper Pumpkin stamp, but the SNAILED IT bundle features the cute snail with the little envelope on it's back.  I cut out the gift packages from the coordinating Designer Paper (also on the retired list)

Next up: Designer Paper - I used the Subtle Color Family 6x6 Designer Paper Pack using the Blushing Bride color. This too is retiring, but there is a whole new set of paper designs coming for each color family. I was inspired to make this card from Kathy Crow. She did not share on a blog so I have no link to share. I also am not sure what Designer Paper she used, but I changed it up to make it more my style without losing the original feel

Game On!

 I think these will be a big seller!

It can be so hard to find/make cards for the guys and this one could go for many ages - if they love to play video games.

I cased the controller from Laura Seki but her you tube video was all in German. I tried her blog post, but when I put it in translate mode it came up super goofy.

I decided to buckle down and figure it out, which I could do even though I couldn't understand her.

I'm super happy with how it turned out. - the finished card measures 6-3/8 x 4. A little bigger than normal but it needed to be bigger to hold the controller.

Check out the gift box version - 

The little box that is attached to the back of the controller is not big enough to hold the standard gift card size, but cash works!!

Here are the dimensions that I came up with (translating them from CM to inches)

1-1/2" x ¾" black glitter 

Basic Black: Stitched Rectangle die #4 (section 2)

Smoky Slate 5/8” circle x 2 – these are glued down (my 5/8" circle is non Stampin' Up! - you could use the 3/4" circle punch but I felt they were just a tad too big.

Basic Black: Stitched Shapes Dies smallest circle x 2 – put these on with dimensionals

Basic Black: Stitched Shapes Dies #3 oval x 2 – glue down

Smoky Slate 3/16” x approx. ½” – cut to a point – add black dimensional pieces to these so they pop up

For the smoky slate circles x4 use the inside of the “o” from Playful Alphabet

Many Hearts Dies (in with Lots of Hearts SS) - for the x's & hearts. These will not be carrying over from the January - June Mini. They will be available until the end of June.

If adding a box on the back, the dimensions are: 4-5/16” x 2-3/8” (x 2) Score at 3/8 on each side. Punch a portion of a circle (in one only - see photo) for the cover finger pulls. The bottom of the box is what gets glued to the back of your controller.

For the card: 

Base: 6-5/8” x 8” scored at 4” - I used Pacific Point

Cut away 1-1/8” on each side of the front.

Cut a second piece of cardstock 1” x 3-7/8” (x2) for the sides - emboss with Textured Textiles embossing folder.

For the front 3-7/8” x 4-5/16” - emboss with Textured Textiles embossing folder.

Inside: white – 4” x 3-5/8”

Tasteful Touches in Black & White

 Today I will share a beautiful card that the ladies made at the Tuesday class this week.

I super-love this card and the whole Black & White theme. It was cased from Tammy Wilson one of the demonstrators on the Artisan team.

You know that I have been featuring items that are on the LAST CHANCE LIST so that you will have a chance to grab these before they are gone.

Lets start with the items that ARE on the LAST CHANCE LIST

1) True Love Designer Paper - a whole pack of 12 x 12 patterned papers devoted to black & white designs. 

2) Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing folder

3) Subtle 3D Embossing Folder - RIGHT?? yes, I was surprised too. It's my go-to embossing folder. I used this embossing folder after I stamped the sprig image

That's it! 

RETURNING PRODUCTS:

1) Tasteful Touches Stamp Set

2) Stitched So Sweetly Dies

3) Black Matte Dots!! yeah!!

Let's clarify a few things:

1) White Twine: Right now there is a combo pack of twine (SNAIL MAIL TWINE COMBO PACK) #154579 $7.00 with white and blushing bride (15 yards in each roll) BUT after June 30 that will be unavailable, but starting May 5th there will be a new BAKER’S TWINE ESSENTIALS PACK • 155475 | $11.00 which has 5 spools of twine... Crumb Cake and white, 10 yards (9.1 m) each; black, Gray Granite, and Very Vanilla, 5 yards (4.6 m) each.

So, you see, you will still be able to purchase white twine.

2) The white embossing powder - right now you can purchase a 1/2 oz. container of white embossing powder for $6.00. When the new catalog goes live on May 5 you will be able to purchase a combo pack of embossing powders in Black, White & Clear for $18.00. Each container is 1/2 oz. There will also be a metallic combo pack of embossing powders available in copper, gold & silver. I guess what I am saying is if you want to get individual colors - get them now!

3) I used a couple older products that are no longer available - the Black Thread that I added along with the white twine, and the edging/distressing tool, but this technique is easily duplicated by using your fingernail.

I curled up the edge with a bone folder
